Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The tabby paced about in their den. Well, it didn't fell like their den anymore. She had gradually separated her own nest from his a set it in the corner. Since then, she always made sure to sleep facing away from him. She didn't want to anger him. Azura didn't want to remind him of what she had done to their family. Above all, not facing him alleviated some of the guilt she felt. It was a cruel coping mechanism, something she had come to realize not long ago. Since talking with Littlestar and then ranting with Autumngossamer, she realized on some level what she had done in the past few moons. She hated it, but part of her would do it all again. It was a strange, swirling dynamic that Azura had to end, even if it would put her in pain yet again. Keeping her gaze low, she anchored her paws to the floor and waited for Romancefable to return.

Even with Azura pushing him away, Romancefable had refused to give up on her. Trying to comfort her when he could, leaving her food to find when she awoke, staring at the rise and fall of her sides long after she had drifted off to sleep. The distance between them caused his heart to ache, wanting to be there for his mate while at the same time trying to give her the space she needed to heal. No matter how long it took, he would be there waiting when she was ready. Pushing down his own doubts, insecurities, and grief so that he could focus all of his energy on her.
Even now, he had spent some time de-feathering a raven before bringing it back to their den so that it was easier to eat. She was already going through so much that her food should be the least of his concerns. He padded inside, surprised to see her sitting there with such an intense stare. He walked foward placing it at her paws with a small purr rumbling in his throat "I brought you some food..." he had guessed that she was out visiting the grave again, and the walk there and back was quite tiring
Her breathing hitched as he walked in. Her heart fluttered in her chest. She couldn't meet his eyes. Azura bowed her head. She couldn't do this. No, she had to. Her wants did not matter. He deserved better. She had to do better for him. But it hurt already. Her mind reeled in anguish. She promised herself that she would. She had to. But everything hurt...
I'd tell you it will get easier, but to be honest, it won't. Littlestar's harsh words rang in her ear. You'll just learn to live with that pain. This was the first step in that. It would hurt... but keeping it pent up would only make it worse. It physically pained her to raise her wistful gaze to meet her mate's. That amber gaze meant the world to her just moons ago. It used to remind her of the persistent tom's antics. But it didn't now. That amber gaze just intensified her regrets. But it had to be done. She opened her mouth to speak, and nothing came out for a moment. "I-I know you must have mixed feelings about the past few moons... but I'm so, so sorry about what I've done. I'm ashamed of what I've done..." Tears welled from the corners of her eyes. "I just..." Her voice trailed off as the tears started flowing. "I..."
The moment she spoke, Romancefable was at her side. His fur brushing against hers, and his tongue licked at the tears that had started to fall "Hey, Hey, Azura" he mewed softly, his tail lightly stroking her back "You have nothing that you need to apologize for. We had a big loss, and you are grieving. It's ok. Everyone grieves in their own way, I'm not upset with you" she may have pushed him away, but his feelings for her never faltered "I gave you space, because I thought it was what you needed, but I'm not angry Azura" He kissed her cheek, sweetly
"Azura you are the love of my life. It doesn't matter what you say or do, that is never going to change"
She would have been so angry at someone like her if she were in his position. But here he was, telling her that he held no grudges, that she had nothing to apologize for. She really couldn't believe him, but he seemed as genuine as he ever was. She leaned into him as he walked to her side, but still did not let her eyes meet his. "I... I want to get better. I want to move on... but I just can't." She paused. "I've been horrible to you. But I don't want to do that anymore."
