Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
"Get out" she growled, golden gaze narrowed in on Oakshade her tail lashing back and forth in irritation. Tinymutiny had always been a difficult cat to get along with, but lately that was becoming an understatement. She was near unbearable, lashing out even when others were only treating her with kindness. When Oakshad proceeded to stand there starting without moving he claws emerged from their sheathes. She picked up the blackbird he had brought her and chucked it at his face "I SAID LEAVE, and take your scrawny bird with you" she screamed, all eyes on the warriors den falling on the odd pair. With a huff she turned and returned back to her nest, curling back up and closing her eyes. Leaving Oakshade and the rest of the warrior to all wonder what what he had done wrong.
"Tinymutiny..." Oakshade's voice was almost a whine, they had made so much progress with each other in the past few moons but lately it seemed everything he said to her set her off. It was worse than being back to square one. There was literally nothing he could do or say to make her happy. It was like she was perpetually in some kind of nightmare. The only thing that scared him more than her claws was knowing that she was in turmoil and there was nothing he could do to help. Oakshade had considered asking Foxbane for her opinion as she seemed to be the only cat that knew his mate as well as he did, but he was pretty sure her help with involve tranquilizers or worse. In other words, salt to the wound. He carefully picked up the blackbird again and forced his way back into the Warrior's den, "... you have to eat something! How long has it been since you last had a proper meal? If you keep this up I'm going to have to get Littlestar in here to make sure something isn't seriously wrong with you. You have me worried sick!"

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
"WHAT PART OF GET OUT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND" she picked up one of the pebbles on the floor of the warriors and den and hurled it at him as she hissed, her fur bristling outwards. "I'm not some helpless princess, I can get my own food, so just GET OUT" she snarled fangs bared, not letting him get any where within touching distance. She had enough of his constant worrying and fretting for a life time. Always going out and bringing her back fresh-kill, lining their nest with feathers, and worst of all talking with her mother! Its was suffocating, and what she needed was time alone.
"Not fair, I promised that I was going to stop calling you princess, now I only do it on accident!" Oakshade replied as the pebble hit him right in between his eyes. He let out a startled yelp but it didn't dissuade him from forcing himself deeper into the Warrior's den, "It's part of my job to make sure you are happy and all I know to do is make sure you are comfortable, well-fed and loved. Now eat this stupid black-bird so I make sure you are not sick and we can take a nap." He sat curled up into the nest next to theirs but didn't let their pelts touch, "Besides, I'm tired anyways, just pretend I'm not here or something."

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiny's lip curled up in disgust at the scent of the blackbird reached her nose and she had to bit her tongue in order not to vomit. The scent was to strong, making her even more nauseous than before. "If you won't leave than I will" she hissed, rising up to her paws, and nearly stomping out of the warriors den every hair on her standing up on end as she did so, completely ignoring the blackbird that Oakshade was so desperately trying to get her to eat. She didn't even look back, each step fueling the butterflies in her stomach.
Oakshade was in tune enough with Tinymutiny to feel very real waves of revolution emanating from her and had enough sense to leave the piece of prey behind when he got up to follow after her, "Where in the world do you think you are going to go?" He charged up ahead of her - easily, he had long legs - and put himself directly in her path. Oakshade looked like an unmovable force to and some extent her was; the idea that something was wrong with his mate was partially activating his element, "Tell me what's wrong or I'm going to drag you to Littlestar."
"Don't you get it, YOU ARE my problem" she growled, altering her course to walk around him ranting every step of the way "Ever since I became your mate your treating me like some sort of damsel in distress" she snarled, glaring at him as if daring him to challenge her on it "I'm not some helpless kit, I am SunClan warrior, if you want a kit to care for go to the nursery and leave me be" She walked a few steps, only stopping to let a few of the wrestling kits from the nursery to pass in front of her paws.
"That's it, we are going to the High Priestess's den. I know your patterns and something is wrong." Oakshade replied firmly as he once again put himself right in front of her, his paw resting on top of hers. He lowered his head right in front of hers and gave her a very stern look. This tom was always quick to yield but he made it clear that right now was not one of those times. The brown-and-white tom held that position for a moment then leaned forward to rub his cheek against hers, "You'll be okay, there's nothing to be afraid of, Littlestar is a great healer. You probably just have a tummy ache or something, ruins even the nicest cat's mood." He wasn't intentionally treating her like a kit but it is true that he would have treated a kit this same way.

