My heart's gone He no longer lies by my side He left at dawn And once again I lie alone Still endless days and nights I wait for you 'Cause deep inside this flame I know it's true
Forever starts today Forever we will be Forever's every day Forever faithfully
There weren't many memories floating around in his head of the past, but he knew one thing like he knew the curvature of his spine and the way his claws flexed when he stood on lush green grass: He had longed for a true love, a real love, a soulmate since he was young. The older he had gotten, the less he had thought it would come true, the more he began to fall into a void of darkness and resentment. His death wasn't a pleasant one, at least not that he could figure, he didn't really remember anything other than pain before it all went black. It wasn't an ideal situation, for sure, but death did bring him one thing: his soulmate.
See, it started innocently enough, okay? After the two cats that found his corpse in Primal Instinct's territory ran off screaming when he woke and sat up, he'd been wandering aimlessly for days. Then, for some unknown reason, he started to climb up. He was a sun-loving, warmth embracing lizard by heart, truly, a fire demon through and through, but something inside of him ached for the chill and frost of the mountain peaks. On his journey, lush greens turned into muddy browns turned into snowy whites and silvers.
It was deep within this tundra of frozen terrain that he saw the most handsome, dashing, alluring, amazing, fantastic, awe-inspiring, beautiful tom he'd ever seen in his life.
Was it so wrong of him to be so swept away by this tom that he forgot he should be hiding? He only stepped away from his hiding spot behind the tree for a moment, but it was a moment too long. They caught on to him.
Strangely enough they moved on, though. Good for him, but still left him with some questions.
He smiled slightly to himself, glancing down at the snow laden earth. "For someone so pretty, he sure looked pretty cold, though. He didn't even smile back."

Guidinglight moved over the newly fallen snow effortlessly, heading up the WinterClan patrol. The wisps of his long fur catching the sunlight as he walked. The patrol had been walking along the border for a long time, and thus far nothing unusual had came up. That was until his trained steel blue eyes caught a flicker of moment, his nose catching a strange scent. It only gave him a moment's pause, as the flash of black fur ducked back behind the foliage.
Whomever it was, was on the other side of the border with no indication of trespassing, therefor it was of none of his concern. His face remained emotionless, as they refreshed the border and moved on to continue the patrol. There was no reason to confront the cat whom had done nothing wrong as of yet. With the border set, the warning was clear enough.
The patrol moved away from the border, leaving the stray to their own devices.
If there was one thing he prided himself on, it was the ability to sneak. He was a sneak unlike any other sneak, he knew how to evade, to be stealthy, to be a ninja. After all, it was in his training since he was young. Slipping over the snow and ice, between white laden trees and bushes poking through clouds to expose their greens, holly berries swaying in a gentle breeze with their pops of blood, none could hear his pawsteps, nor his soft breaths as he focused on the light tread along the path the mysterious pretty tom made earlier.
He doubted anyone would suspect him to cross their boundary and investigate their world. Hell, even he didn’t expect it. One minute he was daydreaming while chewing on a blade of grass he’d plucked under a pile of flurries and the next he was tiptoeing like a thief in the night. Well. He was a thief in the night. What was his prize?
The black tom slowed his steps and stared at what he could only imagine was the camp entrance, for it so reeked of feline scent. He bit his lip, glancing around for a way into the camp that wasn’t so open. Only fools — or those with a desperation for death — went in through the front entrance.
Climbing unsteadily on a snow drift, the tom stopped and gazed into the camp, moonlight casting his silhouette into the clearing.
Yes! He thought, performing a victory dance inside his head as he remained motionless on the outside. Success!

The stars twinkled in the skies overhead, pale moonlight reflecting off the snow. This stranger may have been great at sneaking around where ever they had come from, but out here things were different. The black fur of the intruder stuck out against the pale winter background like a stone in the river. The techniques used to move quietly in warmer lands, unable to disguise the distinct crunch of snow.
Unlike this cat, Guidinglight had been born and raised in the these lands, his wide paws evenly distributing his weight across so that it wouldn't make a sound. His very gait different from that of cats from other clans to maximize weight distribution. The winterclan tom had spotted they intruder long ago, simply following behind. Watching, waiting. After all they were already deep within WinterClan's territory, their fate had been sealed from the moment they stepped foot over the border.
With the camp looming just up ahead, the time to act had come. Leaping from his position, he leaped at the other tom, landing hard and pushing him to the cold ground.
"You have trespassed onto WinterClan's territory. You will be taken to our prison to await judgement of the sovereign" his voice was calm but commanding
A soft ‘oof!’ escaped his throat both due to the impact from the tom slamming into him and hitting his back against the snow. Soft landing, yeah righf! It may have looked fluffy and cozy, but it was as hard as a rock. The tom above him was also like a rock. Did he work out regularly? He looked sturdy, like a boulder. Like an attractive boulder. He had a pretty mouth. His lips were moving. Did he always have his mouth open or- no, wait, he was saying something. What was he saying? His eyes were beautiful. Like gems. He wanted to keep them.
...you will be taken to our prisoner to await...
Wait no, that was bad.
“Hey, hey, woah there, look, if you wanted to take me back home all you had to do was ask. I can overlook a lot of things but imprisonment without just cause doesn’t do it for me.” He wiggled, an attempt to get out from under the tom. An inner voice whispered that he was a coward.
“Besides, I was only curious. I’m just... passing through. I planned on being gone by morning, I swear.”

