Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ever since the incidence with Southpaw, he had felt guilty. He did not understand why the cadet had chosen to speak out the way she had and to challenge the Commander, but he also felt bad for her. She had not been born here in the Regime. Perhaps she did not understand their way? That command here was never questions, not if you wanted to live. Not here in the tunnels in a group of cats who had been here for longer than they could even say. Longer than any living cat could guess.
So, he found himself looking for the cadet. As her peer he felt it was part of his job and responsibility to help her understand. What she did after understanding was fully on her but... if no one taught her then how could she? Sunshine wasn't sure what made it his responsibility exactly but that wasn't important to him. "Southpaw!" He called out, wondering where she could have possibly gone with her injury.

Southpaw had snuck out of her den, far to restless to be contained to some darkened corner. She hated the tunnels and how no matter how much she cleaned she was always finding new stains from brushing up against the walls or simply from the dust in the air. It was always so cold down here, and she longed to feel the warmth of the sun on her pelt. She had finally found her way up to the surface on her own, probably a bad move in that Shule or really almost any of the regime cats, would assume that she was trying to run away, even though that wasn't the case.
Sun light.. oh sweet sunlight....
Southpaw made a bee line towards the sound of the river, not caring that she was technically on DayClan's territory now and dangerously close to their border with SunClan. She and her siblings had come to the regime as Rays, but had never reported back in. So if she was spotted, there was a high likelyhood that she would be seen as a traitor and taken back by force.
She settled herself onto one of the stone, a warm purr filling her throat as she basked in the sun light. After all, there was nothing better for an injury than basking in the Sun God's rays

Before long, Sunshine caught a fresh scent that was definitely Southpaw. He followed the trail outside of the tunnels and perked up an ear. It seemed odd she'd be out of the tunnels at this time of day and he continued to follow it, only to find her sun bathing on a warm rock. It seemed kind of a strange thing to sunbathe outside in the open like this, but she hadn't been raised in the regime either. Maybe this was normal outside of the tunnels?
"Hey, how are you feeling? I'm Cadet Sunshine Eerie." He introduced himself. It was a little ironic that his name was Sunshine given the circumstances but he actually really liked his name. "I was at the training session the other day." He felt a little guilty after having watched and not being able to do anything. She had brought it upon herself by talking to the Commander the way she did though.

Southpaw rolled over onto her good side, to look at the Cadet that had approached her.
She didn't really know the cats name before just now, but she remembered him from the training session. The poor cat looked like his eye balls were about to pop out of his skull "Oh" she lowered her muzzle, putting some of the stray fur into place "I'm Southpaw, but I guess you already know that. I'm an eerie to!" she chirped, though apparently being an eerie wasn't a good thing in the regime.
"I'm sore, but my shoulder will be fine. Especially now that I can get in a good Sun Bath. Sunlight is really good for injuries!! I have only been here for a little while and I'm already feeling a lot better" she sat up, rolling her shoulder gently "I don't mind it though, it makes that big mean ugly face leave me alone"

He was surprised for a moment that she was an Eerie, but the feeling quickly passed. There were many Eeries and technically he was not even an Eerie by blood. Hunteligh had adopted them as younglings and he felt very grateful to the cat for that. In exchange, him and his siblings got to group in the Regime and learn here.
"I've never heard of a cat sunbathing out in the open like this." He admitted nervously, glancing around them. As a Scout pirate he was on the surface more than many of the others, but he always staying hidden or high up when he was. Being out in the open and vulnerable like this was anxiety-inducing for the cat even though he enjoyed coming up to the surface and pretending like there were no rules, commands, or other cats for a little while.

