Eclipsekit yawned, stretching out in her nest that she shared with her mother and her siblings. As the daughter of the leader, she got a lot of perks other kits had to live without. However, the luxuries did come with a cost. The cost of pressure to be exact. She and her siblings had to meet high expectations, and Eclipsekit wasn't exactly the picture perfect winter princess. She didn't care about all the politics of the clan finding it all rather boring, and was quite impulsive. (pao thought we could have a mother/daughter bonding date)
(I didn’t even see the tag just spotted the open new thread on the recent updates page and was like “hmm let’s see what’s this” lol want pimento bully her some, teach her lessons about how to act and mom come along? I wanna do a family one but I’m pretty sure Lunarlight never made it to the page so thinking that one will just get counted as died. Maybe they got sick and passed away.)
Wintrystar was about to head out to do her rounds as sovereign. In her place, she’d asked Pomegranatedecay to come watch the kits. “Little ones.” She called her two remaining kits close, the third having passed away from sickness. Lunarkit had seemed strong at first in life and then he’d weaked quickly. A cough had racked his body before the time came when he a rose to be with Lord Borealis in the northern lights. Gathering the other two before her nest, she spoke up, “you’re sister will be here in a moment. There are take that demand my attention this morning and so I will be leaving you in her care. Listen well, I am sure she’ll have a few things to show you.” Pomegranatedecay had always been the one of her litter to truly understand what it meant to be a leader’s daughter, a prime cat to follow and mimic.
Reapingnight was rarely far from Pomegranatedecay's side. While he fancied himself his equal he certainly didn't act like it, always doing exactly what she said without challenge, doting on her every need more like an assistant than a brother. This meant that he would be present while she watched over their younger siblings, which, honestly, was worse case scenario for Reapingnight. He loathed kits.
"I hope Mother won't be gone long," He said, starting up a conversation to pass the time.

"Have any good stories? Preferably spooky ones," Ghastlykit asked in a lazy tone. He knew there were a lot of expectations surrounding him and his sister, but he couldn't care less. He wanted to know histories of cats to learn where they once walked. In order to know more about the dead he needed to know more about the living. He swore up and down that they called to him, asking him to learn their stories and remember their names.
Pomegranatedecay was the middle child of the litter and yet one do the most well respected of their group. Middle daughter and middle child of five, and yet she ruled them all. It was she who controlled the group and their image. It was this control and understanding of the social structure of the clan that and made it possible for her to get Deathreign into a knight position and her sister Sludgemilk punished upon her return. While shooting a look at her brother, Pomegranatedecay spoke up, “she’ll be gone as long as she needs. Being sovereign is no easy task little brother.” It was a well hidden scolding as displeasure did not once appear on her face.
Turning her gaze upon Ghastlykit, the dark grey she-cat raised an eyebrow and peered down at him. She did not lower herself to his level but merely tip her head just enough to see him. “Spooky stories? Why ever would you want those? Has someone been filling your head with nonsense? Tell me their names, I’ll speak with mother personally.” He puking also these kits to act out as Sludgemilk had and thus wanted them under her claws as quickly as possible.
Reapingnight had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Pomegranatedecay knew how much making fun of his size irked him and, despite the fact that he very much adored his sister, insulting him as such really put him in a foul mood. The dark gray tom wasn't unusually small compared to the average forest cat but he seemed dwarfed compared to the giant WinterClan bloodlines. It made him look like an outsider, not a prince.
He decided to bite his tongue and let Pomegranatedecay do whatever it is she wanted to do, he was well beyond done with her at the moment.

