Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Dawnmemories, where was this confidence when you were first made deputy? Unless you've recently gained the ability to see the future, you don't know that you'll break my heart. There are so many different ways this could end. If you don't want to be with me, that's okay. I can still be your friend. But I wouldn't be true to myself if I ignored my feelings for you. I had to try."
Ragingspire looked into her eyes steadily. "Let me worry about my own happiness, and you worry about yours. Just ask yourself: would it make you happy to be with me? If it would, what else do you need to know?"

"Dawnmemories, where was this confidence when you were first made deputy?" ha! got 'er! savage xD
Despite the incredibly stressful and emotional moment, his first statement triggered an eyeroll and a snort from her, "okay, okay. That's not what I meant. I just meant the risk is... is a lot for me."
She needed to say something else. Elaborate, agree, deny him. Literally any words. And as he waited and the heartbeats went on and she stared at him with eyes wide and confused she realized that she was looking at him differently. "Yes," she finally said, "yes I would be happy." Half of her rejoiced in those words, the other half almost seemed to weep. But there was nothing in her gaze to expose the part of her heart belonging to a grumpy warrior with a lousy attitude.
"Then I don't see what the problem is," he meowed softly, lost in the depths of her gaze. He was so close, he could feel she was on the edge, and just a few more honest words might convince her. Maybe not even that, maybe if he just continued to sit here next to her, she would break down and agree to be with him.
But Ragingspire reigned himself in and tooth a deep breath, and reeling himself back in, he rose to his paws and stepped back. He put distance between them: just a few steps, just enough space for her to think.
"You're right." The bronze warrior dipped his head to her. "I am asking a lot of you, and I shouldn't make light of that difficulty. I don't want to push you to be with me unless you're absolutely certain you want to try. So you don't have to answer me now, okay? If it takes a moon, I'll wait. And if the answer is no, it will be okay. I care about you, and that means I'm going to stay beside you, even if it's only as a friend. Nothing has to change if you don't want it to. Just think about it, that's all I'm asking."

He was one of the most surprising and thoughtful cats she'd ever met. Here he was, exposing his heart and soul to her, and not expecting anything in return if she didn't want it. "Ragingspire," she meowed, moving closer to him until she could tuck her head under his chin. "You aren't pushing me, it was a surprise. But a good one."
She said nothing else, but she closed her eyes and allowed her to listen to his heartbeat and his breathing and feel comforted. Feel at home.
