Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Jetstar had missed out on an apparently very exciting Gathering that Dancingdragon and Goldengriffon had to go to in her stead.
Admittedly that Gathering had been a few moons ago and there was much to process. StarClan apparently showing up and declaring that all clans that followed them had to essentially abandon all those that did not.
WinterClan had abused kits, (Jetstar was very pleased that unlike some of SpringClan's less than shiny examples of leadership she had avoided falling into this pratfall), but it was clear her clan was disgusted by the behavior. Or that's what she felt, she hoped the clan was disgusted by this behavior.
Truthfully she wanted to find something to motivate her clan to turn them into the fighting force she so desperately wanted to be at the head of. She knew she'd never have an army like SunClan, but a band of warriors fighting for what they felt was right, was still something.
Her tail flicking behind her as she mulled it over. The most important thing was she bring her council together and figure out where to go forward with Spring.
And hopefully they'd reveal a noble cause she could drive her clan towards.

Blackberry had made sure his pelt was impeccable. He was never late for a meeting, and was especially prompt for his first. The large tom brandished his pride in his position like a weapon, chest puffed with readiness as he waited for the others to join he and Jetstar, and though he tried not to let the nervous tension he held onto in being so close to the leader show, his hidden claws dug at the soft earth under his neatly curled tail.
This whole thing was still new to her. The ‘socializing with high ranking felines’, ‘interacting with literally only adults all the time’, and ‘high expectations as future prophecy teller and healer’ shtick. Sakurapaw was proud, don’t get her wrong, but...
She didn’t quite know what she was doing here. Not in the world or in the clan, but in this exact moment, padding hesitantly toward Jetstar and Blackberry. They seemed to be the only two who had arrived so far. She swallowed, smiling slightly up at the leader before taking a seat some foxlengths away from the two, not so far as to be out of earshot but not so close as to be punished if she misunderstood the call of assembly.
Glancing at Blackberry, she nodded her head in respect toward the newly named trusted as well, the movement causing her to briefly zero in on his claws dug into the earth. Her heart lightened a bit. Perhaps she wasn’t the only one who was nervous. That was a relief in itself, the idea that even fully fledged warriors could feel this way.
The ivory Trusted sauntered out of the den behind Blackberry, her pelt in its fresh state of dishevel from a restless sleep and Dancingdragon not caring enough to correct it, and she took a seat beside Jetstar. The gathering-- in which she'd posed as SpringClan's interim leader instead of her mate-- was far from her mind this morning, her thoughts drifting more toward the fresh-kill pile than actual business.

Following just behind Dancingdragon was Ratprince, the perfect contrast to the she-cat’s disheveled fur with his pelt freshly groomed and glistening in the light. He had always been conscious of his reputation, but after the recent promotion, his concerns had nearly doubled. Perfection was of the utmost importance to him and so it was satisfying to have arrived on time, if not early to such an occassion. Although, he still wasn’t quite sure what to think about being a Trusted. Pushing that train of thoughts down, he sat near Blackberry while giving the group a nod of greeting. No nerves showed on Ratprince’s face as he waited for the meeting to commence. Rather feelings of curiosity were what overtook him as he wondered what is was they were to discuss.
Jetstar nodded as her trusted all gathered around her pleased with their punctual responses.
"Even though Goldengriffon and Fawnheart have yet to arrive, I think we can begin." Jetstar said curling her tail around her paws.
"You are all my most trusted council, so we need to discuss as we go into Newleaf, the actions we should take going forward for the good of the clan,"
Jetstar glanced at Dancingdragon. "While I was ill and unable to make the gathering, I learned that a very troubling truth was revealed. WinterClan had been abusing kits, kits they called demons and thus punished them for simply the crime of existing."
"This is unacceptable." Jetstar said simply. "However, we are faced with a simple fact we must accept. WinterClan is far better trained than us, so simply marching on them will do nothing. As a result I wanted to open a discussion on what you all think we should do about this. Or if we should do nothing."
"The warrior code states that a kit regardless of clan shall be helped, and though the kits they abused are no longer kits, I feel the statement holds true. WinterClan, or better yet Wintrystar, should not be allowed to act against arguably the easiest part of the code to follow. But that is my personal feelings, I put it to all of you to share what your thoughts are."

Goldengriffon had quickly trotted into the den. He had wanted to stop by the nursery to check on Dancingdragon, but of course, his wife was nowhere to be seen. It was only then that he remembered that Jetstar had wanted to hold a council meeting. He had hurried over to the leader's den, unsurprised to see his mate sitting there with the rest of the trusted. The deputy entered silently, taking a seat beside Jetstar and Dancingdragon as he curled his tail over his paws.
He flicked his ears as Jetstar quickly went over the events of the gathering. The pale tabby had been deeply disturbed by what Winterclan had done. To abuse kits in such a manner... it was despicable.
"Our warriors have started becoming stronger." Goldengriffon commented. "And the apprentices, aside from a certain trio, have all excelled in their training. Winterclan should be held accountable, but at the same time, we simply lack the numbers. I believe that Springclan should open their home to those mistreated by Winterclan... its no secret how harsh they can be towards their own members."
Jetstar nodded. "Yes, but it sounded like they've already relocated," She admitted, "I have been musing that perhaps we could take over the area of their territory beside the river border."
The valley was rich with important and essential herbs. Taking over that area could be seen as a punishment.
"Or perhaps we can reach out to Ratstar and Hystericstar and speak with them about what we should do about WinterClan's abhorrent actions." Jetstar said. "I don't want to police a clan, but I also feel that kits should be treated well by all regardless of clan or birth."
It was funny how easy it was to not be a terrible leader of SpringClan. Just don't be a kit hating tyrant who threw out the cats that didn't agree. In fact if anything keeping Dancingdragon at her side had made Jetstar more popular, much to her Trusted's chagrin.
"Oh, stand by and hope mistreated kits can find their way here?" Even if they were mates, not even Goldengriffon was reserved from the brunt of his mate's ferocity. "These kits might not still be kits, but we don't know where Wintrystar draws the line. There could be more being abused as we speak, sitting here in our cozy camp with our not-abused kits doing nothing. Some might consider inaction worse than the crime itself." Her bushy tail swept close to her belly, which was largely swollen as she rapidly approached her due date, and Dancingdragon couldn't help but imagine her own kits being subjected to such cruelty.
Her gaze flickered aside when Jetstar spoke next, the Truusted falling silent to consider what she proposed. "If we could combine forces with SummerClan and FallClan, we'd have a force capable of withstanding WinterClan's might. Taking the territory is a good starting point-- but I say we go all in and remind them what being a warrior means. Or I'll go myself and you all can grovel at my feet when I take that kit-beating piece of iced-over polar bear dung down all by myself."