If the wiggling had any affect on Guidinglight, it didn't show as he stood unmoving up above his face unchanging as the cat below him feebly attempted to earn their freedom. It was fruitless, and even though he wasn't intentionally causing his harm his weight alone was enough to make any cat sore.
However the cats words had quite a different effect, as he felt the tips of his ears grow hot. He looked away pushing off the tom without a word until he had regain his paws
"Move it"
He claws emerged from their sheathes glinting dangerously in the moonlight, giving no room for argument "Your fate is not for me to decide"
Stygian blinked in surprise, frozen for a moment but the sudden change in the white tom’s attitude, before a smile broke across his face and he chuckled, shifting to his paws. “Ah, ha, ha, my fate is in the paws of someone I don’t even know? Tsh... Sounds like a pretty big disadvantage, doesn’t it?” He clicked his tongue and shook his head, gazing up at the moon, resisting any movement forward that he was sure the WinterClan tom would’ve appreciated. Instead, his silver eyes slid to the corner to gaze at him from the side before he turned back to him.
“Stygian.”
He grinned. “Now what’s your name? Or should I keep calling you pretty boy in my head?”

"How boring" he replied as the tom gave his name, giving him a rough shove forward to get him moving towards WinterClan's camp. It was get a move on or meet the pointed ends of his claws.
He didn't offer his own name, for this was merely business. This cat had intruded on WinterClan's territory and the consequences of doing so were set. It didn't matter if this cat new his name or not.
"I said move it" this time with a slight growl to his voice to show that he meant the words that he was saying. The tips of his teeth glinting ready to give him a strong nip should he stay stationary
"Stall any longer and you will leave me with no choice. I will drag you there if necessary"
He gaped at him for less than half a minute before pouting and stalking forward in the direction he was shoved, huffing. He only pouted for a short while, the world silent around them, before he started up again. “I didn’t know you were into such things, my pretty boy.” He grinned at him.
He could only play the role of a good little boy for so long, though. Taking advantage of a cloud passing over the moon, the next time light descended upon them, Stygian had wound up on another snow drift, crouched down and wiggling his haunches as though about to play. As though he were a kitten who didn’t know any better.
“What’s put you in such a hurry, my pretty boy? We have all night!” He laughed and bounced onto another snow drift.

"I'm not your pretty boy" he replied with a look of disgust on his face.
He continued to push the tom towards camp, ignoring the kit like behavior as Stygian pranced through the snow. It was unseemly, and no WInterClan warrior would be caught dead acting in such an undignified manner.
He was moving in the right direction though, so he only corrected when the cat got to far from the path. Forcing him back onto it with swipes of his paws, or a growl. Remaining stone faced and stern.
As they neared camp, the guards placed there fell into step beside of Guidinglight "What poor soul did you catch this time Guidinglight?" the guard asked with a chuckle.
The white tom gave the guard a sharp cuff on the ear, a reminder not to speak out of turn.
"This one is going to the prison for trespassing. Please inform Wintrystar of their arrival"
Usually Stygian could keep up a positive morale even in the most severe conditions, but he had to admit the constant disapproving and at times even vicious way the tom acted toward him had his mood sinking a bit. Not one to give up even when the going got tough, though, he smiled a bit. “Guidinglight? That’s majestic. Fitting for someone like you though.”
He glanced over at the other guard with a twitch of his ears and curiosity once more piqued. “What’s your name, stranger? I’n Stygian.” He grinned. “Who’s Wintrystar? Seems kinda ironic, WinterClan, Wintrystar. They had to have been born here. Are they your leader? Oh wow, how cliche, take me to your leader. Are they as stoic as you are, Guidinglight?”
Wintrystar was relaxing in the clan's camp when she heard her name called out. She was resting in her place in the clan, on her nest on the ledge sitting edged into the wall above the sandy clearing. Her head rose from her paws, eyeing the ones who called her attention. From where she rested, she looked like a wise sphinx, eyes narrowed and paws crossed at the wrist.
