Apollo got to stay a guider. Yay. Well, it would have been great, if not for the fact his lungs had never been right after that bout of greencough. Any intense exertion, such as hunting, left him lying in a puddle, wheezing and sounding like a broken squeaky toy. Not that he minded being a Guider, he was fairly thankful to not have to switch careers at this point in life.
Make the most of what he could do, though, right? He'd picked up the old herbs the Regime tended to have before they left. Had planted them on the Guider side of the temporary headquarters, some in the river, some near the walls in the case of Vixupolo. Today, he was checking on their growth. They'd taken well to the area, it seemed, and he smiled slightly as he dipped his paw in the water, picking out a small bit of Aquasis to examine it. This one wasn't doing the best, it generally grew in shallow pools instead of the edge of a river, but he'd also made sure some was situated in that pool by the higher ups' dens. That was sure to be flourishing, if this was doing alright despite it's circumstances.
"Uncle Apollo~! What 'cha up to?" White, cloud-like fur flowing behind her, Laela bounded up to the Guider with a bright, sunshine smile on her face as always. The nicer weather allowed for the normally sickly she-cat to venture out a little more than usual, even without Primus or Septimus tagging along as bodyguards! And what luck that she found her favoritest uncle! Obviously Uncle Commander Mars was great too, but Uncle Apollo had always been there in the Nursery when she was a tyke to help take care of her, her siblings, and especially Momma. Her emerald-green eyes glanced down at the herbs the older tom was checking, and she bent over to give them a curious sniff. "Your plant doesn't seem to be doing so well, Uncle Apollo," she noted, softly poking at a withered leaf with her paw. "What do you usually use it for?"

Apollo turned slightly, letting out a breathy laugh at the sight of his niece, expression turned up into a grin. "Nice to see you up and about, Laela." He purred, gently touching his nose to her ear in greeting before looking at the sad state of the aquasis once more. "No, it's not meant for swiftly moving waters. We use aquasis leaves for poison bites, and the stems for tyke, white, or green cough. Our supply was pretty depleted after this past few season's outbreak of greencough, and I've been trying to grow our usual herbs in new surroundings. Some are faring better than others."
Laela purred under her uncle's affectionate greeting, before glancing over the row of plants at the soft, gentle flow of river beyond it. Looking down, the young Raiser couldn't resist making a funny face at her own reflection before noticing Apollo's somewhat concerned expression. "Is there anything we could do about it?" She asked, watching her uncle's face in the water rather than looking up at him. "Maybe make our own little pond for the aquasis?"
Apollo hummed slightly in thought before nodding slightly. "If we can find soft enough ground, that's not a half bad idea." He agreed, glancing at his niece with a warm smile.
