She smiled and swatted the ball between her paws for a moment before passing it back to Lightningkit, only for her aim to miss and the ball rolled over to Mudkit.
"Ha! I got it now!" he tossed it around for a moment before stopping. "Watch this!" He flicked the moss ball in the air and did a twirl around before kicking it with his back paws. It flew over both his sisters' heads and bounced off Silvershine's between her ears.
"Mudkit!"
At the sound of his mother's stern voice, Mudkit quickly pointed to Lightningkit with his paw, "It wasn't me! It was Lightningkit!"
"It was not!" Lightningkit shrieked indignantly at Mudkit's accusation. She'd been a little impressed at Mudkit had managed to do with the ball of moss but as soon as he accused her of sending it flying into their mother she wasn't going to ever mention that now.
Daisykit couldn't help but let out a loud belly laugh. "You really thought you could pull a fast one on mommy? You mouse-brain!" She couldn't help but topple over from laughing.
"Worth a shot" he shrugged, an ornery grin plastered on his face. Then his voice lowered to a whisper, "Who wants to sneak out of camp tonight?" Their mother had to rest at some point.
"That sounds like a great idea but night is also when the rest of camp. Look around, it's middle of the day and we're the only ones up except for those guarding camp." Lightningkit pointed out. "It'd be a lot harder to sneak out."
"Oh, who cares!" Daisykit butt herself in. "Real warriors don't wait for the enemy to go to sleep! They do what they want when they want!" And with a small huff, the red tabby she-kit pranced off. Disappearing behind a corner of the nursery, she didn't even wait for her siblings as she started her attempt at crawling between the brambles.
Looking quikcly over at Silvershine, Lightningkit guessed that their mother must be asleep since she hadn't made a move to stop Daisykit scampering off out of her sight. After hesitating for a few moments, the she-cat decided to follow her sister and joined her at the wall to the camp, frowning at the thorns weaved into the walls.
Mudkit usually was the rebellious one but this time, he felt hesitant to go. Their mother must be snoozing, her figured since she hadnt moved. With one last look at his mother, he scampered after his two sisters, slipping through the thorns. He winced as as they tugged at his fur and scratched his cheeks.
Being the smallest of the siblings, Daisykit had an easier time slipping through the thorns and brambles that bordered MoonClans camp. An almost audible pop! could be heard as she slid the last of her small body through the cracks in the walls. She sat with her tail wrapped around her paws and a smug look plastered across her little red face, watching with amusement at her siblings struggles.
Lightningkit tried to squeeze through the thorns in the same place that her brother and sister had but where Daisykit was the smallest of the lot, Lightningkit looked like she was going to be the largest of the litter once they got older and she was already noticeably bigger than her two siblings. Where they had fir without much trouble, Lightningkit got caught fast and after struggling and just getting more entangled in the thorns, she let out a soft whine. "I'm stuck!"
Mudkit had just crawled out of the thorns, a scratch on his cheek bleeding but not bad. It would heal but he would have to make up an excuse where he had gotten that scratch. He figured he could think up a lie later. When he heard that Lightningkit was stuck Mudkit twitched his whiskers in amusement, "lay off the extra milk and prey, then!" He joked before crawling back in after his sister. When he reached her, he pushed up on the thorns with his back. He could feel them pricking him through his fluffy kitten fur but he ignored the pain they caused. He lifted the thorn brambles just high enough for Lightningkit to get through.
While she had laughed at first watching Lightningkit get stuck, Daisykit started to feel bad after a bit. She watched Mudkit go in for their sister without a second thought, and decided to do the same. Hey, if they got in trouble for leaving, at least she wont get into trouble for leaving her sister in the wall. She slid her small body back into the wall and tried her best to hold up Lightningkit, small legs twitching as the thorn pricked her.
Mudkit looked over and Daisykit with an appreciative smile. Even though his siblings fought and had their arguments, he loved how close they were. He would do anything for his sisters.
When her two siblings came to her rescue and held the thorns away from her, Lightningkit quickly scrambled free of the wall and stopped just a few feet away from it. "Thanks." she said.
"Your lucky you have siblings like us" Mudpaw chuckled as he climbed his way out of the thorns. He had mini scratches throughout his fur but he wasn't too worried about them. They weren't very deep and would heal quickly. "Where should we go?" he asked with excitement as he and his siblings gathered outside the thorn wall. The forest was huge and he stared wide-eyed at the large trees. Everything was much bigger than he imagined.
She huffed. "You've got that right, Mudkit! Look at this!" Daisykit whined as she picked thorns off of her legs and pelt. "The things I do for you guys.." She sighed before bouncing over to her brother, sharing his awe of the forest around them. "I wanna go on a hunt just like daddy!" She chirped, excited to be able to see the world without restrictions.
