Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"All those old enough to catch their own prey meet at pointed stones."
Glowstar sat at the pointed stones, "As you know it won't be long till leafbare arrives. Because of our vast open lands and farm fields it leaves us vulnerable to blizzards. The cats that are brave enough to push themselves to hunt out in this cold weather often get trapped in white outs and die from being unable to find shelter or dig any sort of ditch due to the frigid temperatures. We have the small ponds in camp that have frogs. We can eat the frogs that hibernate, but that will not be enough. The fruit we do have in DayClan such as the apples will be long gone. In other words, we're screwed as usual. Last leafbare we all survived by leaving our camp and moving to the Keepers Mansion. It was warmer there and although we still starved we had a better shelter. Before leafbare comes we need to make a decision now, do we stay in DayClan camp, rejecting the two-leg den way of life. Or do we move to the Keepers Mansion knowing it's a better chance of survival."
Leafbare after leafbare it came to the same struggle. No food. No nesting materials. It went through the same apocalyptic scenario. The mothers and kits were given food and shelter, but as time dwindled on warriors became weak and started eating first because without their strength no one could go out and hunt. In leafbare they were less of a family and more like strangers who shared the same life raft.

"We survived in the Keepers Mansion once, we can do it again." Eternallaughter's voice rose up in response almost immediately, the Immortal Council member sitting with his tail curled neatly around his paws as he glanced around at the clan. "Leafbare is a time to put aside our pride and do what is best for the clan. So what if we're living in a twoleg den? It's the best shelter we can hope to have during leafbare, and I'd rather the clan survive, than die due to stubbornness." They'd sacrificed their pride once to do it, and they'd survived to tell the tale. To the tabby tom, it made sense they'd do it again, knowing it increased their chances of survival.
"The most important thing is that we all live through leaf-bare. At the Keeper's mansion, we have a much better chance." Voidedmemories pointed out with the flick of her tail.
Windchaser had been listening the different solutions had until Eternallaughter had mentioned living in the twoleg dens. "I will never live in the twoleg dens! " she hissed, rising to her paws. "I think we should move to the mansion. Our pride will be crushed if we decide to live with those hairless creatures. Our pride will remain if we take shelter where we belong."
Glowstar listened to her council and warrior and thought for a moment before speaking, "We can't ignore leafbare and the Keepers Mansion is safe. There are no two-legs, two-leg built sure, but its inhabitants long gone for generations of leaders. We will still live by the warrior code, but move there to keep our clan safe and warm. The snow can come down any moment, any day. It is better to leave now. All the patrols are already back in camp. Let's pickup our prey, take our kits and leave. Let i be known that even if the snow isn't bad at first or if the snows temper dies down we will not return home until leafbare has official ended. There's no saying when a rogue blizzard can hit. Everyone, start getting ready."
Glowstar leapt down from the pointed stones turning towards the nursery. The ground felt cool which meant it wasn't entirely unlikely for snow to fall and remain on the ground. If they were lucky they could still attend the upcoming gathering. Her clan didn't know the tunnel system like some other members knew it, but they could possibly travel through the tunnels to get out of DayClan territory and towards the forest land where they could head out.

