SunClan's camp was quiet, the sun having dipped below the horizon long ago. In the High Priestess den, Littlestar slept curled up against her mate in their newly made nest in her former quarters. They had both been working hard to try and bring SunClan back from the brink of collapse, and it left little time for either of them to rest, even now she only settlednowing that the Janus were attending the wounded and would wake her should something go awry. It was a shallow sleep, her eyes only half closed as images danced their way across the back of her eye lids. Suddenly she bolted upwards, her breaths coming in fast succession. It took her several moments to realize where she was at, before carefully slipping out of Skipsteps grip. She padded over to the spiral of pawprints, placing her paw on the one that she had made her first night in the High Priestess den.
Nestled on one side of it was Vixenkismets, and on the other was Bloodycrow's. He paw had grown since then, now overlapping all three of the brightly colored indentions that had survived so much. It was amazing how intertwined their fates were, one leader teaching the next to follow in their pawsteps. Then the cat teaching the next. It was a cycle of cruelty, one that she wasn't sure she was going to be able to break. How did one fix a system that had been flawed since before you were born? What if history repeated itself with whomever was chosen to serve as her Promised? Her mind drifted back to her conversation the day she had been convinced to stay. Duskslayer had said many hurtful things, but he wasn't wrong. She didn't deserve to be High Priestess anymore, but she was all SunClan had... Jetclaw
