Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Sunpaw gave a pleased purr at the observation. "My kittypet name was Sunny. I chose to be called Sunpaw because I thought it sounded fiercer than Sunnypaw and wanted to fit in. Then again, maybe the twolegs had a similar thought process... Thank you." The young she-cat had been shy about her kittypet origins for quite some time, but she found her experiences slowly shaping her into a stronger, more self assured cat than before.

"Are you saying I think like a twoleg?" Pantherclaw teased with a light laugh. Every cat knew that twolegs seemingly acted and thought without reason. Why else would they go riding around in the bellies of monsters? Or live with dogs or chase cats away from their dens? Her thought process bought her back around to Sunpaw. "Would you mind if I ask you something?"

"I was wondering," the black she cat began tentatively, "Would you tell me what it was like living with twolegs?" Her eyes were wide and eager to learn.
"Rather boring... It gives you a lot of time to think. Sometimes too much. I knew cats who spent their entire lives barely paying attention to anything outside their own mind. Considering my temperament, it's fortunate I was chased out. I could easily have fallen victim to the same fate."

"Chased out?" Pantherclaw asked, surprise showing in her voice. "I thought you just left because you wanted to. What happened that made them chased you away?"
"The older cat in the household thought they had gotten me to replace him, like what happened to the older tom down the street, so he drove me out. I don't really blame him." She explained quickly.

"Oh," Pantherclaw meowed nodding her head. "I thought you meant the twolegs chased you away. But that still wasn't very nice of that cat." She looked around camp and saw cats caring for each other. "That's not at all how we act around here. It's a very good thing you came to us."

Something Sunpaw had said earlier seemed to bother Pantherclaw and she decided to ask about it. "You said some twoleg threw a cat out of their nest just because they were old? That's not right! Twolegs are awful!" Growing up in a clan where elders are respected and cared for, that concept was just so horrible to her. "Why would they do such a terrible thing?"
Sunpaw sighed. "We can hope. Perhaps, like cats, they come in both good and bad. I'm not sure which I prefer honestly. Them all being monsters is more simple, but simple is rarely the way of things." The black and gold she-cat glanced up at the sky, in which the first stars were appearing. "I wonder if even StarClan knows."

At the mention of StarClan, Pantherclaw's gaze turned to the sky. Was her father watching her now? She was quiet for a moment before she spoke. "You're pretty wise for an apprentice, actually you're not much younger than me."
Sunpaw chuckled at that. "Wise? I don't know about that. I think wisdom is more along the lines of seeing little but understanding much. I've lived as a kittypet, a rogue, and now a Clan cat. What I have is experience, and that is something we all gain eventually."

"Well then," she meowed with a smile, "You have much more experience than I and yet you're still an apprentice. What's wrong with this picture?" She still believed however, that Sunpaw had more wisdom because wisdom comes from learning by experiences. That was something her mentor had taught her.
Sunpaw purred in amusement at her friend's remark. "Ah, but experience comes at a price. After all, you can't think your brother is irritable just for the sake of it. His experiences taught him that that was the best way to be. I wonder which experiences taught him that."

"Who knows?" Pantherclaw replied but then actually thought about Sunpaw's statement. She wrinkled her brow as she remembered some happier days in the nursery. Graykit in her memory was less grumpy then. What changed? Then she recalled the day when the former medicine cat came to the nursery and took him away and how sad he looked. A light seemed to go on in her head. "He wanted to be a warrior," she said softly with realization in her voice.

Pantherclaw started to voice something but suddenly stopped. She was about to say it wasn't hard for her but she realized then that it had been. "I didn't know it was at the time," she meowed. "But now as I think about it, it was." She wrinkled her brow in thought. "I admit I was jealous then, you know, he being made an apprentice before me but as I look back I really missed him in the nursery. As for Graythorn, I didn't know how he really felt. We grew apart after he moved into the medicine den." She let out a deep sigh and placed her head down on her front paws.
