Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ratstar let out a loud yawn, his jaws opening wide as he lazed in a sunny spot on the Shore of Shifting Sands next to the Northern Sea, with Fawnhysteria sitting right beside him. It was a beautiful day on the lake; the soft sound of birdsong echoing across the water. "So," the Leader began, turning to look over at his odd companion. The two of them were supposed to be on patrol, but somewhere along their lakeside trek they gave up and decided to chill by the waves instead. "We should probably get movin'," he admitted almost sheepishly. Ratstar was Summerclan's leader after all; he should be the responsible one here. Though honestly, if Fawnhysteria just wanted to stay here and chill until nightfall, that wasn't a bad plan either. strawberrycupid

Odd was an understatement, as Fawnhysteria's tall figure stretched out while he was on his back. He was always a bit of an anomaly, but Ratstar and Summerclan had really let him feel like one of their own. He initally wouldn't have called Summerclan the place he wanted to be, but they had a way of warming up on you. And the nature here helped. Sand speckled his pelt as he rolled over to face the leader, already dreading the idea of getting up and leaving. Which really made a part of him want to do it more. But the warm sand pulled him in, and he stared up at the blue sky and the shifting clouds. "Hey Ratstar." Fawnhysteria heard the concern but also the sheepishness. It wouldn't hurt to stay here a bit longer, right? "Hope you don't mind me askin'. But, what drew you to Poppymask?" It was a sudden question, but the disappearance of Dovegarden had been eating at him.
The leader's ears perked up at the mention of his beloved Poppymask, and he sat up slightly to properly face Fawnhysteria with a bright grin. It wasn't an unexpected question by any means; probably one of the most wondered questions in Summerclan, that Fawnhysteria was one of the few brave enough to actually ask. Though the oddly pensive look on the warrior's face made Ratstar feel like there was more to the question. "I think the better question is what didn't draw me t' 'er?" he replied with a laugh, before his face shifted into something more thoughtful and serious. "From the first time I set paw into Summerclan, she was right there; as bright and bubbly as ever, giftin' me a flower crown t' boot! But it was what was beneath the cheery, petty, and vain demeanor that really drew me in, I think. 'Er warrior name ain't a fluke; she wears a variety of different masks t' hide 'er true thoughts an' feelin's. Most cats see the self-absorbed she-cat and don' take a second-glance, but I did, and saw someone completely different the next time. An' the next, an' the next after that. An' I fell in love with each one."

Maybe it was an universal question, but Fawnhysteria hadn't noticed. He was always too wrapped up in his own activities to notice things like that. But now that those coveted answers were coming out, he wondered what else he expected. And he understood the feeling. Well, in a different way. Even though Poppymask hadn't shown different faces to him, he could see falling in love with the randomness. With each face. With the unexpectedness that accompanied each day. Of course, there was more to the pair. But it was that reminded him of Dovegarden, and that which led to him sighing once the leader was done. A sort of wistful smile crossed the calico's face, "I see. That sounds nice."
