|Moonlostneverstarstarstrawberrycupid - no pressure to reply, just didn't want you to miss it if you would like to take part I intend this to primarily be a kits roleplay but any character is welcome to join in as well --- Wispykit looked at the exit to the nursery with eyes freshly opened. Well, she had opened them a couple of weeks ago, but her vision was still fuzzy and not quite fully developed back then. Now, though, she saw light filtering in through the wood opening. The gray she-kit was afraid of it at first but seeing her mother, Stormgazer, come in and out throughout the day made her think that it wasn't so dangerous after all. At the present is was a rare moment in which all of the queens were absent, probably for breakfast, while most of the other kits were fast asleep. There was no one to tell her 'no, you need to stay inside.' It made her anxious. She didn't want to break any rules but she also couldn't suppress her growing curiosity. Well, if she couldn't go out there, at least she could talk about it. "Twisterkit, look how bright it is on the other side today!" She squeaked, poking her brother, "I wonder what it's like out there."
“Well, let’s go out there, then!” Pinekit jumped to her paws, her olive-colored eyes glowing and saying that she hadn’t really been asleep. The small tortoiseshell had only been in SummerClan for a moon, after her mother had dropped her and her sister off from the two-leg place, after she had heard of Ratstar joining the clans. Pinekit has already forgotten about the walls of her old nest and her mother’s face.
Her twin sister, Primrosekit, lifted her head groggily at the sound of her sister’s loud mew. She blinked, her eyes the same color as Pinekit’s, though her dulled with sleep, and tilted her head. “Go where?” She glanced at Wispykit.
"We can't leave the den!" Wispykit chastised Pinekit right away, but it was a little half-hearted. She did not realize that she had instigated this whole thing yet but oddly enough she felt a little bit guilty about it. She fluffed up her gray pelt and turned to face the more awake of the twins, "We could get into trouble!"

The small tom kit was trying to drift back to sleep but at his sister's words he poked his head up and looked in the direction she was looking in, "it does look wonderful." He stood as the twins approached, stretching and yawning luxuriously but Twisterkit's eyes went wide as Wispykit chastised them, "would we really get in trouble though?" The small kit twitched his tail mischievously, "curiosity is important for cats of SummerClan! Roachpelt told me so."
"Well, I mean, Stormgazer never said we could go out there by ourselves." Wispykit said, looking at her feet a little nervously. A few of these kits had been on there before, now that she thought about it, but none in her litter. They were too little, not even walking properly yet, "So I think we would get in trouble. Probably."
“Nobody would even notice we were gone,” Pinekit piped in, her fur standing on end in excitement now as Twisterkit was on her side. “We could be in and out, faster than you can say mousedung,” her ears were tipped forward, her gaze pleading with Wispykit. “And even if they do find us, we can just say we didn’t mean too...” It was clear that Pinekit was going to cause trouble the older she got.
“Leave the den?” Primrosekit shivered, her eyes darting out to look into the territory. “We can’t go out there! Wispykit’s right. Even if we don’t get caught by the queens, who knows what’s out there. Foxes, badgers, dogs!” The she-kit shivered again. “You’re always trying to be grown, Pinekit. We can’t fight anything, we’re not even apprentices yet.”

"Why would a dog be so close to the den?" Twisterkit meowed dismissively, siding whole-heartedly with Pinekit. I think mother would be proud of us for being so curious about our clan. And we can learn so much even before we're apprentices! Think of it Wispykit: we'll be so well trained that we could be warriors faster than the other kits!" He paced around his sister, fur fluffed with excitement, "I won't go without you, Wispykit, but I really wanna go!"
Wispykit did not want to be a kill-joy, but Twisterkit was very convincing. It would be a good experience - what other kits ventured out of the den at their age? She glance back at Primrosekit who seemed to be the only other kit in the nursery who shared her caution. She was very aware that if she left the den, the rest would probably follow, even if they didn't really want to. Foxes, badgers, dogs, all very real concerns, she had never seen one before but she had heard the stories. Her mother wasn't far, though. She'd be protected. She hoped so, anyway... Wisperkit let out a sigh and put her eyes on her brother, "I don't want to go... but... so long as you lead the way, Twisterkit, I guess just looking outside wouldn't be that bad..."
Primrosekit could tell that she was losing the argument, her ears back on her head as she glanced between the three kits that were in front of her. She wanted to curl back up in her nest and sleep, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to as long as her sister was out in the territory, facing all of its dangers. She sighed.
“Does that mean we’re going?” Pinekit purred, a shiver of excitement running down her tail. She hardly noticed Primrosekit behind her. “I’ve wanted to go out there forever. It’s no fair the apprentices get to, they’re not that much older than us,” she snorted. She began to pace, peering out of the den to see if the queens were still busy.
Ashkit woke up in her own little nest. She had been found alone a few moons ago and was nearly ready to be promoted. The blue kit was getting more and more bored of staying in the camp. Stepping out of the nest and stretching she made her way over to the gathering of kits. “The camp is fun, but do you know what’s better?” Her green eyes looked over the younger kits. “Outside camp, there is so much out there to see.” Ashkit had probably jumped past several levels of trouble right to the big one.