A lone figure pushed through the crowd, making her way to the forefront of DayClan's little meeting, body covered in distinctive paints that signaled whom she was in an instant.
Foxstar didn't stop until she stood in front of the clan, her gaze meeting Glowstar's as a smile formed on her face. "I have a better idea. How about you spend the winter in SunClan?" If there wasn't silence before, now everyone had fallen dead silent, simply staring at the SunClan Priestess as she made the outrageous suggestion, a smile playing across her features, though her tone clearly indicated she was serious. "Unless you'd like to be starve in the Mansion, that is."
She'd entered some time ago, watching the meeting silently until an opportunity presented itself to come forth. Sure, she could have interrupted, but where would the fun be in that? No, no, no, she much preferred to see how this played out before making any rash decision. As such, she gave no orders to the cats lurking around the camp's entrance for the time being.
Glowstar's ears pricked at the sound of Foxstar's voice. She spun on her toes, she looked more curious than intimidating. Foxstar always wanted something though, this wasn't out of the goodness of her heart. If she could trust her, if this was Burningstar, she wouldn't hesitate at the generosity. Not while her clans lives were at risk would she put her pride over their clans. But Foxstar, she didn't trust. Whatever her motive, it wasn't worth shelter and prey. Having gone there, she knew the risks.
"Sweet of you to remember that this is the toughest time for us," Glowstar said, making her way over to Foxstar and coming to a halt about tail length away, "However Keepers Mansion just has more space. We'll be closer to your border anyhow, if you'd like I can send some of my warriors to hunt for your clan and in return we get one piece of prey per hunt. It'll better our odds than whatever we have on our territory and will grant you some extra warriors."
It wasn't a no and it wasn't a yes. Whatever Foxstar wanted it wouldn't involve everyone if she sent a few out to patrol for her clan. She could figure out exactly what Foxstar's motives were without endangering everyone as a whole. It also granted for a time whatever Foxstar wanted and for a time that would hopefully hold her off. For a brief moment, Glowstar's gaze moved to Flyingcolors the medicine cat. Was the prophecy she gave her about Foxstar?
Instead of preparing, Voidedmemories stayed close to her mother, listening to the pair of leaders. It was unfortunate that Dragonswrath wasn't with the Sunclan Priestess. Dragonswrath had looked after her during her pregnancy during a journey she had decided to take, so she enjoyed talking to him.

"No, please, I insist." Foxstar purred, something darker behind her gaze than before as she stepped closer, her tail giving a small twitch that caused a few cats to break from the shadows, the SunClan cats looking none to friendly, though even still, the High Priestess didn't give the order to attack, giving one last chance for Glowstar to submit peacefully. The ivy eyed feline's expression, however, was a confirmation that her offer had darker motives, ones that the DayClan cats would not appreciate.
She wasn't giving Glowstar the chance to compromise, not this time. Either the leader could submit to whatever nefarious things the SunClan Priestess had planned, or she could try and fight. Those were the only two options she had, and neither were particularly pleasant given how near leafbare was.
Darkcomplex stepped out awkwardly into camp, his expression neutral, though he wasn't altogether certain that he really wanted to be here. Not that he got much of a choice, of course. So instead the tom occupied himself by watching the Priestess, waiting for her orders.
Any normal moon DayClan and SunClan were about equal, but many of their she-cats were queens, they just had kits, even Glowstar. They were outnumbered. She knew her cats though, they would want to go down fighting. Glowstar leaned her head to the side looking past Foxstar, "Darkcomplex, get in the nursery and make sure there's not some idiot who accidentally hurts our kits. You know how Foxy and I like to play a little too rough sometimes," she smiled with a playful wink before settling her gaze on Foxstar once more, "I assume you'd want one of your own to protect kits that belong to you after all."
Glowstar unsheathed her claws and rubbed the smooth ends against her chest fur, "If any of your cats can pin any of my cats to the ground with their claws to their throats we'll go with you, no struggle. So long as you follow the warrior code for this fight that is. If you don't, if you hurt our kits, medicine cats, queens, kill someone in combat after we've surrendered, you'll be here for a while. Maybe we're outnumbered, but dragging me down was tough enough for you, having to drag an entire clan just seems annoying."
Glowstar moved gently beside Foxstar sitting down next to her, "Oh, and you and I will sit out of this fight, no leaders allowed. If you agree to these terms then we'll see where we're going."
DayClan fought Primal Instinct before and knew how devastated the clan was. DayClan wasn't used to fighting with someone who didn't follow the warrior code. If SunClan cooperated and won fairly, they would. If SunClan didn't then there was no way DayClan, even under her leadership would ever follow SunClan willingly, not if they were foxhearted brutes.
Voidedmemories sucked in her breath at the request. Glowstar wanted them to fight?? She melted into the crowd, quietly preparing everycat for the possible battle.

