Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It as different. SunClan had changed since she'd last been there. Taking a life from her sister had been easy. SunClan had been much weaker then. Narcissus hadn't taken long to decide if she as going to join Foxstar's clan or not. She glanced down at the two kits she'd brought with her – the other one had been sent to Absum Lux because she was an annoyance – and felt an inkling of pride for them. They weren't old enough to understand why their sister – Belle – wasn't with them. She debated on telling them she was dead. She trudged through the territory, going from memory to find the camp.
Things had changed in the years since Lilystar's reign. The territory itself was different, and the camp that Narcissus remembered was simply a patch of clearing now, a memory of what had once been. And though snow covered the ground, burned branches could be seen, memories of the fire over a year prior, the same flames that had begun the transition from clan to cult, from StarClan to the Sun.
Yes, many things had changed. Even Mountainsound had changed. She had a mate, had kits, had her son turn into a serial killer... Yeah.
The former medicine cat, more than anything had never expected the scent that reached her nose to appear, and her blind eyes widened, a growl already rising in her throat. She wasn't the violent type, not usually, but she saw how Narcissus presence had torn apart SunClan firsthand, had caused trouble for Deal, and Daylight, and contributed to the cat who now stood as their Priestess. Her presence was not only unwelcome, but it didn't bode well, for anyone.
"What are you doing here?" The words left her mouth before she could stop them, and it was only when she got closer that the scent of kittens hit her nose. Kittens. That paused her in her tracks. Whatever she thought of the she-cat in front of her, she wasn't so cruel as to attack someone in front of such young children.
Narcissus raised an eyebrow at the cat she remembered as 'SunClan's Medicine Cat' and then remembered the cat in front of her couldn't see. Shame. "Foxstar offered me a chance to go through the initiation process." She said boredly. "Figured it was as good of a place as any to raise kits." Honestly, the thought made her chuckle inside. They weren't her kits, only one was actually related to her. Not that anyone would ever find that out.
Mountainsound had to admit, when she first heard the words leave her mouth, she didn't believe it. Two seconds later, it actually registered as something Foxstar would do, and the Senator debated throwing herself over the edge of the gorge. She'd lived a good, long life, hadn't she? She didn't need to live through this too...
A part of her hoped that Narcissus would fail, and they could just forget this had ever happened. The other, however, figured that Foxstar expected, on some level, that she'd manage to pass, if she was offering it. That didn't bode well, and the older feline wondered what the Priestess' intentions were, that she would bring the cat who had led her to betray SunClan, right into it's heart.
"Right this way then." She nearly spat the words. Maybe the Sun would just smite Narcissus now. Of course, Mountainsound was never that lucky.
Amusement sang in Narcissus's blood. She was extremely pleased by Mountainsong's reaction. She nudged her 'kits' in front of her. She was arrogant enough to follow the former Medicine Cat closely, but not to close. Just close enough to push all of the blind cat's buttons.
It was humiliating, really, to be shepherding Narcissus directly into camp. Of course, if it was Foxstar's word, and Mountainsound didn't really think Narcissus was lying, much to her dismay. That meant she couldn't really disobey. As such, she led them to the gorge, feeling especially stifled by the she-cat's close presence, and wishing her tail were just an inch longer so she could smack the to-be initiate in the face.
All said and done, however, they made it to camp without much fuss, and Mountainsound led them down the maze of tunnels into their sandstone camp, the stone beneath their paws warmed ever so slightly by the weak Sun. "Wait here, I'll get her for you." With that, the old she-cat left, trotting surprisngly fast up the slope to the Priestess' den, a stormy look that seemed as though it could kill everyone within a ten mile radius on her face as she slipped inside the den.
Narcissus shrugged and sat in a dry patch in the camp and began grooming the kits.
Tempe really wasn't expecting to see her mother again. She would have attacked the she-cat if she hadn't noticed the little mites she had. She bit back a hiss. It would only make Narcissus enjoy whatever she was doing more than she already was.
