Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
CONTEXT The Pythoness is the source of NightClan's upcoming major plot arch. She is an elemental, but what NightClan doesn't know, is she is a demonic elemental. She settled in NightClan following a major injury as a random rogue, but slowly she has started to flex her muscles and show her skills. The Pythoness is a projectionist, which means that she has the power to manipulate what other cats see and experience. She projects whole new worlds onto cats, allowing them to experience things they never would have dreamed of. Her power comes with a catch, though: cats must accept her suggestions. In order for her to transform the experience of the cats around her, they must first allow themselves to be influenced. At first, this is daunting to some, but, through time, cats start to trust her and ask her to show them various things. Soon enough, Aspenstar catches wind of it, and subjects herself to the Pythoness' power. After experiencing herself that the power did no harm, she informs the clan that they can trust The Pythoness and her power (which, spoiler alert, will have been a terrible decision).
GOAL OF THREADOne of the Pythoness' favorite things to do is to help cats deal with emotional duress. Your cat will seek out the Pythoness for this purpose. A panic attack or something similar would probably work best, although if your cat was brutally angry / hopelessly depressed, she could also help. Once your cat approaches her and explains their particular ailment, she will ask them if they will accept her suggestion and see what she sees. At that point, she will "project" a scene onto the cat that she believes would solve their ailment (ie: if a kitten was crying she might project a scene with a butterfly that the kit could chase). Your cat will then hear/see/smell/taste what the Pythoness wants them to. Using the projection, she will help to solve your cat's psychological issue.
WARNING : BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS THREAD, YOU ARE CONSENTING TO HAVING THE PYTHONESS' POWER USED ON YOUR CAT. if that doesn't seem like your thing, no worries! as stated above, the pythoness' powers only work on cats that willingly submit to it! your cat doesn't have to accept her suggestions (or what she calls her projections), and there will be a large upcoming role for cats who refuse to accept her suggestions.i want to make it clear, though that no harm will come to your cat by participating in this thread.
there are going to be all sorts of these threads over the next few weeks as the pythoness seeks to gain influence over the group, so if your cat doesn't quite fit this particular prompt, do not worry ! there are more to come !
The Pythoness had settled into the den that they had found her quite nicely. It wasn't located in the camp with the other NightClan cats, but she had made it expressedly clear to Aspenstar that it was for the best. That way, the Pythoness promised, cats would have to seek her out for her guidance. The Pythoness had explained to Aspenstar that it was a precautionary measure, and Aspenstar had agreed that it was best to keep the work she did outside of the camp. The agreement had worked for both parties; the Pythoness had a space where her powers could be fully weilded without concern, and Aspenstar could ensure that only cats that wanted to come in contact with her unique skills would. Aspenstar could rest assured that there would be no collateral damage or unwilling victims.
It was then that she heard a cat approach the makeshift den. Her body shifted towards the entrance. Aspenstar had given explicit orders that no cat should enter the den without being invited in. The Pythoness wouldn't have set such a rigid rule herself, but she needed Aspenstar's trust. If that meant the cats around her had to abide by silly rules, so be it.
"You may come in," she called out. "I've been waiting for you."
