Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cradlegrave frowned to himself as he did another count of all the prey on the fresh-kill pile, thinking back to the hunting patrol he'd returned from just a few minutes ago. He'd caught a rabbit and a mouse, the other two warriors had caught two vole and three birds between the two of them, and that wasn't even counting the prey that had been on the pile before he'd left. Now the rabbit and a vole had mysteriously vanished, with no one eating them in sight. Cradlegrave was uncertain that anyone could eat an entire rabbit in the few minutes since he'd been back, and the kits and elders had already had their breakfast today, which could only mean one thing--someone had taken it.
"Tarnation," he muttered under his breath, "damn these Clan cats and their giant stomachs." When he'd lived in the desert he'd gone entire weeks on one meal a day, and sometimes even days without anything to eat at all! He turned on his heel and looked around for someone to talk to about the issue--either to find an investigative partner, or find a suspect to interview.

"Someone take the one you were looking forward to?" Heavypetal approached the fresh-kill pile, already having his fill while on a solo patrol earlier, but the sight of his leader standing frustrated over it was enough to peak his interest. He dipped his head in respect, curious as to what all the commotion could be, but understanding not getting your favourite prey, it was just something he figured came with clan life, not that it was glamourous, but much better than eating nothing at all. He tried not to let the questions read on his face, his brows furrowed as he looked from Cradlegrave to the pile, and then back again, his tail tip twitching in anticipation of the explanation.
Cradlegrave's ear twitched. "Somethin' like that," he said. It wasn't like he'd had his eye on it or anything, but...couldn't whoever took it shown a little more restraint, rather than snatching it off the pile almost as soon as it had gone on? "You didn't see the culprit, did you?" he asked, leaning in a little closer to murmur lowly in Heavypetal's ear. "Any cats you know got a big stomach and a penchant for hoardin'?" He paused for a second. "It wasn't you, was it?"

The large tom chuffed under his breath, but refused to flinch at the sudden proximity of the other, "Wasn't me, didn't see anyone either," he said, rather slowly, as if each word was important, though he knew they weren't. "I just came back from a patrol, and to be fair I'm not sure what we're even lookin' for... What exactly are you looking for, Cradlegrave?" he asked, raising a brow as he shuffled his large paws below him, knowing that this was going to lead to some goose chase that all of his clan seemed to like getting into.
"Listen man, I just get all vexed about things like this," Cradlegrave huffed. "I just lugged that thing all the way to camp--I mean, I was kinda hopin' an elder or a queen would get it or somethin', not some rando apprentice lookin' to take more than he gave."
THIS THREAD RISES FROM THE DEPTHS, IT SHALL NOT GO THE WAY OF THE HEAVYPEACH ONE EVEN IF I DID ONLY REPLY WITH LIKE TWO LINES

lmao i was almost the one to bury it this time
"If you think it was apprentices we could send them out to hunt another, surely there should be a warren around here somewhere. Its the right time of year for them too," he offered, trying his best not to buy into any fantastical ideas. Certainly someone took it, but no one would have been able to eat a whole hare themselves, bones and all. "We could always try to find the culprit as well, maybe stop by the apprentice den, or the nursery?" he continued, wondering if the other tom would even consider these to be reasonable routes of action.
Cradlegrave pondered the options in his head. "I don't just want a replacement rabbit," he muttered, "I want justice." Then he realised how dramatic that sounded, so he cleared his throat and pressed on. "Nursery first," he decided. "There's some...problem kids over there."
i asked @ian if they wanted to rp one of their swift kits in this thread but i dont know how busy they are so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ xD

Heavypetal tried to put the dissonance of this whole situation aside, trying to figure out how the kits having the rabbit would be problematic if Cradlegrave had wanted a queen to have it, the two scenarios were just about the same to him. But he nodded, picking himself up to follow after his leader towards the "problem" kits.
Meanwhile Limekit tossed a mossball around unsuspecting of what all was about to happen. He flicked his tail, squeaking in greeting to the two older toms, wondering what would bring them over to the nursery today, they almost never had visitors, especially not the leader and deputy.
Melonkit was watching from a short distance away; when he saw the leader and deputy approach the nursery, he bounded up onto his paws and jogged over to stand closer to Limekit. "Hey, what's the special occasion, folks?"
A funny look came over Cradlegrave's face before he smoothed over his expression. "You two. Are you...hungry, by any chance?"

The silver tabby raised an incredulous brow at Cradlegrave's question to the kits, wondering just what it was that he was trying to get at, and hoping that this wasnt as serious as it was all being made out to be. There was no way it could be right? This investigation? He was only certain that he was getting wound up in it farther than he needed to be.
Meanwhile Limekit looked at his brother at the question, wondering just what their leader was on about, "I could eat," he answered sincerely, pricking his ears, "Were you guys gonna bring us something?" he asked.
"No, we weren't," Cradlegrave said, very stiffly. He turned to Heavypetal and coughed. "This ain't workin' out like I thought it would," he said in a low murmur. "You try somethin'."
Melonkit huffed. "You two gonna bring us something to eat or not? I'm famished over here! And I just learnt that word today, so you know it's serious!"