"Then how do you get better?" she question, gazing up from her spot but not offering to get to her feet
"You know what, it doesn't matter. Come sunbathe with me!" she added cheerfully, rolling over to make room for the other cadet. While Sunshine Eerie looked out of place and on edge, Southpaw was in her element. This may not have been SunClan, but just being out here under the sun's rays was enough to lift her spirits. The warm stone underneath her holding onto the warmth that the sun graced them with
The sun brought out the glittering glimmering strands of her long white fur, unblemished by dirt or debris. She had bathed in the river, groomed her fur, and allowed it to air dry out under the warm sun. Her blue eyes the same color as the bright sky up above. In the tunnels she looked pale and ghostly, but out here in the sunlight she was simply radient

Her question really did not make any sense to him. What did sunbathing have to do with getting better? "I'm used to being underground most of the time. We really only come up for hunting and patrolling as we need to. We have the blind protector and the tunnels keep us safe." She definitely looked different up here, less dejected and more full of life. He approached cautiously, head and body low to the ground, his head swinging slightly to check for any threats. He reached the rock she was on and stood there like a fool, unsure what exactly he was supposed to do in the middle of a rock. So he copied her.

"Lay down you silly goose, and relax" Southpaw patted the rock beside of her
"The stone is nice and warm, and even though your not hurt the warmth will help relax your muscles and refresh you. That way next time miss crazy decides to make you run you will be ready! To work, you need anything that is hurting you to touch the stone. Then just close your eyes, and let the Sun do its magic!" The white apprentice yawned, rolling over onto her spine lazily staring up at the clouds in the sky
She pointed at one of them with her good paw "Look at that one Sunshine! I looks like a mouse"
His eyes widened as she used disgraceful words for the Commander. "Everything has ears. The trees, the sky, and especially the tunnels. I understand you are from Sunclan and I respect that but if you don't want to go crazy and get hurt here I would be very careful what you say. Sometimes, when you think no one is around, word gets back to the superiors. Especially in the tunnels. Voices carry like crazy down there." If nothing else he felt it important to impart the little bit of wisdom he has.
He was mimicking her and staring up at the clouds. He really did enjoy cloud watching so it was nice to spend time with someone who enjoyed it as much as him. He usually watched the clouds alone. "Ooh look that one looks like a flower!" He pointed a paw in the direction. The shapes were fun as the clouds moved and morphed based on some unknown whim.

Southpaw rolled her eyes "I don't care who hears it, even Shule herself. She is crazy, and there is nothing wrong with saying facts. No sane cat would make someone else dirt and talking about lines that don't exist. That is crazy!! Sometimes the truth hurts, but it is better than telling lies" she argued, the same thing that her parents often told her. In her mind you said what you meant, and meant what you said. She had no filter, saying whatever whimsical thoughts came to her mind. She had said the very same words to the Commander's face, so there really was no difference in saying them aloud out here
"All of you seem so scared to say how you are feeling, but it feels so good to let it out" she paused, tilting her head back and calling out as loudly as she could
"COMMANDER SHULE IS A CRAZY UGLY FACED MEANY"
Her words echoed over the hills, before turning to Sunshine "See, nothing to be afraid of. Go ahead, try it! You'll feel a lot better"

His blue eyes grew wide and his heart sped up, panic coursing through him, "Shut up you fool! You think you're the only one who's going to get punished if you do that? Wrong! One of these days you're going to get someone killed with that big mouth of yours." He was not one to be sharp or lose his temper. He didn't even care if she had different beliefs, but she was going to get him in trouble and he would not let that happen.

Southpaw looked liked a kicked puppy, ears falling back against her skull
The white apprentice's eyes watered, before turning away into a sitting positiong and giving the tom the cold shoulder. She had thought that she had finally found a friend in all this madness, but apparently she was mistaken "I thought you were different... but fine. If I'm such a loudmouth I just won't talk to you any more" her vision blurred with tears she began to run off, straight towards SunClan's border. Ignoring the pain in her shoulder, she pushed through the undergrowth just wanting to go any where but there. She had messed up again, and this time she wasn't stopping as she crossed over the invisible line that separated the two territories

As soon as the words left his mouth he knew they were a mistake. Seeing her tear filled eyes just before she sprung away from him made it even worse. Blind Protector help him... he was a fool to make such a ridiculous mistake and decided to race after her. "Southpaw! Wait!" He cried out, not caring that they were nearing the Sunclan border. He sped up and was just behind her, practically on her heels. "Wait! I'm sorry!"

