Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He couldn’t help it if his cheeks warmed, of course, but boy did he feel guilty about it. Letting out a nervous laugh, he was actually quite thankful for the comforting words. A strange, fuzzy excitement settled over him, his old joy at adventuring seeming to return for the night. “Ooh, sounds exciting.” He laughed again, somewhat drowsily. The thought of a comforting place made him somewhat tired. “I can’t wait to see,” he purred, leaning into the touch, ignoring his growing knot of guilt.

Funk had become unaccustomed with guilt. If he wasted all his time worrying about what was right or wrong, he'd just sit in the same place for the rest of his life. He couldn't find it in himself to care, no matter who he had to crush underfoot. Guess that's why PI worked out so well, even if he hated it. "It's really a nice place. A little musty, but you won't even notice it after a while." He guess it was convenient he was the only one residing in the Main House besides Elyon, no one would bother them. Leaving the forest, he scanned the horizon, but no silhouettes poked themselves out. Perfect. Slowly, they approached the Reflection Pool. Normally it was a gathering spot, but right now it was completely empty except for the two of them. "I hope this will do. Nearest river is gonna take us a lot farther."
He leaned over the pool curiously, taking in the water as it reflected the surrounding area. After a few moments, he took a drink, settling his burning throat. “Yeah, it’s fine.” He purred, sitting up. “This place sounds interesting, I can’t wait.” He laughed unevenly, dipping his paw into the water. The ripples weren’t very clear.

"I don't recommend swimming cause you won't get anywhere but I won't stop you." Gently pressing one of his paws on Shaded's chest to keep him in place, only just firm enough to where it would be felt. Funk never bothered wondering how the water in the pool was, but it looked clear enough so it must be somewhat suitable for drinking. Swimming, not as likely. It was a good feet deeper than Funk would think. But he found himself absorbed in watching the ripples that stretched across. "It's nice. Just where you want to be when the world needs to just melt away."
“Swim?” He let out a little laugh. “I wouldn’t swim for the life of me.” He really hated to admit his fear of water, found it was one of his greatest weaknesses. “I’m not very fond of water.” He got to his paws, shaking the droplets from his paw. “Let’s get on to this mystery place, I guess?”

"Most aren't. I ended up wading through Waterclan territory at one point and euhh." He shuddered, "I do not get how they are able to stand getting mud between their toes." It took Funk forever to get that stuff out from between them. And hopefully he wouldn't have to go through there again anytime soon. "Of course, blackbird, it's just this way." Moving his paw, he stood slowly and began directing Shaded away from the pool.
“I guess not.” He commented, quieter than he had been for a while. His mind going fuzzy, the sounds around him falling in and out of his ears, he sent a smile to Eshek. “Honestly, me neither.” He purred, following closely beside the tom. “Now, can you tell me about this little place of yours? Is it nice?”

It could have been a blessing or a curse Funk E'tan didn't particularly care to know all the details. It saved Shadedstar from having to talk about some fear of drowning he may or may not have had, but it also made the connection feel dodgy and not serious. But that's what it was. It was a quick fling, nothing more or less. A little sugar for the broken hearted. Funk briefly wondered if he needed more herbs for him, but he didn't let the thought take root, "It's very nice. Like a little hideaway. Just far enough for no one to notice, but just close enough to where you don't feel isolated from everything. It's like it has one foot in this world and one in another. Y'know, like rest stops."
A soft, quiet purr rumbled in his throat, a continuous flow of fuzzy happiness and bliss that he hadn’t felt in the past few days. “Sounds magical. Very magical. I can’t wait.” He chuckled softly, watching the rhythm of Eshek’s paws and trying to match it with his own. Why couldn’t he feel like this more often? Why did it have to be from some outside source? Why not from him, his brain, just because he deserved it?

(oof big mood)
Seems his dosage was still good, the break hadn't made him too rusty. Well, less of a break and more of too busy to get to have any fun. Funk watched Shaded attempt to match his steps, purposefully stopping and starting to confuse him more. Laughing after doing this a few times, he returned to a normal pace, pressing up against Shaded and intertwining his tail with the black tom's. He didn't steer away from the towering manor in front of them, rather leading him up the steps into it.
Feeling a bit awkward at the new contact, Shaded let out a nervous laugh, but did not pull away. A part of him needed this. Wanted this. He kind of enjoyed it, really. Finally, once they reached some sort of big twoleg den, the large black tom pulled away from Eshek. Tilting his head up at the large structure, he sent a playful smile towards the other. “Are there twolegs in here?” He asked absently, touching the house with his nose. It was cold.

Funk wouldn't come to realize how he'd miss Shaded's presence in the time to come, but it was nice for a night. Short, sweet and to the point. He was used to the bristle, always filled with confusion, anticipation and maybe a little fear. Funk didn't fight Shaded pulling away, letting him look through the manor at his leisure. "No, they disappeared a long time ago." Least he assumed so, "What would you do if there were twolegs here though?" Trying to keep some semblance of conversation flowing, he skipped into the manor.
