Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
WaterClan territory was still recovering from the floods that destroyed it. The river had cleared away much of the debris, and he padded along the bank with his eye trained hopefully on the water for a sign of fish. If the prey had returned, the water must be safe, and he had missed the taste of fish more than he realized he would. "C'mon," Chim muttered as he scanned for signs, "there must be some in here…"
If there was a fish, he missed its appearance, because his head snapped up and away from the water the moment he realized someone else was near. "Hello?"

Fuzzypeach, with all his profound roundness, was out for a stroll. The ex-kittypet was still adjusting to life in the newly formed SwiftClan and was finding it rather exhilarating thus far. It seemed that everyday the small clan gained a new cat, though their numbers remained small, and he truly enjoyed the moment he got to meet a new cat. As a former kittypet he was talented at polite conversation and expected socialization, he didn't brag about it or anything though.
This morning he found himself interrupting the fishing of perhaps the most important cat he'd ever met. Understandably, he felt guilty for it. What did he do now? A heartbeat passed before he slunk the rest of the way out of the ferns along the bank and gave a unnatural and awkward little bow to the other tom, "urm, hello your.... highness?" Fuzzypeach couldn't believe he had no idea what to address Chim as. Trying to gloss over his ineptitude he went on, "sorry I broke your concentration."
Chim softened as he saw the rotund tomcat. Fuzzypeach was one of the returning members he actually knew; he was difficult to miss. "Don't.... don't call me that," he told him, feeling a little embarrassed by the name. The name Chimerastar was formal enough, he would be mortified if he had to deal with his clan calling him Your Highness. "Call me Chim, please. This isn't SunClan." He paused to consider the tom's reaction - did he even know about the other clans? Surely he did...

"Okay Chimmy," Fuzzypeach replied easily, awkward bow forgotten. At the mention of SunClan Fuzzypeach fell silent for a moment, staring intently at Chim as though the other tom had sprouted a second tail, "I know, this is SwiftClan. Don't know what SunClan is but it sounds like one of these type groups." The fat ex-kittypet say down heavily, scratching at his left ear vigorously before giving up when he realized his belly kept him from reaching it.
Chimmy was almost just as bad. He sighed, eyes closing and brows knitting together as he sought the patience within himself to deal with Fuzzypeach. "Yes, SunClan is one of the other clans," he ground out slowly. "You'd do best to stay away from them. They're rude, half-mad, and they don't like outsiders."

Fuzzypeach made a sound of disbelief, "clans aren't like that, surely. I think it's just bias, Chimmy. Just bein' honest." There were no half-mad cats. Except, of course, Crazy Larry that lived being the grocery store. He'd had too much catnip one day and never recovered. "I bet if you give this SunClan a chance you'd realize they ain't no different than Swifty."
"Give them a chance? You think I haven't?" Chim laughed, sharp and suddenly angry. "They use fire in their ceremonies and they take over clans whenever they feel the urge. Their leader ritually sacrifices cats that have wronged her and ruined my best friend and his family. She's full mad but the rest are nearly as bad." He had yet to hear Foxbane had stepped down from leader, though it wouldn't change his opinion much.

"Hey, hey, Chimster," Fuzzypeach meowed, making a 'calm down' motion with one of his paws. "Chill, I don't know much about these games y'all play. But if you say they're bad, hey, I'll gobble their leader right up for ya." The large tom didn't know really what his leader was saying, but he could see that he was upset about it. So, because he was truly a stellar warrior, he tried to fix it.
He shot the warrior a deadly look, he was not going to just calm down especially when he couldn't even get his name right, but reluctantly he took a deep breath. He knew he shouldn't get so worked up, but it was difficult to control sometimes when he thought about everything the other clan had done. They weren't even his greatest enemy, but he had watched his brother fall apart because of their leader and he never wanted to see that again. "Don't. I told you not to go near them," he scoffed, his lips pressed into a thin line as he fought against a smile at the ridiculous notion of someone eating Foxstar.