Eclipsekit chuckled “Oh I know you would, which is exactly why we shouldn’t tell you” she mused, tail curling neatly over her paws “Now do you have a good story or not?” She asked tipping her head up to meet her sister’s gaze. Even thought the older cats dwarf weed her in size she wasn’t about to allow anyone to push her around “My brother may like ghastly stories, but I like the ones about romance. Wouldn’t it be wonderful? Have an arranged marriage, and fall in love. I know momma will pick out the right guy for me, so I’m not worried” she purred, whiskers twitching in amusement. She had heard the stories of their older sister, but not the details of what had happened. She hoped by prodding she could get her older siblings to spill the secrets surrounding the whole thing

The big kit pretended to gag at his sister's request, "A romance story? Gross!" His ear twitched as he thought he heard a higher in his left ear that did not belong to any member of his family. He peered around the room and then his gaze settled on Pomegranatedecay. "It's not anyone you can have a word with." He told his older sister cryptically and left it at that. He wouldn't tell them about the cats who sometimes woke him at night and told him ghastly, gruesome stories. At first they scared him but now he rather enjoyed them. He wasn't going to let his strict and boring older sibling ruin all the fun!
(Since I got invited to this rp I'm going to just assume it's in the time period when Sludge came back and she's sentenced to be tortured, but it hasn't happened yet)
"What's going on around here?"
The cat in front of them was dressed in dove white fur, blanketed by ashen accents. Her face was the color of mountains, cinder, but with winter sky white fur caressing the sides of her features. But her eyes were ethereal, a heavenly blue that shimmered bright despite her hardships, like gods own light kept a constant glow alight in her eyes. She was a genetic perfection, scoring just about every gene that had value to be and appear as a proper WinterClan cat. From her long satin soft fur to the untouchable aura that radiated off of her like the dead of night, sending beloved chilling shivers down the shoulders of any unassuming cat she looked at. She was drop dead gorgeous, but she was also Sludgemilk, the cat that defiled herself by allowing herself to become pregnant with an outsiders kits. Who was publicly banished at her warriors ceremony, forced to hold a truly shameful warriors name.
"It looks like fun," She enthused, but her voice wasn't as unapproachable and cold as her appearance, her tone was full of warmth, inviting even.

Eclipsekit's eyes lit up as Sludgemilk entered into their den, getting to her paws and scampering over to the older she-cat and weaving between her paws "Oh Pomegranatedecay was going to tell us a story. I want a romance, but Ghastlykit thinks it's gross" She sat down between Sludgemilk's front paws, tipping her head upwards with eyes closed in a contented purr. This was the perfect opportunity to hear the story she had been craving straight from the source
"Sludgemilk, momma said that you fell in love with the wrong cat!! What was he like? Did he sweep your off your feet? Did it make your heart go thump in your chest? I wanna hear about your first!!! I bet it was magical" Faith
“You’ll hear nothing if the such Eclipsekit.” Pomegranatedecay was quick to drag the kit away from her fascination and in front of her own paws. “You wish for romance and your brother for a ghost story, no? Well then you’ll get two stories but you’ll have to decide between you which goes first.” The she-cat was trying to get the interest off of Sludgemilk and on to something else. Though, her ears had twitched at Ghastlykit’s words from before. Oh, she’d find out who these cats were filling her little siblings ears with strange stories. “I’m sure Reapingnight had a lovely one for you, Ghastlykit.”

Eclipsekit pouted as she was dragged backwards and away from their older sister. She was really to young to understand why they didn't want her to be near Sludgemilk "But, Reapingnight is a TERRIBLE story teller!!!" she whined, looking back over at Sludgemilk with pleading eyes "Why don't you let Ghastlykit listen to his story and I'll go listen to hers. Then we won't have to decide who is going to go first. We can both have our stories at the same time !" she puffed out her chest, rather proud of the compromise that she had made "Then you won't even have to watch us Pomegranatedecay , and you can take a break!" paoFaithuniqcrim

