His sleep was never undisturbed, but tonight was particularly unsettling for the deputy. He kicked out in his sleep, his large paws causing the cart in which he slept to clang out in the night. It caused him to shoot up, eyes wide with worry, though he blinked it quickly away as he took in his surroundings. Nothing smelled of smoke, nothing smelled of strangers, in fact, it seemed he was, as usual, unfortunately alone, with no foe or friend around. It was helpful to not have to explain the bloody nightmares he held, but it was chilling to know he was by himself in this one cat war. He sighed, shaking out his thick pelt, ridding himself of the dust of sleep as he lowered himself from his nest, the moon still high in the sky. The deputy padded towards the warrior's den, his shadow stretching before him, announcing his arrival to anyone that was awake, yet it seemed the greeting committee was to be found still in their nests. He approached, lingering in the mouth of the long cave as he watched them sleeping, a small longing in his heart as he turned away, slipping silently into the territory.
Frenzy had taken to sitting and watching the shadows creep across the carnival during the night. She could only imagine what the landscape would have looked like if all of the little suns on the machines were actually lit up. Even in the complete darkness, though, the beheamoths were fascinating...
It was then that she noticed another large shadow, although certainly not as large as the giant wheel. She turned her head towards the shape, her eyes trying to focus. "Oh," she murmured, realizing that the other cat was the deputy. "I don't often see cats around at this time of night," she called out to him.

"I'm not normally out this time of night either," Heavypetal called back, narrowing his eyes into a squint to try to make out who exactly it was talking to him. The voice was familiar, the face not so much, but he had heard them enough to know that they were a clanmate, and not a particularly threatening one. He quickened his pace, just enough to not be noticeable, but enough yet to get him away from being alone as quick as he could. "What are you doing out here anyways?" he asked as he neared, only a few tail lengths away, as his ears perked in curiosity.
Frenzy offered him a dip of her head when he came closer and morphed from giant shadow to cat in front of her eyes. She gave a signature half-smile half-smirk, before shrugging. "The night air's refreshing this time of year," she meowed with a shrug. "Plus, the last two times I've gone out during the day, I've gotten myself in trouble. First with the House from Hell with Peachblush and the Tunnel of Terrors with Cradlegrave. Not that I'm not used to some horrific accident happening when he 'n I interact." She let out a laugh, although behind her eyes was a flash. Cradlegrave and Frenzy surely did have a not super great record of adventures. "How bout you? What keeps you out this far after sunset?"

"The night noises are not fond of me, nor kind," he explained, "And as you said... the night air is refreshing this time of year. The new place is refreshing too, much better than the ditch we called home just moons ago," he decided. He shuffled his paws where he had stopped, soft moss and sand below his claws. "Would you like to take a walk in this refreshing air? Scout at night? See whats about at this odd hour?"