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiny froze at his touch, muscles tensing as her body revolted at the feeling of his cheek against hers "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME" she snapped slashing out at his chest to push him away, claws unsheathed as she felt them tear through flesh before launching herself full force toward him. If she couldn't get away, then her only choice was to go forward. Her teeth were bared, an all to familiar look in her eyes for those that new her well. It was the same look she had when hunting, and when she had killed her brother at Foxbane's command. It wasn't Tinymutiny in control any longer, but something much darker. The instinctual side of her that reacted rather than thought. A side of her that wouldn't hesitate to kill those in her path.

The young warrior hardly had the time to do much damage before she was suddenly ripped away from Oakshade, and then there she was, matching Tinymutiny glare's with calm, but unwavering authority in her own ivy eyes, smacking away the claws with a deft paw. The engagement and hope feathers hung from her ear, swaying gently as her head lowered slightly. Foxbane's expression was almost disturbingly cold, less a mother to a daughter, and more a queen to a pawn. "Stop." The word was an order, plain and simple, thought the Senator didn't seem keen to pause there. "Wouldn't want to hurt the kits you're carrying, would you?" Her gaze, only then, left her daughter for the absolute briefest moment to glance at Oakshade before flitting back. "You should have told me you were pregnant, Tinymutiny. Could have given you something for it."
Now, Foxbane didn't really explain what she meant by giving her daughter something, it could be anything, really, though knowing her family, the likelihood anyone would take it in an innocent way was unlikely at best, regardless of her true meaning.
Oakshade felt the pressure of Tinymutiny's claws against his chest but the pain was greatly dulled, about as uncomfortable as stepping on a pebble. He took the blow unflinchingly and actually would have pushed closer had Foxbane not appeared out of thin air and pulled the enraged she-cat away from him. He looked to Foxbane with a slightly betrayed expression: This she-cat always seemed to be there in his greatest moments of weakness. She had a nose for it.
He opened his mouth to say something, he didn't know what, but after the former High Priestess's revelation, his jaw was left hanging open. Tinymutiny was pregnant? He started to feel the sting of those wounds in his chest now as his fear of the unknown turned into pure, unadulterated joy. A grin spread across his face. She wasn't sick or in immediate danger - she was carrying his kits which was easily the best news he'd ever heard, "Tinymutiny, I can't believe it, I'm so excited!" Tears tugged at the corners of his eyes, his heart was literally melting, "I can't wait to start this next chapter of our lives together..." He sniffled, "... Foxbane, she really is OK, right?"
Tinymutiny lashed out at Foxbane as she tore away from her target, the much more experienced she-cat easily deflecting her daughters blows before ordering her to stop. She froze, out of pure habit at the sound of the command. Unable to force her limbs to move, even though she still wore an intense snarl on her face until her mother continued.
Pregnant? All the anger and fury suddenly fell away, as Tinymutiny fell to the ground laughing holding her sides. She laughed and laughed and laughed, everything coming together in her mind. Oakshade hovering constantly, the special treatment, his constant fretting over what she was eating. It was all just another scheme by her mother to try and control her. Normally such a scheme would have infuriated her, but instead she was just glad to have some sort of reasoning as to why Oakshade was being so clingy and over protective "Oh Oakshade" she managed to say between her hard laughs and trying to catch her breathe
"Mom really got you this time with her scheming, we both know I'm not pregnant" she continued laughing and rolling around on the ground holding her sides "I supposed this means I should forgive you, since you are just the victim in all this"

