Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
This rp is in replacement of the prophecies. Since it was voted to abandon StarClan, StarClan has decided to observe certain cats to see if they have potential, which is why each of you are pinged with a specific “chosen” character of yours! You don’t have to participate, but if you do you will get a lot of character development out of it, especially for the next plot!
Over half a moon had passed since DayClan had chosen to walk their own path away from StarClan. Now DayClan’s kits had fallen ill under a mysterious sickness. Unfortunately their allies didn’t have the herb they were looking for and no clan that followed StarClan was going to allow their medicine cat to get the herb they needed when they were no longer followers. Unfortunately the sickness seemed there to stay as even new kits born began exhibiting the same signs of sickness even under isolation from the rest of the nursery.

Each cat awoke, but instead of waking up in their nests where they had slept it was into a forest, set to a static grey backdrop. The limbs of the tree were ashen and black with long gnarled tendrils that stuck out of the ground like claws. The unfriendly landscape was reminiscent of the Dark Forest, in fact it undeniably was the same black void.
In the distance they could hear the rattle sounds of movements, murmurs too far to be sure if it was about them, but close enough to sense. They were all out in the open shadowy woodlands, exposed to the surroundings and whatever lies within.
Gleamingpaw shivered as he took in his surroundings. What the heck is all this? he thought to himself, and briefly wondered if the illness had taken his life in his sleep. "Um, guys?" he called out, shrinking into himself as his fur stood on end. "Please tell me I'm not the only one seeing...well, this?"
this better not be just me replying to this guys LMAO
Buttercupglow spun around, trying to make out their surroundings and if there was a noticeable exit. "No, your not the only one seeing this..." The golden tabby bristled at the sounds of distant voices and movement. "This...this can't be right. Did we die and go to the dark forest because we chose to abandon Starclan? But...I don't remember feeling ill before turning in for the night...unless...we were murdered..." Her green eyes were round on fear and confusion but her claws remained flexed in case she had to fight her way out.
"Relax kitten, we brought you here," Came the teasing voice of a Dark Forest cat. His tall lanky blond body towered over the two in a chilled laid back posture. Upon approaching them they could see he had one missing eye with the second just barely hanging inside the socket. His paw pushed the eyeball further in, but it didn't seem to secure in place, "Mouse dung, lost the other," He said with a casual sigh, feeling the second empty socket, "Whatever, it always turns up. Point is I come here as a friend. A friend you haven't made yet," He smirked.
Rolling across the floor Bubblegleam would notice a blue eye winking at her.
"I'm here because I hear your clans fallen on hard times. Without good ol' reliable StarClan you can't get the herbs you need for the sick kits in the nursery. No one wants to let you in their sacred lands to look for herbs when they don't even consider you a clan," The demon tom soothed, "But I can tell you where to find those herbs. We can save the sick little ones back home if you pledge your soul to me, to the Dark Forest," He said, placing his cold as a corpse paw over Buttercupglow, "Our little secret," He whispered directly into her ear.
Buttercupglow turned sharp as the newcomer approached, her fur bristling and her claws extended. She was ready for a fight but was taken by surprise as he continued to talk, soothe them, and offer a deal. As he spoke on, she became more relaxed but still alert. Her ears perked at the mention of the herbs to save the kits dying in the nursery. However, a chill ran down her spine when he whispered in her ear. Would she really sell her soul to save her clan? This was her moment. She could be a hero, like her mother. A legend. Her family would surely be disappointed, maybe even angry at her, but they would forgive her when all the clan was safe. "How do we know we can trust you?" She asked, narrowing her eyes and taking a step back.
"I'm not exactly a beloved member of the Dark Forest," He said, sweeping the fur along his forehead he removed some of the sand that had been dusted across his face to reveal an odd jagged marking, radiating a white glow. "It's a kill mark, anyone in this forest is supposed to kill me on sight. So best chance for survival I have now is to prove that I have hmm. Redeemable qualities? For lack of better words. If I help you maybe StarClan will accept me, then I'm safe and your safe. If you don't accept that I'm right back to where I started."
He rubbed his claws against his fur to shine them, "So we got ourselves a deal day lighters?"
Sharp childish laughter flooded down the forested valley they stood in. "I don't think any deals gonna save your behind, Ashley!" Atop a nearby hill was a small kit, he looked absolutely mutilated to the point it was impossible to tell that his fur had once been white, but now was plastered with blood.
"Yeah, my names Ashley, hold on, I'll try and deal with this" The Dark Forest can said looking from Buttercupglow to the new Dark Forest cat, "Hey, Timmy was it?"
"My name... IS CHRONOS!" The kit shriek, as he stalked over. The blood on his pelt seemed to literally be boiling from the bloody bubbles rising off his pelt, splattering onto the ground with a hiss from the hot liquid melting up the grass.
"Heh. Chronos," He corrected himself cautiously, "How about you just bug off today, because a slug brain like yourself isn't going to be smart enough to help them to get yourself out of this place."
