Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Illuminatedpaw shrugged, “I don’t know, I think he does... he gave Glowstar a life once I remember hearing... so.. i don’t know?” He shivered. “Maybe Foxstar’ll Just kill him again and again,” he mumbled as the chanting carried on around them.
“StarClan I hope not,” Illuminatedpaw murmured, “but we’ve gotta keep chanting. E-even if that’s what Foxstar’s going to do we can’t give them no quarter.”
“That’s the spirit.” Squirrelleap the Tom seated beside Illuminatedpaw meowed.
“And we’ve got your backs... for today at least,” Fernshadiw, the NightClan cat beside Windchaser meowed a bit shakily as she eyed SunClan.
Ah, so this wasn't all Glowstar had planned. Foxstar's gaze followed the pair of leaders as they walked, waiting for them. She was in no rush, and the interruptions from the other clans didn't bother her, not yet anyway. The High Priestess had expected a commotion, and she had to admit, she was somewhat curious as to what her friend's ultimate plan was. Truly, she didn't expect to be disappointed.
"DEATH! DEATH!" Arcanekit stood next to Duskkit, and actually, was trying to stand on her brother's shoulders, chanting for the death of the tom on the podium. She didn't know Deal, though she vaguely recalled something about her mother and him, and Glowstar didn't seem to be in support of this either... but whatever. She was excited to see an execution, and could feel bad about calling for his death later, if her mother explained what was going on exactly.
Spellpaw waved back at Glowstar, a maniacal grin on her face. The apprentice had a skewed version of the world, in which death and violence was a sign of love. She wanted to kill her family, to have the honor of being the ones to end their lives, and none other, because of her love for them. As such, executions were weird for her. It seemed backwards, but she was excited nonetheless, to see her Deal's death. It wasn't her first execution, actually, for she'd seen Wormwood's, but this one was much more personal, with her grandmother killing her grandfather, and she could only imagine how much they loved each other, to show this to the entire clan, and Glowstar's jealousy at not being able to claim the kill. There was no sane reasoning behind it, but of course, Spellpaw wasn't sane anyway, so what did it matter how she saw the events?
Eternallaughter's paws itched to follow Glowstar and Burningstar, but the Immortal Council member stayed where he was, his voice already hoarse from shouting Deal's name at the top of his lungs. He knew a bit about the tom, from the DayClan leader's tales, and from rumors, not all of it good, but it didn't matter. He was a DayClan leader once upon a time, and that was enough to earn the tom's support. He wouldn't go quietly while more cats he cared about died or disappeared. Rubyflame was missing, and he didn't doubt for a second Foxstar had something to do with it.
"But what is she waiting for?" she asked Illuminatedpaw even though he knew about as much as she did...next to nothing. "Surely if she wanted this bad enough, she would have ended his life...lives by now, right?" She wondered if Foxstar was actually scared and if the leader was actually going to go through with this. Windchaser looked over at the Nightclan cat sitting next to her, a little bit of hope flashed in her green eyes at the she-cat's words. "We greatly appreciate any support. It is unfortunate that you must see us so weak. I'm certain Glowstar will repay Nightclan in any way she can for such support."
"Oh wow," Glowstar said, standing at the front of the crowd, "You know I didn't think I'd get this far, but thanks for being there as emotional support." she praised Burningstar before staring up at the central rock where Foxstar and Deal were located, "Really regretting skipping those hostage negotiation lessons, now."
Her heart fluttered before she leapt, but once onto the central rock she could hardly feel a heartbeat at all, like it stopped and it may as well have. She hadn't felt true fear in a while, however she didn't walk forward, she stayed on the far left side of the rock. Foxstar could slit his throat open at any moment, even now as she stood watching them. It didn't even feel like she was there and maybe she wasn't. It was likely there was no one else around Foxstar, but herself and Deal.
"Hey, I'm here for you," She wasn't looking at Deal, but at Foxstar, "I know how much this means to you, but I just wanted to say something to you before it all begins..."
Her emerald gaze was as soft as feathers towards Foxstar. She was breathless as usual, that essence of warmth flowing from her to Foxstar. A silent promise that there was no one else she wanted to see, but her. There wasn't confidence behind Glowstar's eyes, but hope.

Flyingcolors sat next to Soaringdawn as she chanted Deal's name loudly without holding back, ignoring some of the disgusted and irritated looks given to her by the Sunclan cats around her. She didn't pay them any attention, they were not important to her right now.
Fadingsight could not see the scene before him but he could taste the anticipation up until Dayclan started chanting. Now, that anticipation was masked with an air of confusion and annoyance and the brown tabby could help but be amused as his blind yellow eyes stared forward and he chanted Dealstars name with the rest of his clan. Something about it was a powerful feeling and he knew what they were doing was the right choice.
