Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Larkspur could feel the blood rushing in her ears, nearly drowning out the sound of her own thoughts. Tonight was one of her first solitary tasks as a Loyal Guard member. It wasn't too intense, just checking major landmarks for any sign of trespassing or danger. It had been suggested that Larkspur take someone with her, but the problem with being her was that she was an acquaintance to most and lacked true relationships to a point someone might want to go with her.
Her light blue eyes scan the camp, looking for someone who didn't seem busy so she could maybe convince them to be dragged along with her. "Hey!" She calls, padding up to a cat who had just finished a meal. "Can I ask you a huge favor?" The black she-cat sits at a decent distance, awaiting politely for a response from the other cat.
Violetglass looked up at the sound of the cat's voice--Larkspur, the newest member of the loyal guard. "No," she said, and turned away. Then the guilt started to eat at her, so she sighed and turned back around. "Okay, maybe. What is it?"
the black she-cat sighs with relief when Violetglass turns, her tail swooshing lowly across the ground. "A couple of apprentices found a body in the old bear's den. Aspenstar wants me to check around with someone for signs of danger. Or what might have killed him..." she attempted to keep her voice steady, but she was nervous. And she really did not want to go alone. Although Larkspur could fend for herself, she didn't know how well she'd be able to square up to whatever had killed a cat.
OH MY GOD I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THIS CUZ I FORGOT TO BOOKMARK IT LMAO IM SO SORRY
Violetglass sighed deeply and got to her paws. "Alright," she said, feeling very unenthusiastic about the whole thing. She never should have agreed to Aspenstar's suggestion of becoming a loyal guard member. She should've just asked to be an elder instead. "I'll be your backup. Are you ready to leave right now?"
( you’re good lmaoooo I forget to bookmark threads constantly <3 )
Larkspur dips her head. “Yeah, I’m ready. Thank you.” The gratitude was evident in her voice. She didn’t really know Violetglass too much, other than the fact she was a senior loyal guard member. Since she’d joined, the guard hadn’t met up quite yet. Just for her scuffle with Pinesimmer, which honestly, she was quite embarrassed about now. She points her nose towards the cave entrance. “Skunkpaw and Ceruleanpaw didn’t see whatever killed the cat. So we should be on lookout as soon as we leave.”
"Fantastic," Violetglass grumbled, "so it's a complete mystery then. I hope this beast is something exotic and foreign so we at least leave interesting corpses behind." That probably wasn't the most encouraging thing to say, but she didn't know how to make it any better, so she didn't try. They stopped outside the entrance to the cave, and Violetglass peered inside dubiously. "...After you."
“Well. The body’s probably still there unless something dragged it off so we could inspect the wounds. Skunkpaw said a dog or a fox, I trust his judgement.” The rest of the walk was a weird silence, not exactly unwelcome.
The black she cat starts in, surprised to not be met with the smell of death. She stands, allowing her eyes to adjust to the darkness. “Can you see anything? I can’t see two steps in front of me.” She mutters, scared to go any further. She didn’t want to fall and manage to injure herself. “You ever been in here before?”
