Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Coralpaw stalked her way into the apprentice's den, in a horrible mood--not that she wasn't always in a horrible mood. Training hadn't gone well that morning and she'd been on punishment duty in the nursery for the whoke afternoon. Now she finally had time for herself, and so she made her way to her usual spot before realising there was someone in her place. "Outta my way, smoothbrain," she growled, barely even bothering to look who it was. "That's my spot. Out."
Celestialpaw, on the other hand, was having a great morning. She’d spent some time with Servalpaw before hunting, and she’d made a great catch of a large bird that could feed more than one cat. After her hunting exertion, she was exhausted, so she just came in and took the first empty nest. Usually she stayed on the outskirts of the den, towards the entrance, but someone had taken that usual spot. It felt like nest musical chairs. Celestialpaw woke up abruptly from her nap, blue eyes snapping wide open. She narrows her eyes at Coralpaw, before taking a breath. This was Servalpaw’s friend, she needed to be civil. Even if she was upset. “I didn’t realize we had assigned nests, sorry.” She didn’t mean it to sound sarcastic, but to an already upset cat it might come off that way.
Coralpaw’s head snapped up. “Oh, yeah? Well, I’m gonna assign my fists to your face if you don’t get up and move it already,” she hissed, poking the apprentice in the flank. “No wonder Servalpaw’s been so slow recently, he’s been hanging out with you too much.”
Celestialpaw felt the comment in her chest, constructing her heart for a moment. She didn’t want to be made fun of, especially since she had started off being nice. Slow? She could show her slow. The she-cat yawns loudly and obnoxiously, not moving from her spot. “I feel,, faint.” She sighs dramatically, before closing her eyes and allowing her body to go limp. Screw civility, if Coralpaw wasn’t going to be kind after she had been, then she wasn’t going to be either.
Coralpaw gave an exaggerated eye roll, one that actually had her flinch in pain from how hard she rolled them. Note to self, stop doing the damn eye roll. I’m going to give myself cataracts or something.
“Oh StarClan, now you’ve gone and caught whatever nasty disease Jetstar caught in that...whatever gross Clan she went to. Is that it?” She huffed. “Well, everyone knows sick cats go to the medicine den. So move it,” she huffed, attempting to shove Celestialpaw off the nest entirely and failing miserably, punctuating every word with another useless shove, “you—useless—sack of—fur!”
Celestialpaw's ears pricked forward with interest. She'd known Jetstar had been ill, but she didn't realize it was due to her going to another clan. It would make sense if Coralpaw knew, however, considering she was her apprentice and all. "I have 'i don't respond to fleabag disease' and it's incurable, sorry." she says, making her voice as sickly sweet and genuine as possible. "It's a horrible-" cough "case." cough. Celestialpaw wraps her tail around herself once more. "Now if you excuse me, I'm sick and I need rest. Being in your presence has aggravated my symptoms."
"GET. OFF. MY. NEST. YOU. HORRIBLE. REPULSIVE. LITTLE. CREATURE," Coralpaw screamed, her shoving increasing tenfold. It probably looked crazy to anyone watching the chaos unfold, but Coralpaw had these kinds of tantrums pretty often. "Servalpaw was my friend first, you think I couldn't take him away from you in a millisecond? A nanosecond? Well, THINK AGAIN!"
“It’s not your nest! You mouse brain!” Celestialpaw fights back, her blue eyes upset. She eventually kicks out her back leg to wack Coralpaw directly in the side. When Servalpaw’s name was mentioned, she stops, confused, “are you... jealous? Of my friendship with Servalpaw???” The thought makes her laugh. “Dude, chill. He’s not gonna drop you guys just because we’re friends. There’s enough of him to go around.”
Coralpaw made an ungainly noise when Celestialpaw whacked her in the flank. "Jealous? D-don't make me laugh!" she sneered. "Why would I be jealous that Servalpaw has more friends than me? I like myself the way I am thankyouverymuch!!!"
Celestialpaw grins realizing she might have found a point of weakness in the other she cat. She had caught the quick stutter, and to her that sounded like a confession within itself. “Now, now Coralpaw. I never ever said anything about you liking or disliking yourself. Do you wanna talk about it?” She teased, quite proud of herself that she’d found something she might be able to use to her advantage.
"Coralpaw, I won't judge you. Tell me everything." At this point, Celestialpaw was being petty, but she was horribly amused. She sat up in the nest like a cat therapist, waiting patiently for the other she-cat's response. "When did you start feeling this way?"
"Y-you don't know me well enough to ask questions like that, smoothbrain!" Coralpaw hissed. "What, is anything gonna change if I tell you I've felt like this all my life?! No!!! So you just give me the nest because I don't have much else!!!!!"
"Unbiased view, all the more reason I should be asking these questions." As much as she was enjoying this, she was also starting to feel a bit bad. Due to their argument, some apprentices had made their way out of the den. Oops. Celestialpaw glances out of the den, humming softly. "You really should talk to someone though." Her blue eyes scan Coralpaw once over. Then the long legged she-cat stands and leaves the den.