Lochflare glanced around at the Dayclan cats making a ruckus, but a piece of him felt grateful to then. He could not stand up against Foxstar and would not for a cat who did not stick around to raise him or see him grow up, but he could tell that he wasnt the only one sickened by this execution. Why did they capture these clans again? For a moment, he could not even remember. Their ties to each other seemed unbreakable and they were not defenseless even as prisoners.
The small brown tabby kit looked around, confused and a bit worries as the Dayclan cats began to chant a name. Dealstar? Is that who this cat was? What significance did he have to the clans? Acaiburst became increasingly curious and decided he would ask an elder or Janus later after everyone had disbanded.
Glowstar was an actress all her own, Foxstar would give her that. Alarm bells rang in the back of her mind, but try as she might, she couldn't predict the next words of her friend. The DayClan leader was the epitome of chaos, her personality all her own, and bound to none, no matter the ties that the Priestess tried to force on her. She was both Glowstar's greatest ally, and her most deadly threat, and that was perhaps why they'd worked thus far. She found herself mesmerized by her friends words, wanting to believe the DayClan leader was being genuine, that this wasn't some sort of trick to set Deal free, or to reveal some secret in front of the clans. But she stopped herself short of succumbing to it, head tilted ever so slightly as to wait for Strikhedoniadalisay's words. She couldn't know what the she-cat would say, so for better or worse, she had to wait and see.
Her tail twitched ever so slightly, ready for everything and nothing at once. Would her friend attack her again, try to attack Deal, or even just have some witty remark or ridiculous stunt? It was borderline infuriating, to have no clue what was going on, though the only indication of anything was the slightest raise of her brow in apparent impatience.
Burningstar nodded to Glowstar, before she sat at the front of the crowd, watching as Glowstar jumped onto the rock with Foxstar and Deal.
The ginger she cat was equally surprised as Glowstar, she’d expected Glowstar would able to pull off whatever she intended to do. She was Glowstar after all, and very little could stop her it seemed. But the NightClan leader hadn’t expected Foxstar to allow Glowstar to do so. She looked between the two. They had a strange relationship it seemed. Glowstar often had told Burningstar that she and Foxstar were like sisters... and that was abundantly clear in this moment.
She listened, curious by Glowstar’s words. She like Foxstar had no idea what the DayClan leader would say next. Her amber gaze softened a bit, and that was why she enjoyed being around Glowstar, her chaotic nature how unpredictable she could be. Even if Burningstar thought she knew her Glowstar always had some surprise.
So she sat back quietly and observed, but also still ready. There was the potential for retaliation from Foxstar still, or Glowstar doing... something else besides talk.
“Maybe she’s savoring the moment? Maybe she’s just making allowances for Glowstar?” Illuminatedpaw said uncertainly. “But we have to keep chanting. Have to hope. Have to not give up.” Then he took a deep breath and started chanting “Dealstar! Dealstar! Dealstar!” Once more.
Fernshadow shook her head, “You owe us nothing, we do this because our leader recognizes this is wrong. That you have suffered and... well, we’re here to support you. If only for today.” She didn’t say that come tomorrow, NightClan would go along with BrookClan once more. And if brookclan’s Lot still lay with SunClan, then so would NightClan’s. She could only hope that either Kerrigan saw sense or Burningstar made her see sense or backed out of the alliance.
"I know in the past, we called each other best friends, but we didn't really know each other. That it was almost a year ago we were more strangers, enemies even. But despite ignoring me when you first became leader, kidnapping me, killing me. You were always my sister and I know you're hurting. And you can look at him happily cause you're getting a piece of what you want. But I see the pain in your heart and the rain in your eyes. He stole your soul, but I know he didn't steal all of it. Even if I'm the only person left in this world who believes you have a soul, I've seen it. I see it in your smile and in your eyes when you talk about memories. You've been left standing in the past for so long. You don't have to stand in the past anymore because I'm finally here for you where I should have been so many years ago. Don't let this be who you are. He's already taken so much, don't let him be worth making a show out of this."
Tears drew tracks down the side of Glowstar's face as she watched Foxstar, "I'm here for you."
She smiled weakly extending a paw out to Foxstar. Whatever Foxstar wanted to do she would do it, no matter how many times she had tried to delay Foxstar in the past it still came to this moment. Even if she saved Deal, she would find him again somewhere she wasn't able to find him. It was fate, "Please sister. If you kill him you'll never let go of that pain inside of you, but take my paw and we'll face it together, I promise."
Strawberrypaw had stayed quiet up until then, watching with wide green eyes as the execution was about to take place. "Dealstar! Dealstar! Dealstar!" she yowled passionately. Her voice was usually soft-spoken and almost seductive in nature, but right now it was a clarion call, like bells ringing through the air.
