Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Hippokit stopped his showboating when he saw Ashenkit edging towards the water on legs as shaky as a newborn’s. “Woah, Woah, stop right there!” he called, swimming towards her. He’d taken a liking to the she-kit, and didn’t want to see her drown in front of all her littermates -- that’d be so embarrassing. He stepped out of the water and shook out his coat until he looked like a big spiky thornball. “Well, the first thing you have to do is not be so scared. If you flail in the water, you’re gonna sink like a rock!” woof
the feminine listens to his explanation of the other clan, tilting her head ever so slightly. She hardly knew of the clans they bordered, let alone the ones far from here, and a new one? Goodness, this clan stuff was going to take some getting used to. “Does Swiftclan believe in Starclan too? Why’d you come here?” She asks, the she-cat’s obsession with learning about the religion coming through. Yarntangle walks further into the water before allowing herself to drift slightly with the current. She paddles upstream, finding it wasn’t as strong as she’d thought. A smile finds her face. “Oh. You’re right! It’s not bad.” strawberrycupid

Crowkit listened carefully to what Hippokit was telling his sister, Ashenkit. The last thing he wanted to do was to sink like a rock. Looking carefully at the gently flowing water, he found a place that wasn't very deep. Squatting down near the edge of the bank, he tentatively gave the water a pat and then drew back his paw. This he did several times more. The water was cold but didn't seem too scary, so he stepped into the stream. It was deeper than he thought. It came halfway up his sides but he didn't want to look like a 'scardy cat' to the others there. He stood still and let the flowing water pass gently around him.
Frostedkit watches Ashenkiy and Crowkit, her tail lazily waving back and forth. “I’m scared to go out.” She admits, her voice trembling a little bit. “Are you doing okay Crowkit?” The water hadn’t swept hun away yet... the grey tabby steps forwards a little, putting just her two front paws into the River. “It’s COLD!” She squeaks, quickly stepping back, her coat puffing out to make her look three times her size.
Ashenkit's ears drooped back at her friend's warning, frowning slightly. "But I don't know how to not be scared," she admitted. The water was pretty and pristine, the current pulling gently at her submerged paws, but all she could think of were the elders' tales of the kits that drowned in the sea and the disaster during leaf-bare that had shaken the clan in more ways then one. She wasn't sure how to be brave like her friends and brother.bauble

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Crowkit laughed at Frostedkit. "You look just like a dandelion gone to seed. Be care the wind doesn't blow you away!" Just then the loose dirt and sand around his paws gave way and he dropped under the water. In an instant he came back up spluttering. "Hey! Who did that to me?" He looked around indignantly.
Daydreamer jolted, just slightly at the feeling of a cold, wet cat on his side, but settled back down when he realized it was just Satinshore, giving his chest a quick lick to settle his coat back down, "Dont lean too far now or you'll have us both soaking," he churred, flicking his tail, "Want some help cleaning up?" he offered.
Wildkit watched the other kits play near the waters edge, following along with them, she slipped quietly into the water, a determined look in her bright amber eyes, her pelt immediately taking on water. She found it tough to paddle, but was quickly getting used to the extra heavy feeling on her legs. It was kind of nice!

Fawnhysteria laughed awkwardly at her sudden questions about their religion. "I don't know. I left when I was young and didn't really get that stuff. And it sounds like the leadership has changed since so who knows if they still do." Okay, he tried to go back. But since he's travelled around so much, it was easy to attribute those lessons to Swiftclan. Though he did hope she didn't catch him in his fib. seeker
Frostedkit grins. "That's what you deserve mousebrain! I told you it was scary!" Anything that made her brother look silly was good enough for her so she stepped two paws back into the water. Hopefully Devotedcrow would be able to teach them all how to swim. For now, Frostedkit was just happy to be out of camp, she couldn't wait to be an apprentice. Whitemuzzle
Yarntangle knew nothing about the clans besides what she'd been told so far, that was including other clan's religions. She was fascinated with the idea of a place where all the clan cats went. Did that mean she would get to go now too? She hoped so, despite her being born in the world outside of the clans. "Oh, okay. Interesting. So the religion changes with each new leader?" Yarntangle hoped she'd be able to keep up. strawberrycupid

A scowl formed of Crowkit's face. "I'm not scared!" he protested. "I was just surprised is all." He looked at the other cats seeming to move effortlessly through the water and it looked like fun. "I wanna try what they're doing!" he announced. He squatted down so that his body would float. It was disconcerting at first but he was determined not to show it. He began to move his feet and legs back and forth and quickly got the hang of 'cat' paddling. "This is fun!" he exclaimed to Frostedkit.
Devotedcrow nudged his son along with him and then padded to where Frostedkit, Crowkit, Ashenkit, and Hippokit were all mingling. "That's very good, Crowkit, Hippokit," he praised in turn. "Swimming isn't that hard as long as you let the water do most of the work. Kicking your legs beneath you will hold you above the surface, but you'll have to push out to swim forward," he explained. "If you wouldn't mind," she crooned back, placing her head on her paws but she glanced at Daydreaner mischievously. "It's such a nice, warm day. It would be a shame not to enjoy the water," Satinshore mused. complacentdevil

Fawnhysteria shrugged at the next question, venturing further into the river until his paws were barely scraping the river bottom. "I guess it can. I don't see like, new leaders just changing the religion immediately. They tend to ease it in if there are any changes." Well, except for Bloodystar, he couldn't help but think. But that was neither here or there. seeker

"Like this?" Crowkit mewed happily. He swam around in a small circle enjoying this fun new adventure. The puddles that formed inside the camp after a rain have nothing on this stream. As he swam he kept his eyes on Devotedcrow. He liked the deputy mainly because they both shared part of a name. While his thoughts and and attention was diverted elsewhere, he accidentally bumped into Frostedkit. "Hey! Watch where you're going!"
"That's perfect, Crowkit," he praised warmly, impressed by the young kits and their abilities to swim. It seemed like it came naturally to them all.
Ashenkit was still a bit more uncertain about diving in, but she felt her confidence blaze with Hippokit's presence, Crowkit and Frostedkit's eagerness, and the knowledge that they had the adults nearby. Taking an unnecessarily deep breath, she plunged in, frantically paddling her paws to keep herself aloft and straining her neck as high as it could go. She wasn't sure she liked this whole swimming thing but she couldn't vocalize it yet, fearing she might inhale water instead, so she settled for a wild-eyed look at her companions. The black and white kit glowed under the deputy's praise. I wanna be just like him when I grow up! "Hey! Lookit Ashenkit swimming!" Crowkit exclaimed when he noticed her paddling around. Forgetting about the crash he had with Frostedkit, he slowly swam towards his other sister. Swimming was fun but it seemed so sluggish opposed to running around on dry land. "I'm coming," he called out to Ashenkit.
