Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The she-cat shrugged, a little touched by her clanmate's concern. "I don't know. I'm just still unhappy about earlier," Lightpaw admitted, sitting down with a sigh and wrapping her brown tail around her paws. She glanced at the dead birds by Skypaw. "I want the first prey I kill to be because I earned it, not because I had help."

An amused smile came to Skypaw's face as he thought about how the mother blue jay had originally chased them away. He felt the top of his head where a lump had formed from her peck. "I bet we sure looked funny running from that bird!" he chuckled. Now that it was over, the event started to seem funny to him. "But I think I understand how you feel about your first catch. Tell you what - let's keep going toward the falls. We might find something else along the way to catch. Maybe you'll still get your first solo kill today." He scraped dirt over the two birds so they could collect them on their way back to camp.
She smiled at Skypaw as he rubbed at his head. He sure knew how to cheer her up. "You bet," she replied, laughing along with him. Lightpaw considered his next words. It would feel so terrible to miss out on prey again, but the idea of going toward the water made her happy. "Sure Skypaw. And if nothing else maybe we can get a swim in!"

"Sure and if you want I can show you how to fish." Skypaw really hoped Lightpaw would catch something while they were out. That would be so cool! he thought. "Bettcha can't keep up with me!" he meowed as he took off running. He couldn't wait to get to the falls. The air was turning warmer as the bright sunlight shone down on his back. He hoped a rainbow would be there today in the mist that rose from the pool. It was cloudy the last time he was there.
Lightpaw followed him, bounding along joyfully. She could try fishing! Maybe it would be easier than anything else. "In your dreams, mousebrain," she laughed, trying to get ahead of him but falling just a bit short.

Not wanting to show off, Skypaw slowed just a little as he ran so he wouldn't outdistance her too much. It wasn't long until he saw the tall falls and sure enough there was a colorful rainbow spanning the pool at it's base. "Just look at that!" he meowed coming to a stop. "Bet you didn't expect anything like this!"
Lightpaw skidded to a halt as she saw the rainbow in the mist. "Skypaw," she whispered, out of breath from running but also quiet from the sheer amazement. "This is so beautiful."

"Isn't it," Skypaw mewed as he walked up to the pool's edge. Fine droplets of water were beginning to form on the ends of his gray and white fur causing it to sparkle in the bright sunlight. He didn't think he'd ever get tired coming here. The place seemed so magical.
Fish swam past him lazily in the semi-transparent pool. "Look!" he mewed point his tail to the water. "There's some fish here. If you want to try to fish, we'd better do it before we swim." He knew the fish would be skittish if they tried swimming first.
The she-cat beamed at her friend, happy he had brought her here. As Skypaw pointed out the fish and suggested hunting, Lightpaw shook her head vehemently. "Nah, I'm tired of failing to hunt today. Maybe next time! Let's just swim!"
She jumped into the pool immediately, droplets splashing over to Skypaw. This was something she was actually super good at. Swimming.

"Hey!" Skypaw meowed in surprise as he was showered with cold water. He hadn't expected Lightpaw to jump into the water. He thought she might want to try to fish first.
"If that's the way you want it..." he called out as he jumped into the pool causing a big wave to overtake Lightpaw. The cool water was refreshing on this warm day. It's been so long since I was able to swim just for fun.
The water crashed down on the brown apprentice, and she laughed as it drenched her fur. "You're gonna splash all the water out," she cried out giddily.

"Are you calling me fat?" Skypaw teased. He dove underwater and swam toward Lightpaw. When he came close enough to her, he playfully bit one of her legs. Then with a parting pat, he resurfaced. "Better watch out," he cautioned. "There's cat eating fish in this pool."

Lightpaw fake gasped, swimming away from Skypaw in a panicked rush. Why was her friend making her heart flutter so much right now? She pushed the thought away.
"Yeah, I am! How much prey are you eating anyway? Our kits are gonna starve!"

"I'm not eating any!" Skypaw mewed with a laugh as he swam around Lightpaw in a circle. His joke didn't go over well. "I meant there's a fish that eats cats in this pool, you know, a 'cat-eating' fish. That's what bit you on the leg, a hungry fish."
He liked how the sun glistened off of Lightpaw's fur as she swam around in the pool. She sure is pretty!
She purred and swam with him, rotating her body as he circled. "Oh really? Maybe I'll catch my first fish after all!"
Lightpaw surged forward in the water, somehow much more graceful in this environment than on land. She reached out to bat at his head above the water, aiming at pushing him down into it.

Not expecting her attack, Skypaw was taken by surprise as his head was pushed underwater. I'll get her! Still submerged, he swam under Lightpaw's body and came surging upward. "Ha!" he mewed in triumph. He hadn't had this much fun since he was a kit. What was coming over him? Whatever it was, he liked it.