Surprisingly, Whisperingraven had been chanting for a while now, having started when his sister did. The shy black-and-white tomcat believed in second chances for everyone. Sitting beside his siblings, his yellow eyes were fixed upon Foxstar as he wondered what she would do next.

Auricluster sat among the cats he knew of Deal and the stories around the arrogant well traveled tom. Though he could not truly form an opinion of him without meeting him. Too bad the white tom would never get the chance. When deal comes too he was sure he would be run off.

While the chanting had not surprised her, Littlebird felt herself taking a step forward as Glowstar approached Foxstar. She was the one standing closest to the pair of leaders, the only other cat who had been allowed stand near the execution. With Jetclaw and Skipstep by her side, she had nothing to fear. Yet she paused at Glowstar's words... If the leader though that was going to stop Foxstar, she was sorely mistaken.
Dealstar. Dealstar. The chant shuddered through the air and into him, each repetition a new wave of shock blasting him. It was a name he had never wanted to hear again, a time he wished to forget, but suddenly it meant something more to him. Hearing so many cats shout his name, hearing them support him of all cats, would have had him in tears if the anxiety of his coming death didn't have an ever-present grip on his mind. And it wasn't just Glowstar; his forest gaze found Burningstar, Windchaser, Soaringdawn, Ravenmist, Fadingsight, Myriadwolf, Strawberrypaw...cats he had never met mingled among those he knew. Were they just joining in, or had he truly touched that many lives? Even assuming most of them were merely following their leader, it was enough to make the prisoner stand a little straighter, and a spark of amusement hardened his gaze.
He turned to face Foxstar once more, cocking his head to the side. "I've always been a fool," he reminded her, "and you know me better than that. You know me better than I know myself. I don't give up on love; I never stop. I have always loved you." He searched her ivy gaze with a hint of desperation for a sign he was getting through to her. "I thought once we were mates, that meant something... that maybe it wasn't just manipulation. It meant something to me. But then I met Sparrowmark. And then you met Tobias." Finally his tone thickened with anger at his brother's name. Those moons when she had openly flirted with Tobias in front of him had been utter torture, and the deputy had been helpless to stop it.
Deal looked up as their pair of leaders approached, and shook his head to them slightly. They couldn't free him, and they shouldn't try. It was time. Glowstar's words surprised him, though maybe they shouldn't have. This was her friend, and it was Glowstar of all cats. But.. what did she mean, he had stolen Foxstar's soul? She hadn't had one to begin with, that was clear enough to him. She had done nothing but use him, feasted on his uncontrolled feelings and manipulated him for her own game. She hated him, and he knew that Glowstar couldn't change that.

She understood. Relief rushed over Ebonygold at his mate's nod, and his heart grew stronger. Even knowing this would mean his death, she let him go. It had taken his whole life to finally find a cat that loved him so completely she could stand by, but it had been worth every moment of it. He only wished his decision would not rain hell on her after he was gone. The Senator turned to go back and stopped at the she-cat's touch. "Then let me be an example. Let me show everyone I am more than just empty words; let them know that we can stand up to her, that we are not all yellow-bellied. Maybe I will die, but at least I will die to show everyone else we won't give up so easily." His words were calm and confident as he stared at Lastaffair, but his strong facade slipped a little as he went on. "Lastaffair... I can't just stand by and watch her murder him."
Foxstar stood silently as Glowstar spoke, noting once more that her friend truly did know how to surprise her. It was almost... touching, the lengths she seemed to be willing to go, not just to save Deal, but to seemingly save the Priestess own soul, what was left of it, anyway. Dare she say it, it was downright commendable, that Glowstar would be concerned for her in such a way as to risk life and limb to try and dissuade her before the clans spread out below. Her smirk softened into a small smile, and there was something glimmering behind her eyes, just barely there, as though the DayClan leader had ignited the remnants of her soul.
For a moment, the world stood still as the Priestess' paw reached out for Glowstar's slowly, daring their audience to hope that the painted feline had turned over a new leaf. Alas, it was winter, and all the leaves were dead and shriveled. When their paws met, that light went out of Foxstar's eyes, leaving a void in it's wake, and the SunClan leader pressed her sister's paw down gently back to the earth, taking a half step back and allowing the smirk to return. Whatever hope there might have been fizzled out, as the auburn she-cat rolled her shoulders back, standing taller with a new conviction for her cause, time rushing back into motion, with the sound of chants and the scents of fear, anger, and anticipation.
"If you are my sister, then you know me well enough by now to understand that I am not so easily swayed. I will hold to the path I've chosen for myself, even if that means the whole world burns, and I along with it."
