It was a cold, breezy day as Cutthroat set out to hunt hunt for EarthClan. His auburn fur waved in the wind causing him more of a chill. At least it's not snowing, he thought as he went north of the camp. Perhaps he'd have some luck on that side of the mountain. It wasn't long until he smelled a freshly made rabbit trail but as he followed it the scent of fox mingled with it. "That's just great!" he muttered under his breath. Tangling with a fox alone wasn't something he relished. But if it came to that, he'd do it.

An angry growl split the silent icy air followed by a hiss, "back off you mange covered flea bag!" Celestialglow stood face to face with the fox, backed up against a giant oak, her golden eyes blazing with anger and her orange and white striped fur was bushed up like a porcupine. She swung a blow but missed the fox's muzzle by a whisker.

Seeing his clanmate in trouble with the fox he'd been trailing, Cutthroat leaped forward yowling to distract the beast. "HEY YOU! STINKY FACE!" His ruse worked. The fox turned away from Celestialglow and began to move toward him. Good I've got it's attention, he thought as he watched the fox. "Come get a taste of my claws and fangs!" he hissed.

"Um, saving you," Cutthroat replied.
The fox spun back around with a screech as it felt Celestialglow's teeth in it's tail. It ripped it's tail free and lunged with bared fangs toward the she cat.

(lol)
The fox shrieked in pain as Celestialglow's claws scratched one of his eyes. He shook his head in an attempt to clear his vision. That's when Cutthroat attacked the fox from behind. He raked his claws down the fox's back. It yowled in pain again and shook the tom off. Having enough of the two cats, the fox ran off.

With a shrug of his shoulders, Cutthroat rose to his feet. "Suit yourself," he meowed. "There's not too many cats who can handle a fox all on their own. I know I wouldn't want to try."

The auburn tom eyed Celestialglow intently for a moment before speaking. Was she courageous or foolhardy? He really didn't know her that well so he didn't know. Maybe a little of both, he reasoned. "I for one don't want to risk my life uselessly. If you're wrong in a situation like this, you can be dead wrong."

Cutthroat blinked, surprised by Celestialglow's unexpected compliment. "Thank you," he meowed, bowing his head slightly. "You're pretty fearless yourself, wanting to take on a fox alone." Then realizing he hadn't asked about her welfare, he continued, "Did the fox do you any damage?"

"I doubt it'll come around again anytime soon," Cutthroat meowed. "When it found you, it found some sharp teeth and claws." He paused and looked back the way he had come. "It's probably long gone by now - the rabbit I was trailing. I think that fox was following it too. One good thing though, it didn't get the rabbit either."
