Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Littlestar slowly opened her eyes, the welcome relief of the rain had seeped into her fur weighing it down. It stuck to her small frame, her scars on full display. She had given times for the new apprentices to find their mentors before she spoke again
"SunClan has gone to long without a Soothsayer. Cats of SunClan, the day has come for our Great Protector to choose his new servants. For what we currently lack, he will provide. As you all know, we are in need for a Soothsayer and Janus. Some of our sharpest minds and strongest paws have been chosen to serve the Sun, and have nominated those who they believe to be worthy in their own right for future leadership. Let us not forget, however, that all in the clan are subject to consideration, for it is our mighty ruler who decides all. Janus, please step forward from the crowd with your nominee, so that your hearts and commitment may be judged."
She paused a moment to allow the Janus to submit their nominations. Usually they were chosen by a beam of light, but this time Bravewolf was allowed to select the two cats that had been choosen. Paintedcanyon as Soothsayer, and Nightfury as Janus.
"We thank the Sun God for blessing us with these cats. May they lead us well and bring honor and glory to Him. Paintedcanyon will from this day forward serve as Soothsayer, and Nightfury as Janus" Novastardance
She was about to head back to her den when their was an audible gasp from amongst the crowd. There was a break in the storm cloud, a beam light falling down into the crowd and falling upon a black pelt. Lighting up the she-cat's features, her fur just as dry as before the storm started. She wasn't sure who it was, but someone amongst the crowd "Soaringlight has been chosen!!!" then another voice "Priestess Promised, Priestess Promised!!!" before long a chanting had begun. The High Priestess turned to Bravewolf, they had just spoken about this very thing and how neither of them were ready to selected the next Promised. Had he changed his mind? JadieHoneystorm
"Um, no." Soaringlight's ears pinned to the back of her head and she instinctually backed up as her name was called out from the crowd. The last thing she wanted was to have anything to do with SunClan's leadership, for one it was a shattered mess and for the other it was a major pain in the tail, "Clearly you are taking a random sign in nature and interpreting it in a way that fits your narrowed-minded narrative. Not every unexplainable event is magically divined!"
~*~
"Soaringlight! Soaringlight!" Watermelonpaw chanted, a big grin on his face, he was having a great time, "SOARINGLIGHT!"
Oh boy. This had to be wrong. Nightfury's almost growled at his selection. Who in their right mind would pick him? Hell, who in their wrong mind would either? He slowly shook his head. Did this mean he would have to wear paint? That'd be a deal breaker. He couldn't have been more happy when the limelight shifted to and appeared over Soaringlight. And they were more alike than he thought. Nightfury looked her dead in the eye. It was a clear message: they still had time to get out of here. SunClan's typical shenanigans hadn't even blown up yet.

A growl rumbled in Darksonata's throat, closing in behind his sister glaring and pushing away anyone that tried to get close to her. Clearly she didn't want this, and he wasn't about to allow them to forcer her paw into anything. He leaned in close, until his warm breath tickled the hair on her ears "You can go" if she wanted to leave he would stay behind and fight to give her time to go. Their father had already disappeared, probably back to the regime. Jadie
"I don't know about that, Darksonata," Soarlinglight groaned as SunClan cats, purposefully or not, had begun to surround her and thus thwart any exit attempt she could hope to make. She cast her sharp blue eyes up to Bravewolf and addressed him directly, "Bravewolf! Tell them they're wrong and that you didn't just pick me for Promised, OK!?" racerHoneystorm

With that Lilypaw felt some relief flood through her. She wasn't rejected nor was she demoted but a full blown apprentice now with a mentor! Things were looking up for the small she cat. Nothing would bring down her excitement and passion in becoming an amazing warrior. CleaverNova
"Rad little dude, let's do it," Glitterfreeze agreed with a tight grin that was hard to not smile back at.
Her attention turned as another voice came over to her, she was almost concerned it was another apprentice, but instead it was Dragonfly, "oh, yeah you can talk to me anytime," Glitterfreeze said, wondering if anyone ever denied his request to talk... Although it was SunClan so that was probably a regular thing.
"I know I've been a bad mentor,"
"Mmm, yeah," Glitterfreeze agreed for the sake of keeping up with this conversation, but had no clue whether that was true or not.
I've tried to teach Vantapaw, but I've had... a lot to deal with lately."
"Oh yeah, volcanic eruption, countless deaths, regicide, I heard zombies at one point."
"He's a promising cat. I don't know why he chose you, you're not a real SunClan where-ior-"
"Wow, alright."
"But I hope you can do his justice."
"Well you sound like someone who really cares a lot about him, but just really sucks at showing it from what I can gather. But I will train him because I'm obligated to and he's a cute kid whose dreams I don't want to shatter," Glitterfreeze promised him. She also made a mental note that the next time this guy asked if he could talk to her that she should go with the elitist SunClan method and deny that request. Her sunflower burned just as much, if not more than any other SunClan cat.

It was hard not to, so Vantapaw did. An enthusiasm he wasn't used to feeling rushed through his heart. This was it. This was who he needed as a mentor to topple his father. It was supposed to be a quiet conversation, but it was almost impossible to not notice his old mentor suddenly joining the conversation. Sure, Vantapaw turned away like he was giving them privacy, but his ears were craned back as he strained to hear what they were saying. The camp was filled with noise he didn't care for, so he only got bits and pieces of what they said. Some regret. He could fill in the blanks from there. So he went back to tuning out, deciding to look around for his brother a bit.

Bravewolf had no clue what had happened, and he looked at Littlestar with that same confusion. But, he also couldn't guarantee he hadn't done it on accident? It would fit, at least. Not so sure his sister was the BEST option, but if he had to pick, she most definitely would be it. So he rubbed his head slightly, blinking as Soaringlight called him out for it. "I can't say that." He answered her. Which was TECHNICALLY the truth. Of course, to SunClan, that was as good as a confirmation that the Sun God had, in fact, picked her for Promised. Jadie

Littlestar looked between the two of them, letting out a small sigh. She would have to talk to Bravewolf about this later, but for now she would have to let it pass. As her voice rose up over the crowd to begin the ceremony to make Soaringlight officially her promised Jadie (left it open for you to respond)
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T SAY THAT." It wasn't a question, but an accusation. Soaringlight padded right up to Bravewolf with the same rage and fury he'd witnesses from her his whole life, but this time it was on an entire other level. The very air around her seemed to spark with palpable electricity and her dragon blue eyes shined brighter than the sun itself that was still at her back, "You better undo this RIGHT NOW... or else."
'Or else,' from Soaringlight, we a very different from the standard use of the word. She would do something Bravewolf was not going to much like and it would happen immediately if he did not yield to his mortal sister. Honeystorm
