Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The two sisters, Firstpaw and Lastpaw sat quietly together in the center of camp. Both had finished their tasks early that day, and so, naturally, they had gravitated to each other's sides. Pale gold tabby and jet black graced identical sillouhettes: slender with tall ears and feathery tails. Bending down, Lastpaw drew her tongue over her sister's white-tipped ear, a rare display of affection for the stoic black she-cat.
Foxpaw dragged his exhausted paws over to the fresh-kill pile. He looked down but nothing seemed appetizing. Losing any appetite he had, he turned to see his fellow apprentice's sharing tongues near the center of camp. He hadnt spoken to them in quite a while. He supposed that would be a good way to wind down after his training. He padded up to Firstpaw and Lastpaw, his feathery foxy tail swishing behind him. As he approached, he offered a warm smile before greeting them "Hello. How did your training go today?"
Lastpaw's claws dug into the ground for a moment, seemingly startled by the newcomer. Sensing her sister's discomfort, Firstpaw wrapped her tail about the black she-cat reassuringly before opening her mouth to speak. "Oh! My apologies, you startled us! We're well, as is our training. How about you?" Despite the time spent in the Clan, neither sister seemed terribly used to life there, likely due to how close to one another they remained. Even discounting Lastpaw's claw-clenching wariness, Firstpaw's formal tone and withdrawn body language made that much terribly clear.
Foxpaw shook his head, "oh no need to apologize! That was my fault! I'm so sorry!" Then he sat down, wrapping his tail neatly around his paws. "My training has been well also. What are you learning, presently?"
"I'm trying to focus on hunting. I don't particularly enjoy fighting." Firstpaw admitted then glanced at her sister. Lastpaw sighed before answering. She'd been hoping Firstpaw could just handle the conversation. "Fishing." She said simply.
The handsome red somali tom nodded to Firstpaw, "I'm not much of a fighter either. I prefer hunting." Then Foxpaw's green eyes lit up as he stared admirably at Lastpaw. "You know how to fish?" Dayclan cats usually didn't fish. Some mentors showed their apprentices but some didn't and he didn't think he was going to learn how to fish in his training.
Lastpaw paused, struggling to remember the name. "Erm... it was Vanillapaw. She seemed nice." Firstpaw remained fairly quiet, glad to give Lastpaw the chance to grow more comfortable.
Foxpaw slightly frowned, an apprentice as a spirit guide? It kind of made him sad. Vanillapaw would have had to die an apprentice. Perhaps it was the sickness that had killed her. Whatever did, it must have been awful to die so young. "Ive never heard of Vanillapaw but I bet she was nice. Mine is Mistralstar" he purred, puffing out his chest as he mentioned his spirit guide being a leader.
Lastpaw flicked an ear in annoyance at the pride in his voice. Was he trying to say his was better? The two sisters met eyes for a moment, and when Lastpaw looked back to Foxpaw, she seemed to have calmed. Nonetheless, she seemed to be done talking for the time and Firstpaw took over. "That sounds amazing! Mine was Pebbleflight!"
"Wow! A medicine cat?" He was impressed but he didnt mean to make Lastpaw feel like her spirit guide was any less important. It must have been an honor to Vanillapaw to be able to train another apprentice. Maybe they had training sessions in Starclan and Vanillapaw had the experience of a full pledged warrior. "Did she teach you anything about herbs?" He was curious to know what they learned. He didnt learn much from Mistralstar in the catagory of leadership though he wished she did.
Lastpaw blinked in surprise at him. "Umm, sure." she responded with equal awkwardness. An odd purring cough issued forth from Firstpaw. Lastpaw have her a hard look, but the golden she-cat had developed a sudden and very intense interest in a passing butterfly.
