Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lionwhisper froze at the cadet's word. A small voice in his head urged him to listen. It was infuriating, but he knew better to go against his gut feeling. It was just a shock to feel that his gut urged him to listen to a trespasser. He remained motionless, his eyes adjusted to the darkness around them. He listened to the cadet's instructions, his brow furrowed with suspicion. Anyone would instinctively mistrusted instructions of a stranger, especially an intruder, but Lionwhisper thought deeply on the cadet's perspective, placing himself outside of his our judgement. The Regime knew their ways around tunnels well, much more than an clan cat. Though there was a chance the cadet could attempt an escape, the Knight had faith he could manage what ever the young cat could throw at him. From the looks of it earlier, it didn't seem as though he had much combat training if his default was a snowball fight.
"Get us out of here and quick." Lionwhipser spoke, his words deep and calm. "The faster we get back, the more you cooperate, the less of a chance that your mates with leave here unscathed-" Growls and yowls from above interrupted the Knight's words, as if on cue. He had no concern for the patrol. They were more than capable of handling a couple of apprentices on their own. The sounds most likely came from the Regime cats. "Sounds like your friends are in need of some help." Unlike his previous words, these were eerily quiet, a threat playing on the edges of each syllable "You better hurry."
(Are any of these Cadet's going to escape and make it back to the RR to warn them? If so who?)
His natural instinct told him to submissive to the much larger tom, but he wasn't. He walked with his head and tail up high, "Alright then let's go," He said, but couldn't help but look in the direction of the screams as though he could see through the walls. His heart ached for them, especially Cadet Louella who he could hear the most. She was so little, she didn't have enough discipline to know how to behave right or who to pick a fight with. Heck she shouldn't have even picked a fight, she wasn't a mercenary, but again, she was young.
He led Lionwhisper down a passage before saying, "hold on," and proceeding to gently tap the floor ahead with his tail as a giant mound of snow fell out from the ceiling covering up half the space forcing them to squeeze through. He had a knack for creating traps, specifically for animals, but in this case intruders. He could have gone around the trap given his size and allowed Lionwhisper's large body to get covered in snow giving him a chance to sprint ahead, but he could hear that his friends were hurt. He also knew the state of the Regime, if he ran now and got away he wasn't sure if there would be a rescue patrol anytime soon. Everyone was starving, they would just make him work and force him to forget about the cadets he left behind until newleaf, he couldn't abandon his comrades for that long, he wanted to be with them. "I've been around enough soldiers to know you're observing if I'll run, but I won't leave my friends."
Cadet Zion slowed his pace when they made it to the entrance and slipped out to the side sitting down. His attentive gaze staring up at Lionwhisper for direction, most cats his age would look afraid in this situation, lucky for him he had long bangs covering his eyes so maybe he was afraid, but no one would know it.
(Mine is joining WinterClan after being given the choice to stay locked up or join)
(We can just say one was hiding the entire time and escaped. We don't have to name that character. Loulla's gonna be captured <3)
"Well I hope it does stay on your fur that long, red looks terrible on you." Cadet Louella said to Frostcloud bitterly right before Cadet Zion exited his snowy maze. Looks like he had been captured too, but he didn't seem near as beat up as she was. She had been proud to be the only one to pick a real fight but as a result she had the most wounds. There was a lesson to learn here but her back was throbbing and all she could think about was how bad she wanted to curl up and fall asleep.
(Corriander can slip away from frigidpaw while they are headed back, I had no plans for her to stay in WIC long anyway)
Her limbs began to tingle the longer she lay in the snow, still being held by the young apprentice. "May I sit up? The snow is making my legs go numb, I'm not used to this kind of cold.." her words were naturally soft and polite, speaking to Frigidpaw as she would anyone in the Regime; as she waited for a reply she could feel herself beginning to figet.
Lionwhisper followed closely behind the cadet, feeling tense and suffocated by the rather small and tight space. The knight had never been in a such confining spaces. He could never understand how cats could live in the tunnels like this. It made his skin crawl in an unnerving way.
Following the young cat, he paused when instructed, watching as a snow trap descended just ahead of them. Despite the uncomfortable situation, he could help but feel impressed by the sight. His focus sharpened as he watched the apprentice squeeze through the tight space. With no hesitation, the Knight followed, having to push by with more force thanks to his large size. Part of him feared the young cat would take advantage of the moment to run, but the knight was ready, his muscles clenching tightly in preparation of a chase but the cadet made it clear that it would not be an issue. Something in his words made Lionwhisper trust him and his body unclentched though part of his mind was still at edge, ready for the unexpected. It did not take much longer for the two to make it out. Lionwhisper couldn't help but sigh in relief, taking in his surroundings quickly before returning his gaze to the young cadet.
"That is commendable of you." Lionwhisper spoke up, staring at the young cadet. "Help me end this swiftly." He asked, his words calm but sternly, maintaining the hint of threat. "I don't want anyone more hurt than they are." He paused, his ears flickering as he caught the sounds of others in the distance. "Your friends trust you. If you can talk them into coming peacefully, no one else will get hurt. You have my word."
“You have the chance to stop this too, your apprentice is holding Cadet Corriander into the snow, she’s shivering. If she doesn’t fight back she could freeze with her short fur. Any apprentice with eyes should be able to see that she’s submitted.”
Cadet Zion walked past Lionwhisper looking over to each of the cadets, but whatever had happened in the tunnels was over, they had for now given up. “He said if we walk back nicely none of us will get hurt.” He walked over by Cadet Louella and lied down, “You can climb onto my back, I’ll keep you warm and out of the snow." He licked her cheek three times, he could tell she was hurt and while he did so lovingly he also licked her out of fear that she was getting tired and would pass out from the injury.
"I'm still angry with you but thanks for the ride," Cadet Louella rubbed her face against Cadet Zion and gave him a little kiss on the cheek before clambering up on his back. She was very sore and squeaked in pain as she got settled into his fluffy white fur. She saw a little bit of her blood turn his pelt a brilliant red and frowned. That scratch better not scar, "Thank you for coming back, I guess... I'm sure you could have gotten away if you really wanted to. Probably would have been better off." It wasn't really in Louella's nature to be nice but she was hurt and cats said and did weird things when they were in pain.
(sorry for the short reply! but figured phantom's cat could escape here)
Frigidpaw wasn't really use to this whole warrior thing yet, so without really thinking he released his grip on the cadet. Staying close and keeping an eye on the other cat, and yet the cat still managed to escape. Scrambling in the snow to go after the cadet, Frigidpaw tumbled over his own paws.
"Oh come on, Fridgidpaw!" Frostcloud yelled, frustrated that the apprentice fell for such a naive trick. "Thats the oldest trick! Great. Now shes going to go get all of Renegade Regime and probably make up some bee-brained story about how we kitnapped them on their own territory! Good job, Frigidpaw." Frostcloud's voice rang with sarcasm as she lashed her tail.
(Alright, let's wrap things up here. It'll be a month before RR makes it over to WIC about these cadets. Mostly because this thread has dragged on for about that long and it'll help explain the transition between leadership in RR. The next part is up and you're welcome to reply to it here)
(Just for reassurance I'm going to reply with Coriander running)
It had been a decision made in the moment, but as soon as Frigidpaw released her, she got to her paws and ran, kicking snow up behind her as she vanished. Coriander could feel tears burning her eyes, she knew despite leaving her friends behind that she was doing the right thing, she had to get back home and find help but still, pain gripped at her heart not knowing what would happen to them while they waited for rescue. The stinging of the cold began to fade the harder she pushed herself to keep moving, her sides heaving as adrenaline rushed through her.