“I agree that we should act against WinterClan in some way. Even if the victims are no longer kits, it’s not unreasonable to assume they treat other kits to the same degree. However, like you said, we might not be able to accomplish as much as we’d like with our current numbers,” Ratprince thought aloud in a soft tone—nearly a whisper. He was still a little unsure about giving advice to cats with such authority, but he wanted to be useful in this discussion too.
“I think it would be worth considering asking Hystericstar or Ratstsr for assistance, but I also worry about what message this would send about us... Our clan hasn’t been the most successful in battles in recent moons, so if we have a chance to show that we alone are a threat, perhaps we should take advantage of that?”

"You won't be going anywhere." Goldengriffon stated with a small snort. "We'll need someone of your prowess to stay here and train those that are still behind on training." He added quickly, hoping to ease the fire that he knew would come.
"Yes, I've heard that many of the kits that Wintrystar referred to as "demons" have located." The deputy said looking back towards Jetstar. "But I believe it's safe to say that perhaps there are others within Winterclan that might not agree, but are too fearful to say anything. I can go to Summerclan and speak with Ratstar or his deputy. But I think going "all in" as Dancingdragon proposed, may prove to be a mistake. We should at least hear what the other mountain clans think first, as you have already suggested, Jetstar. It does seem like our best option."

“Oh. I’m Ratprince,” he said with a sideways glance at Dancingdragon. Wasn’t her favorite Goldengriffon or was he missing something? Flustered from receiving the sudden attention, he turned his gaze back to Jetstar.
Dancingdragon rose and whipped around so she and Goldengriffon were nose-to-nose. "And you're going to stop me? Try it and I'll pluck every last one of those gray hairs off your chin and choke you with them," she snarled. "You all can sit around and twiddle your paws while I'll be making history. I can see the headlines now: Amazingly Strong SpringClan Trusted-And-Future-Leader Single-pawedly Takes Down WinterClan. So, which side of history do the rest of you want to be on?"

Goldengriffon should have known this would have happened. Still, he stared his mate in the eyes as she threatened his poor speckled chin. Honestly, why did she always have to go for the low blows... though he supposed this was nothing compared to what she could really do. The deputy simply kissed her nose quickly.
"Dancingdragon, I love you, I do." He stated. "But you're in no condition to be fighting. You're pregnant. That's hard enough already. So unless you want our kits to actually know their father, I implore you to listen to me just this once." She really was going to give him a heart-attack one of these days...
"We simply don't have the numbers for an all-out attack. We should at least see what Hystericstar and Ratstar think of this first before any other action is taken."
"I'm here! I'm sorry!" Fawnheart barrelled in like a half-crazed maniac with herbs clinging to her soft pelt just as Jetstar was explaining the situation. After her bold entrance, she sat quietly in the corner, listening to the other cats talk as she cleared her fur of the herbs. Once the talking and suggestions had died down, she figured now would be the perfect time to speak up. "There is no shame in asking for help. Springclan has been through hell and back. No one would blame us for having weak forces." She stood up and walked into the center of the meeting. "Coming from someone who has seen and been through it all. Our best bet in beating Winterclan is to gather our allies. Perhaps some would even offer to train those who are behind on their training." Fawnheart then turned to look at Jetstar to speak to her directly. "I also know of one very talented warrior, though you may not wish to ask for her help. Dovewish has travelled beyond the territories and has learned many different skills. She cannot train everyone but she can help. And what we really need is a solid plan to attack. I say we talk to Ratstar and Hystericstar and see if they will help us and begin training and plotting our attack from there."

Blackberry had sat idly quiet before the flurry of commotion had come into the den alongside Fawnheart. He tipped his head, thinking mostly to himself, "Well as I see it, if were wantin' to gather us some forces, why dont we go about gathering them.. from Winterclan." he spoke, heavy with his drawl, "If we think theyre goin' out and torturin' the kits, we could just take 'em ourselves. Sneak on in, no need to fight, gather 'em round and head right on out. Easy if we knew someone on the inside, maybe we could find one of those relocators, have 'em weasel their way back in, get aaaalll buddy buddy again, and then they just escort those little darlin's right on back to us." He wasnt sure all how well his thoughts would be taken, but was rather just speaking to offer something to break his silence, hoping to be some form of useful.
Fawnheart turned to Blackberry, considering his plan. "Perhaps that could work but what would happen if something were to go wrong and we would need to fight? None of us would be prepared for that." She pointed out, kindly.

"I dont think that crossed my mind," he drawled, shuffling himself, almost to make himself look smaller, very difficult for a cat of his stature, yet he managed to shrink, just a bit, so that he could return to thinking quietly to himself about how they might go about teaching Winterclan a lesson.