Fuzzypeach bared his teeth, letting his fur fluff up until he looked absolutely ridiculous. The fat tom crouched and crept after a bush, "I'll do like this, righ'?" He paused, one paw in the air in a stance that was most certainly not a good hunter's crouch. "And when her evil back is turned, I'll," he jumped forward, which for him meant he moved forward about two inches and only managed to get a inch in altitude, "pounce! Then," Fuzzypeach licked his lips in an exaggerated motion, "it's fox for dinner!"
He was joking of course, but he doubted very much that there was anything he wouldn't do for SwiftClan.
Chim wasn't sure if he should laugh at the demonstration or cry to see his warriors had such little skill. He knew their group would need some help getting started, but it was like raising a while litter of rowdy kits that ate thrice as much. He settled for shaking his head as he strolled closer, looking critically over his form. "And what if she never turns her back? Are you going to follow her around all day waiting? 'Cuz that seems like a waste of time when you could be hunting," he clicked disapprovingly.

Fuzzypeach huffed, left ear flicking in concealed amusement, "well, I'll be, Chimmy-cham, you sure do ask a lotta your warriors. I'm tryna eat this cat for ya, how 'bout some thanks?" The large tom straightened up, eyes bright with mirth after what he decided was joking between himself and his leader. Fuzzypeach knew that there was no way he was really being criticized, he had already caught a fish for SwiftClan so obviously he had proven himself.
Chim closed his eyes briefly, a slow breath escaping his jaws as he kept himself calm. "It's just Chim," he told him slowly, even emphasized the ending -m, somehow already doubting it would make a difference. "How about you just catch some prey instead? Leave the foxes to someone a little more capable. Foxstar lives far away from here, anyway; she won't visit us for a while yet." Eventually, he knew she'd be coming with her band of zealots, but he was hoping to wait as long as possible.

"Sure, sure," Fuzzypeach meowed, voice somehow promising he hadn't listened to the correction about the nickname. "I caught me a fish earlier, gave it to the momma cats. Reckon they were dang proud o' me too, they laughed and laughed as I set it down. Out of sheer delight at such a treat no doubt." The large tom puffed out his chest, "but I think I gotta another hour or two before I needa eat, so I can probably catch us another fishy." Probably not. He was awful at it.
"I'm sure they appreciated it," he replied, lips pressed tightly together, "and I certainly do. But we need all the prey we can get, so if you can bring in more than the one fish today..." He let the question hang, thinking even Fuzzypeach would understand his request.

Fuzzypeach laughed, "you're too much, Chim." The fat tom stretched luxuriously, "the one fish I got us caught will feed us. But I'll catch us a fish as big as me, alrigh'? I got ya, boss." Dang, Chimmy must eat more than he did, so much he couldn't even catch enough on his own. Hilarious.
Chim studied him slowly and carefully from ear to toe, just in case he'd missed something obvious about the other tom. It didn't appear he had, which meant Fuzzypeach truly was boasting about bringing in a fish that big. The leader shook his head, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. This warrior was demanding a lot of his patience today. "Just bring in a fish, I don't care how big it is, okay?"

"Gotcha," he replied with a wink, "so where are we going to fish at, huh?" The orange tabby seemed contemplative. "Maybe you'd like it if we stuck close by to the rest of the gang, in case you're needed."
"That's... actually a good idea, very reasonable," he allowed. "How about we go as far away as possible instead?" The tiniest hint of humor was present in his voice, the corners of his mouth curling up in an effort at a comedic smile, but the attempt was pretty pathetic. It wasn't a very good joke, he meant every word.

"Perfect," Fuzzypeach agreed easily, "forget the others, let's go a fishin'!" The tom cat headed off in a random direction, bushy tail high, "we'll get us a minnow or two, don't you worry none. Fuzzypeach is here." The happy-go-lucky tom felt as though he were on top of the world currently, the leader had asked for his help hunting! He was that vital to SwiftClan. He was in his prime, he was adored, he was definitely living his best life right now.
