Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"You kept your weight on your forepaw rather than your rear paws for one thing. You want to keep your haunches lower than your shoulders." She told him. "And make sure to curve your paw like if you were trying to scoop a bird out of the air."
He nodded, excitement returning into his amber eyes. He sat still besides his tail tip flicking behind him and made sure his shadow was out of the water. After a few moments, more fish began to appear once more. Wow! Fish are really dumb! he thought as he watched them gather. If he were a fish, he wouldn't keep going back to the same spot. As he prepared to make his catch, he checked to make sure he was keeping his weight on his haunches. Then, after a moment of hesitation and going over things in his mind, he finally jabbed his paw into the water again and this time, he flung up a fish in the air. Instead of flinging it to shore, he only tossed it up and therefore, he had to bat at it to keep it from going back into the water. After what seemed like forever, trying to keep the fish in the air, he finally batted it onto the shore where it flopped around, helplessly.
"Well go ahead and collect it before it flops back into the water!" She told him quickly, heart swelling with pride. According to Vanillapaw, apprentices never caught fish that soon!
"Oh! Right!" He replied, leaping at the fish and killing it. "I did it! I can't believe I caught one! Thank you!" He purred, brushing up against her in his excitement. Then he realized what he had done and stepped back but didn't say anything. Instead he went back over to his catch and bounced around it.
Lastpaw stiffened at the unexpected contact, nearly falling into the river in surprise. Thankfully, she regained her balance, and took a breath. She had never been that close to a cat she wasn't related to, save for in fights. She gave a broken purr to try and let him know that she was proud, but kept her distance.
"Look how big it is!" he purred, feeling overly proud of his catch. "Are you going to catch one too?" He asked, hoping she would catch one too. He would love to see her fishing skills.
She took another steadying breath, suddenly self conscious. "I can try, but remember that not every cat is a fishing prodigy." She teased him, stepping forward to the edge of the water.
Her tail twitched as she tried to ignore his eyes on her. The dark she-cat had to fight the urge to hiss at him What are you looking at, mousebrain?! Her amber eyes watched the silvery shapes dart through the water, choosing her target with care. Her long, wicked claws slid out, gripping the ground and ensuring a better grip on her quarry. At last, she saw her opportunity. She struck. Her carefully cupped paw darted out, hooking carefully around the fish and scooping it out of the river. For a split second, it looked like it would fall back into the stream, but she managed to get her fangs into it before such a disaster struck.
"Sure! I cant wait to show everyone what we caught!" He leaped to his paws and bounced over to his fish and picked it up in his jaws. He waited for Lastpaw to lead the way, tail curling in pride.
(How about...since most of the Dayclan cats don't know the tunnels exist, what if they fall into one of them? And the discover the tunnels? Maybe they end up in another territory on accident?)
