The silver somali let out a small yawn as he blinked away the sleepy haze that clouded his hazel eyes. He had gotten up earlier than he normally would have. Talonstrike took one glance out of the warrior's den to see that it was the early hours of dawn. The sky was illuminated in soft pinks and oranges, indicating that the sun had not yet risen over the mountain tops yet. Rather than go back to sleep, the silver pelted tom slowly stood up from his nest. He looked across the den to where his sister lay curled up next to her wife, wondering if he should wake her and see if she wanted to watch the sun rise with him. Now that the two had mates they found it harder to find the time to hang out together like they used to. Talonstrike didn't think it was a bad thing, but he still worried about her. Especially since she hadn't told Cloudywinter the truth about her bloodline. Talonstrike knew it was eating away at Flickeringflames, but both agreed that for now it was safe to say nothing. But he was happy for his little sister, and he knew she was happy for him. Not many cats gave Talonstrike the time of day, not that he minded. His outspoken sister had called Frevidsummer a blessing in disguise.
Who else can get you to say more than two syllables in a conversation! She's definitely a keeper, big brother!
Talonstrike couldn't help but let out a low, rumbling chuckle at the memory. The tom glanced down towards his own mate, his expression softening as he watched her sleeping form. The warrior bent down and gently nosed her cheek. Perhaps she would appreciate the sun rise with him. pao
Frevidsummer was a light sleeper, always had been. So she'd awoken every time someone entered and exited the den. Any movement near her did the same. But she'd learned over the years to go back to sleep easily enough, to only wake far enough to be lightly asleep. Now though, she was dragged from her light sleep to fully awake to be greeted by her new mate's gaze. They hadn't been together long, but long enough for the she-cat to have gotten used to his movements in the nest beside hers. Sleepily she gazed up at him, slowly rising with her usual smile on her face. "Good morning. Is...is something wrong?" The orange she-cat didn't move just yet, but her smile was no less kind.

Talonstrike shook his head quickly as he cleared his throat.
“I, uhm...” He began, his voice still gravelly and deep with sleep. “I was just wondering if... you wanted to watch the sun rise... with me...” The silver tom shifted his paws, pulling up bits of his nest as he did so. He was never one to be outwardly nervous. But he wasn’t sure if she would be angry at him for such a silly request
Frevidsummer couldn’t help the soft smile that grace she lips at such a sweet request. She’d always been a sucker for the romantic moments in life and living to the fullest at that. She’d already raised two strong beautiful daughters, even if they weren’t her own and had taught them the same thing. To live fully in each moment and never take it for granted. While she wasn’t against her arranged marriage, it definitely hadn’t been what she’d imagined. But so far, he was turning out to be just the guy she’d always fantasized about having as a mate. One string and kind, shy but willing to try. And he was, trying that is. Not all took to the arranged marriages well and she was glad he was at least trying. Rising slowly to her paws, yawning and shaking the last of sleep from her form, Frevidsummer stepped forward and bushed against him. “I’d love too. Did you have somewhere in mind to watch it from?”
