Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Oh? But we are only getting started!" he smirked before launching at the apprentice then tricking him and leaping passed him only to turn back and bite his tail gently, tugging on it. He wanted to show the apprentice different battling without making it boring. He believed in paws-on learning. If the apprentice saw him doing something interesting, chances are he will try to do it himself. Though this way, Lionspirit wasn't making it boring by telling him about the battle move, instead showing him in a game.
His eyes widened in surprise as, instead of fleeing, his mentor attacked. He wheeled backward far too slow and yipped as the tom tugged his tail - startled, but not hurt. He immediately collapsed to the ground like his dead weight would make it harder to drag him and then twisted, trying to free himself.
Lionspirit released his tail and looked at his apprentice, impressed. "That was excellent strategy, Duskpaw! Using your weight to your advantage! How did you know to do that?"
He nodded, "yes! Because that was a move I was going to teach you later but you trusted your instinct and that is good!" He laid his tail over his apprentice. "You are very smart and have the potential to be a great warrior"
His smile faded. His apprentice looked up to him but Lionspirit saw himself as a failure. He may have been a great warrior but he was killed. He didn't protect his clan. Sure, he held the Primal Instinct cats off for a while but he never was a hero. "You be your own cat, Duskpaw. Be a better warrior than I was" he mewed in a serious tone. "Lay down roots and live your life because you never know when it will be stripped from you."
The black-and-white apprentice looked up at him, his eyes soft and confused. 'Be your own cat?' What did that mean? He was just an apprentice, he wasn't anything special; he just wanted to be a good warrior like his mentor and a hero and save his clan. He didn't know what else he could do with his life. "I would be happy to die for my clan. They are my family, I have to protect them."
"It is good to put your life on the line for your clan. However, don't miss out on life. There is so much life a head of you. Embrace it" the smile returned to his face and he wrapped his tail around Duskpaw. "I know you will make me proud, though. You have a good heart."
