Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lionwhisper stared as Frostcloud dragged a young cat into their circle. She seemed to be around the age of an apprentice. He stared at the young cat, moving towards her with careful and precise steps, his overtly large form creating a menacing and intimidating impression the closer he came. His bright amber eyes took in Cadet Louella's own pair with intense scrutiny before speaking, a growl playing at the edge of his deep voice "Intruding so deeply into Winterclan is treason enough, we have no choice but to take her as prisoner." The Knight spoke up with a matter-of-factual tone, his intense stare taking in the Cadet for a moment before proceeding "But whether we take her dead or live depends on if her partners come out of hiding and join her." The tom's last words were eerily calm despite the blatant threat. "You either reveal your cats to us or they reveal themselves for your life." For those who did not know the tom well, it was near impossible to distinguish the bluff.
Upon hearing the threat and the fact that she could no longer breathe in her hiding place, Cadet Coriander dug her way out of the snow, taking a gasping breath as she coughed. "Dont hurt her, please!" She ignored the white plastered to her bright calico pelt and ran toward the she-cat, willing to take the brunt of anything Lionwhisper had in store despite the fact that she was training to be a raiser and knew nothing of combat.
Wolfbee was focused on the small cat Frostcloud had found until another appeared, she could hear the fear and desperation as she called out. "I agree, we cant let them go, we must take them prisoner. Where is the other one?" She asked before scenting the air, three distinct cats all carrying the Regimes particular scent.
'By the Blind Protector,' Cadet Bumble thought eyes narrowing, tail lashing. She crouched and edged out of the tunnel scenting the air trying to detect where the last of the fellow cadets might be. Trying to determine if they were within reach of her and she could pull them back in to go back and let the rest of the regime know about the trouble.
Frostcloud's cold, unforgiving blue eyes were torn from Cadet Louella's and directed threateningly at Cadet Coriander. Still, she couldnt help but admire the bravery that the young cat revealed when Lionwhisper threatened to harm her friend. She knew Lionwhisper wasnt heartless. Intimidating, yes, but never heartless. Frostcloud was quiet intimidating in her own way. She was rough around the edges, had cold and cruel eyes, and a harsh voice laced with jagged ice. She was that type of calm that made cats feel highly uncomfortable especially under her gaze. "Yes." She agreed with Lionwhisper. She swiveled her ears when Wolfbee dared the last cat to reveal themselves.
"UH, WATCH IT!" Louella struck out wildly with claws on all four paws unsheathed. The scarf she had been wearing around her neck loosened and fell off as she struggled against Frostcloud. In her flailing, she snagged a claw in the wool and couldn't quite shake it loose, and it distracted her long enough to become totally pinned down by her WinterClan adversary. The cadet was truly closer to five moons than she was six and had barely had any training at that, hardly much of a challenge for any Warrior aged cat. Once Frostcloud got a good grip on her scruff, her body instinctually went limp. She let out a loud scream,"CADET ZION, HELP ME!!!"
She would have continued screaming had Lionwhisper not gotten right up in her face. It was hard for her to breathe much less talk when in such close quarters with an intimidating tom like him. She could barely move a paw, too. Nonetheless, her pelt bristled in response to his orders to reveal her colleagues' location. She closed her eyes and turned her head away with a hmpth, "I'm not telling you anything. I've never met a tom so rude. And I was raised in the League!"
Well, maybe she had revealed that she had more cats with her, especially since she had called out to Cadet Zion in a moment of panic. Could you blame her? He had the knight-in-shining armor vibe, at least at a glance. Imagine Louella's surprise when that knight ended up being Cadet Coriander. The she-cat had always been friendly, but Louella hadn't pegged her as brave, too. She gave the fellow she-cat a somber look as if to say "sorry."
(so sorry for the delayed reply! I'll be watching this thread a little more closely )
'Ah, so it's Zion,' At least now Bumble knew who she was trying to find before they could also get caught by the WinterClan patrol.
The mute she cat slowly crawled out further from the tunnel, mouth open as much as she could breathing in trying to pinpoint Zion. Then it would be a matter of grabbing Zion and booking it back for the tunnel. She hadn't yet had to try and report back to the Commander, and it would be a frustrating game of charades she'd rather not take the time for. Having Zion to bring back would allow for a much quicker transfer of information.