He looked up at Pomegranatedecay with a slight pouty face, "I don't want a lovely story. I want it creepy, gory, and filled with terror and fear! Everyone has been alive for like... forever. You have to have something that isn't lovely or teaches a lesson. Surely you know a tale of a bloodthirsty cat or the ripping apart of a foe? Much better than romance." He really didn't hold back in his descriptions, after all why should he? They were al warriors, surely they'd seen some truly terrible things.
"I don't care who tells the story so long as its awful," racerpao
“No! I will hear no back talking from either of you, you’ll get whatever story your told and make do. Now, come here, you’ve ruffled your fur with all this nonsense, and that it just not acceptable. Do you wish to look like you belong in DayClan?” Pomegranatedecay was appalled by her younger siblings actions. Clearly she needed to stop by more often to make sure their social graces were up to par, and nothing like Sludgemilk’s disruption would happen again. I forget understand the social hierarchy that controlled WinterClan there chances of that were greatly lowered, as well as the fact it looked poorly on their family for such behavior to exist at all. Whining youths would not be tolerated, especially not by Pomegranatedecay.

"I don't even know what DayClan cats look like" she countered, but she followed her older sister's commands to come to her. She didn't really like being told what to do like that, and the young kit felt better when she could get the last word in on the conversation. She sat with a rather annoyed expression on her face that she wasn't going to get her way and her Sludgemilk's story. She would just have to go seek her out on her own later on to hear it "If we can't do a romance, we should just skip the story. I'd rather go play"
"We have a ghastly story and a romantic story glaring us in the face," Reapingnight interrupted. Gods, kits were so annoying, for once in his life he was happy his disowned sister had showed up just to relieve him from the pressure of having to make up a story on the spot, "Sludgemilk, why don't you tell our siblings the story about how you earned your name?" Faith
"You really should listen to Pomegranatedecay," Sludgemilk said, trying to hide the undertones of disgust from her voice into something more enthusiastic.
Reapingnight's voice alone made her chest tighten, panic searing over into something hotter, more angry. He outed her and she lost all of her kits, his nieces and nephews. They were people. She forced the tears brimming at her eyes back. When she looked to Reapingnight she nodded to him with understanding, stepping forward to the kits
"Okay, so step one to having your life ruined is to have a really annoying brother who outs you in front of everyone," Sludgemilk said, sticking her tongue out at the end as she did with a teasing grin. Okay, she should watch her tongue, but in fairness, everyone including Pomegranatedecay would agree that Reapingnight was an obnoxious brother, it wasn't even a cheeky opinion at this point.
"Okay, okay, but real story is that my siblings and I wanted to take over DayClan. So as apprentices we marched over DayClan's border and announced our tyranny and that was when I met Mothpaw. He was shy and awkward, he didn't feel worthy of me. I was so used to everyone looking up to Pomegranatedecay that I felt touched anyone would value me like that. After that day we continued to meet up, I loved our time together, I felt like I fit in with DayClan more than WinterClan. But I never left home because it wouldn't reflect well on our family. But late into apprenticeship I became pregnant. I was hoping to handle it discretely, but during my warrior name ceremony Reapingnight outed my secret. Mother decided the warrior name Sludgemilk would be fitting. Maybe to tell me that I was spoiled or because I would be nursing inferior kits in her eyes. I was banished in the winter though, told to come home without any kits or not to come home at all. I couldn't leave WinterClan, the blizzards were too strong. I gave birth for the first time alone, it was terrifying, I had no one, and I thought I was going to die. But I did it, alone without a clan, but I couldn't keep them safe, I lost every one of my kits to a terrible storm. And then life went on, I dried my years, and returned home because I have consequences that must be done to me," Sludgemilk said, but she wouldn't look at anyone the entire time she retold the story. Only straight ahead with a serious stare. She refused to think too hard, let the emotions show, or become offbeat by letting her voice waver. She wouldn't be able to handle whatever expression Reapingnight gave her. She'd kill him if she looked at him now, that much she knew.
"You told that story so well, you almost moved me, Sludgemilk," Reapingnight purred with thinly veiled sarcasm. The kits wouldn't pick up on it, but his littermates, especially the target of his aggression, would. He didn't continue to keep his focus on her, however, and instead turned it back to his younger siblings, "You should remember her story whenever you think about disobeying the will of Lord Borealis. It will only bring you shame and great suffering."
