Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(I thought a pike x weevil thread would be cute <3)
"Weevilpaw!" Pikepaw's voice carried into the apprentices' den, where he was sure his friend was still sleeping soundly within it, despite the clamor of a camp whose warriors were in full swing. "C'mon, we're on patrol together today! Ratstar said he was trusting us to handle the most important patrol today on our own!" He'd missed the mischievous glint in the leader's single eye, too eager at the prospect of a grand adventure without chaperones to consider there might be ulterior motives for sending the pair out by themselves. He liked to believe Ratstar saw him as a capable, strong apprentice who would outshine his father's reputation, and obviously Weevilpaw would be the second-best warrior so it was only natural they got paired up! He stuck his head inside the den and squinted as he waited for his eyes to adjust, settling them on the scruffy gray apprentice. "Come on, even Sunpaw gets up faster than you!"
The Weevilpaw in question was snoring loudly in his nest, his furry form curled in on itself in a way that resembled a fluffy dust bunny...or a messy rats nest, it really depended on the cat looking at him. His ear absentmindedly twitched hearing his best friend's voice from afar, and his eyes slowly blinked away. "Huhhh wasssit?" He groaned and rolled over, still groggy from sleep. What was Pikepaw so excited about? Something about a patrol? Didn't seem all that exciting, but the leader's son knew better than to keep his companion waiting. Letting out a wide yawn, he stretched out in his nest. "I'm comin', I'm comin'...don't get bees in ya brain..."
He may as well have been standing on hot coals, bouncing from paw to paw, when Weevilpaw finally emerged, Pikepaw weaving around him and ushering him toward the camp entrance without so much as a moment for him to argue. "We're getting a solo patrol today, like proper warriors!" Ever since kithood, he'd strived to reach his unreachable goals and show SummerClan-- and his father-- he would be the best of the best, especially now that Sunpaw was chosen as top of their class. He knew he was better than Her Royal Highhorse and this patrol would prove it! "Where do you think we should go? Past the Deep Lands for sure, but should we head north towards the SpringClan border or past the meadows to FallClan's? They've both been pretty quiet lately," he remarked absently, his brow furrowed into deep thought, their options feeling truly endless and crucial to the success of their patrol. He glanced over at his friend, who was as leisurely and unperturbed as always. "What do you think, Weevilpaw?"
"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....." Weevilpaw, still shaking off his sleepiness, trailed absentmindedly along behind his best friend, half-tripping over various branches and roots and even his own tail. He was content to just take in the nice weather of the day and listen to Pikepaw excitedly ramble on; he wasn't exactly the kind of cat to take charge anyway. So, when Pikepaw asked his opinion, he stalled with a thoughtfully hum before finally, or too soon to actually be convincing, giving a shrug. "I don' know," he answered simply. "But we've been to both those places lots o' times already, haven't we? If we're free to go wherever without chaperones, why not explore or somethin'?"
"Hmm, I guess you're right." Weevilpaw did raise some good points. Pikepaw couldn't count the amount of times he'd accompanied his mentors and the older warriors on patrols to those parts of the territory, as they were the most trafficked, but the other route was cut off by the Southern Sea, leaving only one area they could venture that most cats strayed away from. "Wanna go see the Thunderpath? I think I got to look at it once from a distance, but Tornadoeuphoria doesn't like it around there since most the prey caught on it rots and there are better seasoning herbs in the gardens" StarClan, he knew far too much about food now, thanks to his reassignment to Tornadoeuphoria after Camelphoenix swam away, never to be seen again. He didn't even care about new recipes or whatnot.