"Choose your champion." Usually, a quick agreement from a cat was a good thing. In Foxstar's case, that was absolutely terrible. The Priestess didn't let herself get ordered around, and to so easily agree to something meant she had a trick up her sleeve. All the same, she sat down, her tail curling around her paws as she waited for Glowstar to make her choice.
Darkcomplex didn't slip fully into the nursery, instead simply sitting before it to watch the fight, while also maintaining access to his kits, should the need arise.
"I can take them, trust me," Soaringdawn said stepping forward.
"Oh, absolutely not. I may as well just walk over to SunClan now, sit back down," Glowstar said, waving Soaringdawn away, he was an emissary with literally no training and whatever, starclan would guide him mindset he was thinking, it wasn't going to happen. Instead Glowstar glanced around, but Wispyfeather walked forward, "Yeah okay, sure, just anyone step forward. You know, let's not choose a Bright Brigade member like my awesome granddaughter over there."
"I will fight," Wispyfeather said with a firm nod to Foxstar.
Fia looked supremely disappointed that Glowstar specifically commented against allowing her to participate. She could kill any one of them without even unsheathing her claws, so she didn't see why she couldn't fight. Maybe it was the fact that she would just kill her opponent. Still, they could take SunClan, couldn't they?
"Darkcomplex. You're her opponent." Foxstar ordered, offering Glowstar a sly smile. "You haven't had the chance to see him fight, so I figured it was about time." She was curious as to Glowstar's reaction truth be told. Glowstar's mate and the father of their kits, fighting one of DayClan. Maybe she'd be excited, or horrified. The Priestess really didn't know, but what she did know, was that she wanted the warrior away from the nursery for her own reasons.
(Poor Fia! That was sarcasm from Glow xD Now she thinks her grandma thinks badly of her, oh my gosh, that's so sad! You know, it's not the fact that DC's being taken over, essentially held prisoners and forced into a cult, but the part that broke my heart is Fia feeling sad, not realizing it was a misunderstanding. My heart lol)
"Look Foxstar, I know what you're trying to do. You want me to see the red in in his eyes, the real monster in him. Watch his claws slaughter skin and teeth lock down onto bone. And I'm just going to tell you now that this is going to be extremely hard to watch, I don't know if I'll be able to contain myself," Glowstar squirmed a bit where she was seated before placing her claws down onto her own paw as if to remind herself not to lose composure. There was no better distraction for herself and she knew it. There's nothing more attractive than a guy fighting. The blood caked onto dark fur, that rage in their eyes, and their shadow black claws moving in and out of fur. She blushed at the thought and dug her claws deeper into her paw, blood seeping around it. Can't let that side of her slip...
Wispyfeather circled closer to Darkcomplex, her claws unsheathed, her body surprisingly low to the ground like a snake, as if she was hunting him rather than preparing for a fight.
( Fia just thinking, "If I'm so awesome, why not just let me murder them? Problem solved." She's very sad that she doesn't get the chance to kill Dark in front of everyone. )
Excitement then. Of course, Foxstar expected her to be rather disappointed, if the warrior's reaction was anything to go by as he stepped up before Wispyfeather.
Darkcomplex really didn't want to leave the nursery. Nor did he really want to fight one of his mate's clan. Why Foxstar had chosen him, he could only guess, but he didn't really expect it to end well. Lowering himself, the silver tabby watched the she-cat intently with mismatched eyes, his expression neutral, though he didn't have the light in his eyes of one thrilled to fight. He really didn't want to hurt her, after all. Ironic, given the reason they were here, but still. He didn't really want to upset Glowstar. Of course, she seemed anything but upset, he noted, taking his eyes off his opponent for the briefest of moments to look at the barely composed leader.

Flyingcolors stood on the edge of the cats where she could watch the fight clearly. As Dayclan's medicine cat she would be needed at the end of this, but she just hoped none of Whispyfeathers' wounds would be too bad or two deep. Seeing Foxstar's sudden appearance had cause her heart to jump up into her throat where it now sat anxiously.
Could this have been part of what Starclan warned her about? She wasn't certain but it made her anxious nonetheless.
Vixenpaw wasn't completely sure what was happening glanced between her mentor and the two cats just starting to fight. Why was SunClan there? Why was one from each clan fighting? She was barely an apprentice - barely accepted by StarClan - and knew she'd be no help to Flyingcolors in whatever healing both cats would need.
Windchaser forced herself to remain where she was, itching to feel the blood of a Sunclan warrior on her paws. She let out a low growl and shot Glowstar an anxious look. This was ridiculous. They should just chase Sunclan out of their camp right now. She dug her claws into the earth to keep herself from lunging at Foxstar herself.
