Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She looked like she had just died, and maybe that was because she almost did. And she wasn't just talking about the almost drowning - the absolute tomfoolery of it all was enough to make her almost die of embarrasment, too. This embarrassment was only emphasized by the task that was now at hand. Cradlegrave had made sure that she was... as okay as she could be before he left her to her own devices, but he was no medicine cat. She knew she needed treatment, if nothing else than for the horrible hoarseness that coughing up the water had left her.
"Ahava," she called into the den, her voice scratchy and weak still. It sounded exhausted, but she supposed given her excitement of the day, she had the right to sound exhausted. "I know it's early," it was only early evening, "but I think I should be seen."

Cana had been lounging in her den, dozing after organizing and refilling her stores, only for her head to lift up gracefully at Aspenstar's entrance, not looking particularly affected by peering at the half-drowned leader with her one good eye. "Yes, I think you should. What happened, exactly?" She got to her paws, padding over nearer to the she-cat, looking curious as to why Aspenstar had chosen to go for a swim in any season that wasn't greenleaf. Ahava wasn't actually sure that the leader COULD swim, which just made this situation all the more peculiar.
She let out an awkward cough. "Oh, well, you know..." This was the part of her day that she had been dreading almost more than looking Cradlegrave in the eye after he fished her out of the water. "I was... entertaining a guest, and I may have had a little slip up..." Aspenstar had to pause to let out a cough, another sign that she wasn't as okay as she was trying to act like she was. "I... don't really know how to say this, so maybe I... should avoid the specifics.... but I think I may have drown?" She looked sheepish as she spoke, refusing to make eye contact with her medicine cat.
"Well, you may as well tell me, it may be relevant to your care. I'm curious as to why you decided to drown yourself for someone else's entertainment." Cana commented, still staring at the leader as she pulled herbs one by one. Pretty simple stuff, considering. Culver's root, feverfew, honey, lavender, a small bit of tansy. "I'm not sure a near death experience is worth whatever amusement your guest got out of it."
"Oh, I don't think he got much amusement. I'm actually quite concerned about that, if we are being honest with each other. Cradlegrave'll be Cradlestar after a while, and then we'll have to look at each other on that damned tree and carry that secret between us and pretend that doesn't make life a little bit less comfortable." She shuddered, before glancing at the herb pile. At least they didn't seem that bad. "I was trying to fish. Do you know that there are bigger-than-cat sized fish in the river? I certainly didn't, but I certainly do now," she meowed with a raspy cough. "Didn't realize the thing was so big when I tried."