Tinymutiny might be laughing, but Foxbane wasn't. Her ear merely twitched. "Oakshade is rather easy to convince of things, I'll admit. You could certainly have chosen a less easily manipulable mate. Not the point." She waved away that particular train of though with a flick of her tail. "Let me guess, you're having a hard time keeping prey down. Pretty nauseous often? Moody, but I saw that one just now. Easily irritated by every single thing in existence. Maybe dizzy, having trouble sleeping, headache, and feeling tired more often than usual. Sense of smell seems off the charts. Look at yourself in the river and feel like you need to cut down on your food intake despite barely seeming to eat anything at all." She listed off things in a clinical way, cool, detached, but clearly seeming to tick them off in her own mind as she looked at her daughter. Foxbane herself was pregnant, rather obviously so by now. Had, well, had quite a few litters herself, and assisted in even more kittings, so it made sense she'd know what she was talking about. "Feel free to go ask Littlestar or Mountainsound. I guarantee they'll come up with the same answer in just about the same amount of time."
Oakshade's whiskers twitched when Foxbane called him easy to manipulate and twitched them again when Tinymutiny called him a victim. What was he, a punching bag? Normally he would have probably made a comment about those insults but presently he was just too happy and concerned to worry about it right now. Happy for the news, concerned about Tinymutiny's reaction to it. He'd accepted the theory quickly because it made perfect sense; although Tinymutiny's emotions were on a completely different level that Mapledawn's, he had just been with his sister throughout her entire pregnancy, he knew what was coming. Perhaps his subconscious had picked up on it before he had, which could explain why he had been babying her so much recently. No matter. As good as the news was, his mate was clearly losing it and needed... something? Or maybe someone? He didn't think Foxbane was the cat for either.
"Sweetie, If you don't want to hear this from Foxbane, I can fetch any cat you want for a second opinion. But think about it for a minute. Everything Foxbane listed makes sense. And besides... I mean, you and I both know there's a chance..." He nuzzled her flank, trying to help calm her down with touch, not that it ever really worked with her but it made him feel better, "You're going to be a mother, Tinymutiny! I already have some names picked out and everything, I love being an uncle and can't wait to be a dad. The Sun God answered my prayers."
"Oh this is rich" she replied wiping tears from her eyes as she finally started to regain some composure after her laughing fit "You really believe my mother, wow" she spun around and looked at Foxbane, her gaze changing to something far more serious "Look, you have done a lot of things, but this is one of the worst. You really should keep your nose out of my business. instead of waltzing around and getting his hopes up and lying to both our faces. We haven't even been together for two moons, so even if I somehow magically managed to get pregnant that first night, I wouldn't be having any symptoms" she scoffed, in complete denial of what everyone else had already seemed to have accepted. To be fair, in most normal pregnancies she wouldn't have been showing any signs just yet.
"Come on, lets get out of here before she fills your head with any more crazy ideas. Of course she makes sense to you, she could talk a badger into jumping into the ocean. She is just manipulating you like she does every one else around her" she nudged his shoulder, trying to get him to just walk away
Oakshade couldn't help it. He gave Foxbane a half-pleading glance, a silent call for help, a look she probably hadn't seen from any cat for a long time. He realized perhaps too late that if Tinymutiny saw this she would have his tail so he turned his attention back to her and instead wore honest concern on his face, "Tinymutiny, even if there's a chance, you really need to be looked at by a healer. I can't in good faith let you return to Warrior duties until I know for sure that you are perfectly healthy. Even if it's not a pregnancy, something is off about you. Let's go see Littlestar or Mountainsound or, heck, we can even go DayClan and have whoever their medicine cat is look you over, I just have to make sure you are healthy." He returned her shoulder nudge but it was a lot softer than the one she had given him. If she thought Oakshade was babying her this morning, then she had no idea what was coming, "Okay?"

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiny had been just about to give into his request to go and see a healer to ease his mind, until he had to open his mouth and utter probably the worst thing that he could have given the situation "You may be my mate, but that doesn't mean I need your permission for anything" she snapped, her apparent better mood ruined in a split second, as her tail began to lash again and she shouldered past him towards the maze the lead out of camp
"Like it or not I am going hunting, I will not listen to another word of this nonsense"
Oakshade put himself firmly in front of Tinymunity, displaying once again why he had earned his name; the large tom's shadow cats the smaller she-cat in darkness. His expression looked very torn. He didn't want to make his mate ever feel like she didn't have control of each and every one of her actions. That being said, he wasn't about to let her go and do something stupid just to prove a moot point. He frowned and took a deep breath.
"Don't make me do this, Tinymutiny. You're going to go see Littlestar." His voice was about as firm as it had ever been but his hazel eyes were serious... almost threatening? He literally was not going to let her leave camp until this issue was put to rest.

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiny's fur bristled, a snarl gracing her face for the second time today. Gazing up at him with pure fury in her golden gaze, not only did he sounds like her mother now he was trying to tell her would she could and could not do.How many times time has she confided in him about how manipulative her family was? How many times had she expressed to him that she wanted to be her own cat, not controlled by others? Did he even heard a single word that had passed between them?
"I am not making YOU do anything, YOU are trying to force ME. Ever since I took you at my mate, you are there every step of the way trying to control my every action and I am DONE with it. Oakshade you and I are FINISHED" Tinymutiny spat, stepping to the side and pushing past him towards the tunnels
If Oakshade was bothered by what his now ex-mate said, his expression didn't show it. He stood there for a moment while she walked away deep in thought. He was looking at Foxbane but not really, his eyes were distant. Just before she reached the entrance to the tunnel he howled and stormed after Tinymutiny, yet again placing himself directly in front of her path. He did not crouch down to speak to her at eye level.
"You do not mean what you said." His voice was quiet but seething, terrifying really, he had never sounded like this before, "You are trying to force me into a corner where I just roll over and let you have your way. And you know what? Usually I do. Because I love you. I'd give my life for you - hell, I very nearly did give my life for you. But not this time. There's more at stake than either of our whims. You keep telling me to stop treating you like a kit. How about you stop acting like one? You are going to go and see Littlestar right now and this is your final warning. Don't make me count to three."