Despite being one of the younger kits, the little brown bundle that was Skykit didn't even hesitate in joining the group. "We should, we should!" She bounced on her paws. Ever since she opened her eyes, her mother Mudthistle has been dragging her back from the nursery entrance. She wanted nothing more than to get out and see it, the thing she was named after. Not just the snippets of it, but to actually stand under it. "At the worse, we'll just get scolded a little bit. And if that stops us, we'll never be able to leave this place."
Wispykit say the excitement in Skykit's eyes and sighed. There was no backing out of this now. She glanced at Twisterkit and hoped he would make the first over but when he didn't she sucked it up and lead the way. The little gray kit poked her head out of the barky main entrance and winced against the bright mid-day sun. Her eyes were still sensitive to bright lights so she squeaked and stepped back, stumbling into a kit who had gotten a little too close to her, "It's so bright!"

Skykit hesitated somewhat, right up next to Wispykit by the entrance. She was right, it was really bright. Though her eyes hurting only made her want to push forward. Her gaze was glued to the ground, but even the feeling of alive grass under her paws made her want to continue. It was such a rich green. She wanted to see more.
"Skykit, remember, we are just looking," Wispykit warned even as she felt her own paws reach out to bat at the very blade of grass that Skykit was watching. She just couldn't help it. It was big and bright, even a little warm to the touch, all too welcoming a toy of a kit as young as she was.

Sure, they could just watch. But the feeling was part of it too. The strange texture of dirt underneath her paws, the way the wind made her short fur ruffle. It was a sensation feast, a veritable smorgasbord she was ready to eat. Just as soon as Wispykit was distracted, Skykit began making her way away from the others.

Twisterkit had let fear briefly overtake him, he hadn't been able to lead Wispykit and instead his sister had been forced to step up, but the moment had past and he'd followed her and now stood with her. "Wispykit," he meowed reasonably, "we won't go far but, aren't you curious?" Out of the corner of his eyes he saw Skykit creep away and decided the best way to keep them all together was to convince Wispykit this was okay.
"No, we should sta--- SKYKIT! Where do you think you are going?!" Wispykit began to reply to Twisterkit only to be cut off when she realized that one of the other kits had already fully left the nursery without her even realizing it. Her gray fur stood on end for a second but she forced it smooth and took a step toward Skykit, "Twisty, if she gets caught outside, I'll get in trouble because I encouraged it! We gotta get her back inside before anyone else notices."

Twisterkit didn't think it was that serious, but he certainly hated seeing his sister upset. So with a nod he padded off after Skykit, "hey! Whatcha up to?" He followed her, interested in her destination. He had to admit that the impulse to explore was beginning to win him over, but one look back at his sister's upset face made his resolve harden. There was no way he'd allow Wispykit to get in trouble just because he'd encouraged a mouse-brained idea.

Skykit heard them, but didn't react like most. No spinning on her heel and trying to explain herself. Nope. She just kept going, a train on only one set of tracks. The kind that only led her further and further away. The idea of getting in trouble never bothered her, not the possibility of getting others in trouble. Instead, she kept walking, only pausing briefly when Twisterkit asked her a question. "Explorin'." The little brown kit replied, deadpan before suddenly getting a burst of energy. Hopping away from Twisterkit, her little paws began to scramble and pull at whatever she could grab. Only to see what was underneath.