Cadet Zion was rolling his eyes, yeah right, he was already calling that cats bluff, he wasn't going to hurt her and until they started walking away he wasn't convinced they were going to imprison her either... NOT that he had done this before or anything. Okay he stole prey a lot, the Regime was always hungry! When he stole prey he would get caught every once in a while, but most cats just acted tough and let him off with a warning. He figured the same would definitely be done here, especially when they had only intruded and not stolen prey. When Cadet Coriander admitted revealed himself he still stayed put, waiting this out until he heard signs that they were in danger. This wasn't his first or last time hiding in the snow from grownups.
"CADET ZION, HELP ME!!!"
His ears flattened, he wished he could tell her that they were bluffing, that he'd been through this plenty of times and no one was going to hurt anyone, but at the same time if things did get bad he needed to run back and get reinforcements. He couldn't lead with his heart like Cadet Coriander did, now what was she going to do? Keep her company if they both got locked up? That and he had to hope they didn't know he was the past commanders son or one of the few scouts left or they could use that as leverage. It was up to him and Bumble to get reinforcements and even that was an uncertainty at the moment, especially when no one here was a mercenary. On the bright side maybe they wouldn't even be able to find him. The wind blew his scent off, his tracks were completely gone and he was prepared to live in this underground igloo for as long as it took. It also helped that he had white fur to blend in. Still he listened closely, he wasn't a mercenary, but if they tried to hurt Cadet Louella or Cadet Coriander he would lead with his heart and against the odds fight with everything in him to try and protect them.
Cadet Coriande could feel Frostclouds gaze shift to her, but it was too late now to run and so she took in a breath and looked back at the white she-cat with bright green eyes.
Frostcloud had enough of the games and turned her gaze away from Coriander. She pushed Louella into the snow and held a claw at her throat. "Whoever this Zion fellow is better show his face now or your little girl friend dies!" There was an eerie seriousness in her eyes as she scanned the scenery, coldly, baring her teeth.
Cadet Zion let out a warm sigh, he had created a complete tunnel system in this mound of snow. Turns out snow was wayyyy easier to burrow in than dirt. Just when he was getting comfy his ear perked up at Frostcloud's threat. Should he take the west entrance or or the north? Or the northwest exit? He wasn't mentored by the last scout superior and past Commander Mars to come up with no skills.
Frostcloud was slammed in the side of a face, it was hard, but nothing like a cats paws, it was a snowball.
"Actually according to section 5 of amendment A it says, thou shall not kill cadets who accidentally roam into WinterClan territory. Hate the sin, not the sinner." At the very top of the mound of snow was Cadet Zion, he almost wasn't noticeable right away, his white fur allowed him to blend in seamlessly, even his eyes weren't noticeable behind the giant bangs of fur, he almost seemed to turn invisible if you weren't looking at the right angle.
"We're very sorry for intruding, we have no neighbors so we're just used to walking as we please, reckless, I know. Anyways if you can please let my friends go I would love you forever. If you do not surrender my friends I understand I'm outnumbered, but know this. I will not go down easy and you will have the biggest snowball fight of your lives." Cadet Zion said, but his voice was too kind to come off menacing, "It will be called Zion's Snowball War, people will say, remember the snowball war and my name will live on for generations!" He said with a whimsical wave of his paws. Anyone who tried to creep up near him were sent a fat wave of snow or surprisingly impactful kick to the face. The patrol was literally going to have to fight an uphill battle to get to him. That and his intricate snow tunnel system was only an inch away, he could easily dive into it before anyone snatched their paws onto him. "Now get those pretty manicured claws off of Louella because there's more ammo where that came from, sweetheart."
Frostcloud was caught off guard by the impact of the snowball. She swung her cruel stare toward Zion. "If you think this is a game, you are sadly mistaken! You have until the count of three to surrender! And dont think I won't kill your little girl friend because some renegade Regime kit told me so! Get down here or she dies! Final warning! One....two..."
Cadet Zion neatly packed the snowballs as Frostcloud spoke, "I'm sorry, what are you counting to? Is it like three or is it ten? Like when should I start being concerned? Cause if you kill her at three that's just rude, how was I supposed to know? OH! Maybe you should do a countdown, that would be extra helpful. Okay, okay, okay, keep going, countdown this time," He said as he assembled his snowballs in a row. Not a moment went by where he didn't make sure he knew every cats location to ensure no one jumped him, but at this point he seemed to have all the snowballs he wanted.