Southpaw didn't stop, the thorns of the underbrush tearing at her skin until she ran straight into a mountain of black fur. It enveloped her like a long black cloak, but the cat wasn't looking at her. It was looking past her and straight at the cat on her heels calling her name. While Southpaw's eyes were the color of the sky, his were the color of the deep sea. Dark, dangerous, but beautiful. Sunshine would instantly feel the hair along his spine raise as the other cat stared him down, only growing in intensity the longer they waited. Southpaw sobbed into his fur , unable to see anything as he held her tightly "Everyone hates me" she cried, muffled through his long fur.
That was the final straw, the tingles intensified into a burning pain strong enough to stop even a grown warrior and make them double over. Darksonata, pulled his little sister closer with his paw, waiting on her explanation of who this cat was and why they were chasing after her. His lip turned up into a snarl, but only one word escaped his lips "Leave"

The black tom froze in his steps unable to break his eyes aware from the deadly dangerous stare before him His hackles rose, everything screamed at him, telling him to run. He couldn't. He stood frozen in place as Southpaw cried into the Sunclan cat's fur. The intensity rose. At first it was uncomfortable and it slowly turned into a burning pain, almost as if his blood was boiling within his own body. It hurt. He couldn't move or break free to escape it, trapped inside whatever this pain was. "I didn't.. mean to." He managed, gasping for air. He had never felt pain like this before. Was this how he was going to die? Some strange mind power? That was the only cause he could think of. Something about those eyes told him the source of this pain.

Southpaw had her nose burried into her brother's fur, unaware of what was happening to Sunshine "He called me a loudmouth, and said I was going to get everyone killed" she wailed
Darksonata paused, breaking eye contact and looking down at his little sister in dismay. That was it? He called her a bad name? That is what all the fuss was about. The large tom huffed, releasing the young cadet from the painful stare and bending down to lick behind Southpaw's ears soothingly "Stop" he mewed softly, one paw raising up to wipe away her tears. He wasn't much of a talker, almost the polar opposite of his white coated adopted sister. She had always been a little over dramatic, but this surely took the cake.
It wouldn't be long before other SunClan cats heard the fuss and came to investigate. He nudge her to her paws and towards the cadet, tear streaked cheeks and all "Back" he looked over his shoulders, hearing a patrol as he took off to intercept them

He gasped for air, gulping it into his lungs as fast as he could, blue eyes bugged bigger than he realized they could go. What exactly happened here? Who was this cat? Obviously he was close to Southpaw and was not going to hurt her but oh boy was he confused.

Southpaw sniffled looking back over her shoulder as Darksonata disappered "Come on" she meowed softly still quietly sobbing and angry at Sunshine, but she wasn't about to let him get caught just because she was angry. She darted back across the border, heavily limping by the time the cross back over the border into DayClan. She had a could of small pricks from the thorn causing her white fur to look like it had little pink and red spots on it
The apprentice was still crying "Just go on back home and leave me alone before I cause you more trouble"

Speaking of everything having ears, Commander Shule seemed to stride up to join the scene just in time, Spy Arei peeking out from behind her with a sort of smug look on her face. After all, she was the eyes and ears that were everywhere, such was her job, and Sunshine seemed to have gotten himself mixed up with a particular target. "Get over here you two. Now." Was all the she-cat ordered from a bit deeper into DayClan territory, her gaze peering off into SunClan with a look that would have killed. It was no secret her disdain for the clan, after all, it was their leader, now DayClan's leader, who'd stolen her own children from her, who'd hurt those she loved in so many ways. Whether or not she built a stable relationship with the clan, she would never trust them in the slightest.

If Sunshine's mouth could have dropped to the ground it would. He knew who Arei was and that this was not good news. He could practically cry at the thought of returning home. His ears and tail drooped in defeat and he did as Commander Shule instructed without hesitation. Maybe Shule would be lenient, if they were lucky. He was not holding his breath.
He also knew to save his excuses and explain when asked to. He shot Southpaw a please get over here and don't leave me alone look. This was her fault after all.
