Juniperdust wasn't nervous, not really, but she was ill at ease with how quickly this plan had been constructed. Still, she had no choice, right? He moved away from the edge too quickly, though, and she had to redirect him back.
"That's beautiful," she effused at his asinine observation about colors or whatever, and then peered over the side, focusing her eyes on the sharp and jagged rocks below. "Oh- look, a fish!"
Brackengold smiled at her again, and leaned forward to look at the fish his beloved had pointed out, when Juniperdust stepped back slightly. With a casual paw she reached forward, shoving her supposed beloved clean off the edge of the steep drop.

The tom's face was frozen in a look of....everything. Confusion, fear, panic, and the one big question. Why? He didn't even seem to notice he was falling off the cliff until he was staring into the face of his assailant, with just one question. Why did she push him? What was this all for? He couldn't understand, couldn't even fathom Juniperdust's intentions as he fell to his death, a crack of his spine a finality that stole the golden light from his eyes.
Juniperdust watched him topple without any real emotion in her gaze, noting with a business-like nod the way his body broke on the rocks. The angle was just what she hoped for, too, and the river carried his body away quickly, leaving nothing behind that could be linked back to her. "Thank Starclan that's over with," she said, shaking out her coat and pushing past the brambles that surrounded the crime scene.
After completing a loop of the territory and catching a few pieces of prey to give her an alibi for the afternoon, she returned to camp, rather pleased with herself. Nobody knew that they had met up out in the territory- nobody knew he was even missing. Though by the time they realized it, she'd have been back long enough to act appropriately surprised.
"Hey, Mallowmusk," Juniperdust greeted her sister as she dropped her freshkill onto the pile. "What have you been up to today?"

Mallowmusk had been looking for Brackengold all morning. He had mentioned wanting to speak with her this afternoon, and yet she hadn't seen him at all. She was curious as to where he was and what he wanted, but her thoughts were interrupted when Juniperdust said hello. She looked up to her sister. Right, they were talking a lot these days, maybe she knew where he went.
"Hey Juni," she greeted with a smile, "I was just out gathering herbs earlier...have you seen Brackengold? We were supposed to be grabbing a sunset patrol together."
"I haven't seen him," she said casually, drawing a thoughtful expression onto her features. "I was out hunting, but I think I scented him near the southern border? It may have been stale, though. Sorry I'm not more helpful- do you want me to join you for the sunset patrol if he's not back in time?"

She frowned, looking rather disappointed. "I promised him I'd go with him though," she sighed, before shrugging apologetically to her sister, "maybe tomorrow instead? I'll probably go out and look for him out there, I'll see you later, okay?"
"No worries- tomorrow's fine." Juniperdust smiled before flicking her tail. "I'm sure he just got sidetracked by something- I hope you're able to get out on that patrol with him." With a nod to her sister, she headed on to the warrior's den, where she chatted with a few others until it was time for bed. Mallowmusk still hadn't returned, so Juniperdust climbed into her nest and closed her eyes, but held herself alert as she waited to see when her sister would give up the search.

Mallowmusk, in fact, didn't come home that night. No one seemed to know where Brackengold had gone; the last time anyone had seen him was on a morning hunt, but he was no longer where they had seen him last. In fact, she was sure he was no longer in SummerClan territory, because she had walked the entire length of it too, her own worry growing every second. What if he had been chased by a fox? A badger? She couldn't detect a scent of either, and for a brief moment, she had smelled his scent close to the falls. She had even scented Juniperdust...
None of this made any sense. Perhaps they had crossed each other?
When she reappeared the next morning, her eyes sunken with worry, she immediately gravitated towards Juniperdust, still without the suspicion that should've laced her features. She must've seen him, right? "Juniperdust," she greeted, looking exhausted, "morning." She almost felt woozy on her paws.
"Mallowmusk- you look exhausted! Have you been out all night?" Juniperdust asked, eyes widening in surprise. Of course, she knew the answer to that question already, but it was a perfunctory inquiry and one that she made with seemingly genuine worry. "Where's Brackengold? Did you find him?"