Frostcloud was confused by Zion. Most cats feared her but this young tom was fearless. She shook her head to clear the confusion. "I'm going to count down, then! And when I say ONE, I will slit her throat!" By now, Frostcloud looked less serious and clearly bluffing at this point. "Three!...Two!...One!" The white knight raised her paw to 'strike' Louella.
Another snowball went flying. This one wide and wild, the ball falling apart on impact.
Cadet Bumble had thrown it to use as a distraction to draw attention elsewhere as she tried to tunnel over to Zion. Only the barest traces of her golden fur spotted before she disappeared into the snow. They needed to get out of here. The sooner the better. Since Zion hadn’t fled for help, Bumble would have to grab him and then go quickly.
She found Zion’s tunnels in the snow and followed them, heading towards him.
He noticed Cadet Bumble headed towards him, "I got your back, Bumble!" Cadet Zion called out to her as he kicked out snowball after snowball at any cat who tried to come near her.
"Snowball! Snowball! Snowball! Snowball!" He shouted at every launch, they showered down from the heavens like arrows, penetrating the WinterClan patrol in a brutal storm of cold and powdery snow. But with the powdered snow came little room to see what was going on.
"Try and run!" Cadet Zion shouted to Cadets Coriander and Louella.
He was running out of snowballs, but at least Bumble was coming up and would be able to help him make more if it came to it. They had to defend Mount Zion while their comrades were still in danger, after all.
"ZION, YOU HAVE CLAWS, WHAT IS THE HOLD UP, I'M A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS." Cadet Louella was also still very much Louella-chan. She liked to be pampered and protected and the cat she had chosen as her knight in this scenario was not doing a good job at all. Well, if he wasn't going to save her, then she would have to take matters into her own paws. The only reason she had been so submissive so far was because she had been scruffed. Zion did one right with his stupid snowball attack: Frostcloud was distracted just enough for the cinnamon tabby to launch a counter-attack. She saw the WinterClan Warrior's paw coming for her and opened her maw with a hiss, biting down on her opponent's foot until she tasted blood. Cadet Louella couldn't tell if it was her blood or Frostcloud's, though; she could feel her opponent's claws digging into her cheek and tongue. She could deal with the pain easy. At least it wasn't her face.
Frostcloud was taken completely by surprise at the sudden snowball attack. While distracted, Louella bit down on Frostcloud's snow white paw. The white warrior howled in pain, yanking her paw free of Louella's tiny teeth. "Why you little brat! Your going to regret this!" She spat at Louella. It was hard to see anything as snowballs rained down on them, hitting her in the face, the head, her body. They were everywhere. Frustrated, Frostcloud packed her own snowball and shot it at Zion. "Take that!" She snarled. This was beyond her and she was ashamed that she was even participating in such a childish game.
(Frostcloud can do real damage to Louella if she wants, I'd rather not go too crazy but it makes sense given the age and experience difference! Just don't mess with her face please )
When Frostcloud pulled her paw free, Cadet Louella felt even more blood gush into her mouth. She ran her sore tongue across her teeth and realized there was a vacancy where her canine used to be. She was stock-still for a moment before puffing up to max fluffiness. She looked extremely cute but was on a war path, "GIVE BACK MY TOOTH!" she howled and launched herself as Frostcloud's face, aiming to do some serious damage to the pretty white Warrior's nose bridge.
The sudden snowball fight was the perfect time to strike. Lionwhisper located the toss of the first snowball and launched himself forward in a blitz of speed and strength. Having been far to occupied in their childish and rather distracting snowball fight, the cadets made the mistake of preparing for the full brute force of the experienced Knight. There were far to many cats to aim for and the few snowball that did hit Lionwhipser barley affected him, this iron-willed focus pushing back the snow as he launched himself onto the distracted Cadet Zion. Being a large breed of cat himself, it was easy to pin the small cadet under his full weight. Upon his heavy landing, Lionwhipser lashed out, a huge, bearlike paw striking out at Bumble with full force. The knight's claws were not extended, but the blow was heavy and hard, causing the small cat to fly off a few tail lengths, ending the reign of snow balls.
"Get her!" Lionwhisper snarled to the rest of the patrol, the claws on his other paw extending threatening as he gripped tightly to the Cadet under him.