"Who's that?" Snapdragoncynosure, one of Mountainsound's kits, sat next to the obviously angry Tempe, dichromic silver and green eyes looking vaguely confused by her clanmates sudden tension, and her mother's furious expression. Obviously, the queen was the issue, but the Warrior couldn't exactly pinpoint why. After all she hadn't been alive during Lilystar's reign, though she'd heard tales from her mother about it.
It was a few long moments before Mountainsound emerged with Foxstar, looking about twice as furious as before. It was an odd sight, given that Mountainsound never, ever, got angry. To be quite honest, it was rather terrifying. Now, if only Narcissus would be scared by it, but somehow, the Senator expected that wouldn't be the case.
"Narcissus." Tempe said through clenched teeth. "My mother." Ever since she'd joined SunClan back when her Aunt was leader, she'd tried to keep her temper in check. And most of the time it worked. Something about being in close proximity to the woman who had originally sent her as a spy ruffled her fur the wrong way.
Narcissus stopped the grooming of the young ones at her paws and gave the furious blind cat a flash of an arrogant grin. She waited for Foxstar to start talking. Really, she didn't know what to expect. Other than the cats - and her daughter - whom remembered her. She could guess what they felt, without actually looking at them.

Snapdragoncynosure's ears perked at Tempe's statement, the name registering with her. That was the leader of the group Foxstar had betrayed SunClan with. Mountainsound had told her of it, namely as a warning to not entirely trust everything the Priestess said. Her gaze drifted to the she-cat who'd just arrived, and the kits with her, a newfound wariness in her expression. If that was true, and she didn't doubt her clanmate's words, then this wasn't a good sign. She wondered why her own mother would dare to bring Narcissus here, but with Foxstar's presence, that could easily be explained away.
"So you decided to attempt initiation after all?" Foxstar asked, her head tilted slightly. The two kits in her presence certainly seemed to suggest it, and she doubted that Mountainsound would bring an outsider, let alone one she so clearly despised, into the heart of their camp, without a good enough reason, such as that. It wouldn't be easy for Narcissus to pass, knowing her personality, and the Priestess had warned her, even as she invited the feline to join, that she couldn't game the system. Whether the Shadow Stalker believed her, was another matter entirely.
Tempe's eyes darted between the three other she-cats that were near the center of the camp. She still wanted to claw her mother's face off, but had to constantly force herself to stay where she was. She didn't know if the kits were actually Narcissus's or not, but either way, they were raised by the 'leader' which made them potentially her siblings. The thought still made her stiffen. She hoped Narcissus died trying to join. They'd all finally be free of her.
Narcissus gave a short nod to Foxstar, still finding it mildly annoying to called her Foxstar instead of Foxdusk. She wasn't worried in the slightest about the initiation process, she'd complete it -- and she'd survive.
"I assume you'll be keeping your name during Initiation, so that's out of the way. Your den is over there," Foxstar pointed with her tail to a den opposite to the rest, and across from the small river. A small arch of rock lead over the river and up to the den, a path that would remain, even if the river flooded. "The den is large, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding space with the other initiates. The kits will stay in the nursery, and take on warrior names, but I doubt that surprises you. They will be treated as any other clan kit, so you needn't worry about them having to take an initiation of their own. When you pass, you'll be given a warrior name of your own, and if you'd like something specific, for your warrior name, or the warrior names of your kits, you can always alert me or Priestess Promised Littlebird as to what you'd prefer. During your time here, you'll be treated much like a clan apprentice, and learn the customs and ranks of the clan. More than just our camp has changed in the past year, and I don't doubt you'll appreciate our code more than the warrior code."
Her words were fairly standard, explaining the basics of where Narcissus would live, and what her day would be like. Of course, she didn't expect Narcissus to be happy in the slightest, to be lesser than anyone, let alone cats like Mountainsound, whom she'd once fought against. But it was necessary, and the she-cat was accepting all that came with initiation by choosing to participate. If she wanted to be part of SunClan, she'd just have to play along, no matter how much she might detest it.