Her gaze swung to Deal then, and her voice quieted like before, until her words could only reach her ex mate, and her sister. "I've made many a mistake Deal. Sparrowmark was a mistake, though I didn't know it at the time. Tobias was a mistake, but that one I knew full well." Foxstar could admit she'd made things worse, but those things she'd done were those that she'd long since come to terms with. "But my biggest mistake.... was loving you."
Those last three words were so, so soft, almost lost to the air even as she said them. At the same time, they were tinted with a frigid cold that came from the depths of her shattered soul.
Lastaffair's gaze held Ebonygold's evenly, not letting go of his paw for even a moment. Not until she was done. "Then shout his name from the treetops. Never let Foxstar forget him or what she's done. You won't make it where Glowstar stands, you'll be dead before you even realize it. For that matter, leave SunClan, then. Join DayClan and honor his memory there, where he made his home, show my mother that you won't let his name be forgotten or tainted by her hatred. Tell his kits descendants, far and wide as they may be, what kind of tom he really was. Don't give Foxstar the chance to dictate how Deal goes down in history. But most importantly, live. You have one life to live, and your words and stories will mean so much more by being spread to the far corners of the world than they will buried under the earth."
Burningstar had looked on hoping that Glowstar could get through to Foxstar, but though she couldn't hear all that was said between the three. She saw Foxstar set Glowstar's paw down, and straighten up, and her hopes tanked, her tail drooping.
Glowstar's efforts had failed. Reaching out to Foxstar like she had, had not been enough, Foxstar was clearly set on this path. So Burningstar sucked in a breath bracing herself for what was to come. She didn't know how the execution would go down. Didn't know if Glowstar would try anything else, but she braced herself for well... anything at this point. She just knew whatever happened it would be big.
He tensed as she reached for his mate, unsheathing his claws and preparing to leap into action. He would not let her hurt Glowstar, not again. Deal couldn't beat Foxstar in a fair fight, but he had seen this show once before, and he was not going to watch again. It was not in his nature to die fighting. He'd always been a bit more craven than he would have liked, and the idea of lying down and quietly appealed to him far more than falling in battle... but if she made a move toward Glowstar, he would lay down his life then and there. Then Foxstar pulled back, and he relaxed. He had known the soulless vixen would not give in, but he was relieved she didn't attack either.
At her words, he closed his eyes. How long had he waited to hear that? How many nights had he lay hoping she regretted her actions as he did his, that she loved him and the little family they had tried to build? But it was too late, now. It was too late for them. Those sleepless evenings had ended moons ago, when he accepted it had never been possible for them to be together, and he had tried to move on. Foxstar never had. Deal shook his head, then, slowly, and opened his eyes again. "You never loved me, Foxstar. I wish that you did. But if you loved me, you never would have done any of this. You don't go out of your way to hurt cats that you love."
-
"How can I honor his memory, when I never tried to save him? Maybe if I tell her I made him attack her, that I planned the assassination, she'll be forced to let him go because he is innocent of his crimes." His speculation was weak even to his own ears. He knew Lastaffair was right, and he didn't fight to move on, just stared after his son with lonely eyes. Ebonygold was many things, but he was not dishonest. He couldn't claim he had been a part of the attack, and they would not believe him anyway; and even so, it would not clear Deal of wrongdoing. It just a desperate attempt to do something, anything, to stop this terrible event from transpiring.
"You know, Deal, I could say the exact same thing about you." Foxstar echoed. He claimed that he still loved her, yet never, not once, had she ever been enough. Even when she was perfect, it was never enough, and he left at the first sight of someone else that caught his eye. She'd spent innumerable nights alone herself, knowing not where he went, only that he was with someone that wasn't her, that she wasn't even a thought in the back of his mind, and yet she'd lied for him when cats came questioning, made them up a perfect life that he held onto at only his own convenience. He hadn't loved her when he tried to kill her, and he didn't love her now. He loved Glowstar, and Foxstar wondered if he'd had the opportunity, would he have broken her heart as well?
The Priestess was done apologizing for her mistakes, she was done trying to be perfect, done trying to make herself enough for someone who would never be satisfied. Today, she'd break off just a little more of herself to salvage the rest, and in a rare moment of internal vulnerability, Foxstar prayed. She prayed to the Sun God, for the strength to go through with her decision, and for a hardened heart to survive the aftermath.
With a deep breath, Foxstar turned to the crowd, a wicked look on her fox-like features. "Now, I think we've wasted enough time with sentimentality. Your death is waiting, whether or not you've accepted your fate."
The green eyed she-cat shook her head. "You're his father, Ebonygold. Whether you realize it or not, you've saved him countless times. He made his choices, and he will not hate you for yours. We both know that Foxstar won't let him go. She'll come up with some other fault or rule broken, she will make him guilty of something, anything, just to justify her actions."
