Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
A loud crash echoed in the DayClan camp, coming from the apprentices' den. "Oh, StarClan help--I mean, um, deliberately ambiguous gods of the afterlife, help me!" exclaimed Gleamingpaw, who was having trouble adjusting to DayClan's new policy of not following StarClan anymore but absolutely refused to seek advice on the matter because seeking advice was for people who had problems and everything in his life was completely hunky-dory. "I think I twisted my paw getting out of my nest!" Yes, life was going just swimmingly for Gleamingpaw.
Lilacbane was nearby when she heard the loud stumble snowball into a crash. Unlike most DayClan cats she was born and raised within the clan with actual DayClan blood. Not only that, but her parents legendary figures of DayClan, Windchaser The Swift and and Illuminatedpath The Purehearted. Unlike her parents though she notably didn't follow in their paw steps. Instead she kept secrets, bossed others around and was rather publicly grounded and punished to be a Maverick so that her mother could keep an eye on her.
Lilacbane gave a gentle scoff at the apprentices clumsy paws before lifting Gleamingpaw up by the scruff to help her up, "You should really be more careful you know," She scolded lightly as she dusted the apprentice off. Taking a step back to admire her work she gave her a nod to confirm she was tidied up. "Although with a mentor like Princecharming I really can't see you behaving any other way, Prince is always so. Flighty. Like yourself it seems." Her poison ivy colored gaze caught Gleamingpaw's twisted paw, wincing at the sight of it, "Of course, you should probably get that looked at. How about we go see Brakewings?"
"Owie," Gleamingpaw grunted as he was helped up on his paws. "Brakewings? Wait, I don't think it's that--YEEEOOWWW, okay maybe I should see Brakewings," he hissed. "And hey, don't talk about Princecharming like that! I just know if he was here, he'd be helping me out a lot nicer than you are! Even if I haven't seen him around in a while!!!"
Lilacbane suppressed a bit of laughter, "Or seen her, at all. Y'know ditching training isn't very becoming of an apprentice your age, you should really be attending training with Princecharming or at least meet with her so you know she's a she-cat! Come along though, let's get you to Brakewings," She said, coming to Gleamingpaw's side to support her so she wouldn't put pressure on her leg.
"Brakewings, we got an injury," Lilacbane called out.
Fairytalehunt peaked his head from the medicine cat den first, "What's the issue?" He asked, padding over to Gleamingpaw and Lilacbane.
"Broken paw possibly?" Lilacbane asked more than said.
"Yeah, alright, I don't know why I asked a warrior that. Gleamingpaw, how about you rest in the nest, I'll inspect you and hopefully Brakewings will be here any moment," Fairytalehunt reassured her as he inspected her leg, "Don't worry, I can get that adorable little leg of yours sorted out in a splint. You would just have to stay in the medicine cat den for a few days is all, resting in camp too."
Gleamingpaw had just started reveling in all the attention that was being showered upon him when he heard that word come out of Fairytalehunt's mouth. "Splint?" he asked, eyes wide with fear. "What's that? Is Brakewings gonna cut it off? I need this thing!!! How am I supposed to impress Flickeringpaw--I mean...talk to Flickeringpaw without all of my legs?!"
"Yes we're going to split your leg wide open. No, we're going to take a stick, lean it against your leg and tie it to your leg so it keeps your leg from moving at a painful angle while it heals," Fairytalehunt said with a playful roll of his eyes, "Anyways, how about you just lie down so I can help you out," Fairytalehunt said before smiling politely at Lilacbane, "We don't really need you here for this so you can go."
"Oh uhhh, sure," Lilacbane said with uncertainty. It felt weird to leave the apprentice alone, after all getting a splint might hurt and maybe Gleamingpaw wanted a paw to hold, but Fairytalehunt probably knew best. Wait was that guy even certified to be in a medicine cat role? That answer would have to wait as she walked out of the den.
"Have you gotten any messages from StarClan by the way Gleamingpaw? Just wondering is all," Fairytalehunt questioned passively.
