Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Let's go a fishin'," he repeated with a little huff of amusement. He slipped after Fuzzypeach and walked at his side, keeping an eye on their surroundings to help navigate. He'd grown up here, and he knew every step, at least in general terms. "You sound awful confident for a kittypet," he mused, meaning no harm in the label, "especially considering you must have just started hunting."

"Oh," Fuzzypeach meowed pleasantly, "yeah, but I know I'm gettin' the hang of it." The orange tom was bothered by the label, now replaced by the label of warrior, "and bein' a kittypet was dead dull. I think the fuss over learnin' to hunt maybe the most fun of my life. I like takin' fish to the momma cats and the old layabouts."
"'Old layabout?' I'm glad you think so highly of me," Chim scoffed, mostly in jest. "I may be old, but I'm not that lazy!" He flicked his tail as he turned them in the right direction to follow the river downstream.

Fuzzypeach laughed heartily, "you ain't old in anything but seasons," the giant tom promised. "You act younger than most of these green warriors. Leadin' a clan an' all! Why, I could never dream of such a thing myself."
“Neither could I, but here we are,” he replied dryly. “I spent too many moons acting old, but the time I was old I was tired of it. Now I can’t stand to sit around and mope.” He had his family to thank for dragging him out of that life; though they sometimes took pleasure in his suffering, his friends had never given up on him.
Fuzzypeach nodded wisely, feeling rather like a mentor to Chimmy, someone he really needed in his life. "I may not be leader, or your father, but," he stopped and turned, putting his tail on Chim's shoulder dramatically, "I'm proud of you, Chimichanga. An' don't you forge' that."
He huffed, trying not to appear too affected by the gesture, though he felt strangely warm. "Thanks. My father was proud of me too, you know; I would hope so since I named a whole clan after him." A shaky laugh. "I doubt my leader would be anymore."

"You papa's name was SwiftClan? Woah, that was kinda written in those stars, hm?" Fuzzypeach dropped his tail and started walking again, whistling a bit as he went.
Chim snorted, nearly choked on his own breath. "Ah-- no. It was Lightningswift. But you're just being smart," he accused. No way he really thought someone was named -clan.
"Strangest clan name I've ever heard of," he agreed, cautiously eyeing the tom to see if he was joking. He couldn't quite get a read on him... which probably meant he'd been serious. Suddenly he felt a little guilty. "Well, better than my older sister. Did you know her name was Hinderedpaw?"

Fuzzypeach snorted at the name, "I once knew a loner called Baldy. He had not a lick of fur on 'im. Right ugly he was, nicest cat you'd ever meet though! Wonder why anyone names their kits such things? Seems mean to me."
"It's tradition," he answered with a shrug, "but I agree. No cat needs their name to remind them of their flaws... they're hard enough to forget as it is." His head cocked. "How did he lose his fur, anyway? This Baldy."

"If you can believe it, he was born bald. Never grew fur neither!" Fuzzypeach shuddered, "imagine leafbare with no fur? Do we have many bald cats in the clan? He was just a kittypet, so his humans used ta' put him in a weird pelt like the ones they wear, twolegs are mostly furless too so I suppose they know what's best."
do we? i don't think ive ever seen someone rp a sphinx
i don't think there's any in swiftclan, but the fallclan deputy is one
Chim frowned. A cat born without any fur? He wondered if that was some sort of defect, though he vaguely remembered seeing a FallClan medicine cat that didn't have fur either. "That sounds... difficult. We don't have any cats like that here, but maybe in the other clans there are some."

"I can't imagine the clans bein' run with naked cats," Fuzzypeach laughed, "they'd have to change their name to BaldClan. Or FurlessClan." The fat orange cat laughed again, tickled by his own joke. He had to admit he could be utterly hilarious at time.
Chim rolled his eyes. "I don't think you're taking this discussion seriously," he accused. "Think of how difficult it must be for those cats! They never get their fur stuck in brambles, but it probably scratches up their skin. And imagine trying to fight them! They would be so slippery and hard a grip on, but you'd do so much damage. It would be like fighting a giant dry fish."

Fuzzypeach was getting just a small, slight, minuscule, very tiny suspicion that perhaps, maybe, Chim was annoyed by him. Of course he knew he'd done nothing wrong, so perhaps it was stress. "Well, we don't have naked cats, and the only naked cats I've ever seen are kittypets, they don't worry about that kinda stuff. So what's the biggie? You got your fur all inna knot for nothin'."
Chim huffed, unsure why he was agitated. “Whatever. Let’s just fish.” They were getting close to the water again, and he could hear it rushing in the distance. He hesitated after a few steps and looked at Fuzzypeach, a little guilt about brushing him off, a little mischievous.
“... I wonder if the water is colder and harder to bear for cats without fur. Should we Baldy and find out?”

Fuzzypeach laughed heartedly, pleased that Chimmy Champ seemed unmad again. Boy this kid was moody. "He'd be slippery as a fish if he got caught in there, can't imagine bald cats would like water much. Whenever I get drenched to my skin I end up mad as a bee in a bonnet."