"You always think I'm just a pest you can just shoo away, but this time I have more friends," He smirked as dozens of inky black cats rose from the ground, their eyes shining white, a familiar color and glow to the marking on Ashley's forehead.
"Okay, we better run," Ashley said, before darting into the thicker piece of woodland, but was very aware that for as good of runners as DayClan cats were known to be, they were not used to heavily forested landscapes.
Buttercupglow thought for a moment. She felt bad for this cat. He was stuck here with a bunch of cats that hate him and he couldn't escape. At least they had a common enemy. The orange tabby hesitated, wondering if this really was the best decision to save them, but finally reached out a paw to accept the deal. But before the dark forest tom could shake her paw, a childish laugh caused her to jump and she whirled around to see a tiny white kitten covered in blood making his way toward them. The sight of his blood plastered pelt made her feel uneasy and the fur along her spine rose again. Just as quickly as the tiny kitten made his appearance, the ground began to shake and more cats crawled out of the ground like zombies. Only, faster and more violent-looking. She noticed the gleaming white eyes, one that resembled the marking on Ashley's head.
Suddenly, she felt like she couldn't trust anyone. She didn't want to run off with Ashley but she also couldn't stay there. He was their best hope for getting out alive. "Guys, let's go...NOW!" She yelled to her clan mates as the inky cats began hurtling toward them at an alarming speed. Dayclan cats could practically outrun any living cat but these were ancient cats with ancient battling techniques they probably had never seen before. Plus, they were now in unfamiliar territory, surrounded by dense forest. Their only chance of survival was to run to the best of their ability, though none of them were used to running through this sort of terrain.
Buttercupglow bolted after Ashley, hoping the rest of her clan mates would follow. The undergrowth beneath her paws, snagged and grabbed at her as she ran, slowing her down to more than half her normal speed. "I can't...I can't keep up!" She called after Ashely as she watched his tail getting further and further away from her. She just kept tripping and getting whipped in the face with branches she wasn't used to. She missed the open fields of Dayclan. She never had to worry about tripping unless there was a rabbit or fox hole.
"You're kidding," Ashley exclaimed, stopping only to see the ink monsters filtering through the forest grounds towards them like open claws ready to grasp and drag them to their hunter. Looking in two opposite directions as though trying to form a plan to help her move he realized there was none. Letting out a distressed groan he rubbed his paw through the top of his fur before lowering his voice, "Say no. Say you would never work with a dark forest cat. I'm not going to repeat myself, just say it out loud and angry. Please kitten?" He didn't move away from her as the ocean of inky black cats were closing in only a few fox lengths away.
"What?" She was confused as she came to a stop before Ashley. "You just asked me to work with you! Now your telling me to say that I won't?" She wanted answers but the desperation in his voice scared her into blurting out whatever he wanted to hear. "Alright, alright! I'll never work with a dark forest cat! Never!"
"Just do it!" Ashley hissed lowly at her before wincing as she said what he had asked her to say.
The approaching inky black sludge of cats had stopped, one of the inky cats even held its paw out only a claw length away from Buttercupglow's face. They seemed frozen in time, motionless, still holding the same amount of fury in their faces.
Ashley opened one eye before opening the rest, he looked around expectantly like something were supposed to appear.
"You did well Buttercupglow," Came the heavenly voice of Whispyfeather, a StarClan cat of DayClan origin, "A true follower of StarClan would never side with the Dark Forest, no matter the temptation, you passed our test." She said approvingly before turning to Ashley with a bemused expression, "Better luck next time for you, hmm?"
Ashley stirred his paw into the ground, there was no doubt it killed him inside that he gave up his one chance to get out in exchange for Buttercupglow's clan to be approved.
Whispyfeather nudged Ashley's chin up, "But StarClan does see all," She ventured cautiously before turning back to Buttercupglow, "You were considering accepting his offer, but he talked you out of it. Deciding to put DayClan and you above his own eternal torment. In other words, I almost feel this is kismet, you each make each other better people. I'll make you each an offer. Buttercupglow I will give you the ability to save your clan and Ashley I will give you a second chance at life, if you both agree to be devote followers. Should one of you stray from that path you will both face the consequences. Do you accept my offer?"
Ashley had been fiddling with his eyeball for a while, trying to knock it back into his socket while his other one was still missing. But even without his sight he didn't miss a beat, eagerly grinning, "Yeah star lady, I'll take whatever I can get to ditch this place."
Buttercupglow almost fainted in relief. Her adrenaline still causing her paws to shake. She just almost died in the dark forest and now Starclan is recruiting them to be their followers. How could she agree? The dark forest was willing to help her more than Starclan was. If it weren't for Ashley, she would have freely given her soul to save her clan. However, if she refused this offer, they may not honor Ashley's promise. Starclan was sketchy like that at times. Reluctantly, she nodded. "Y-yes." She didn't feel like she had passed any test. She would have just done whatever it took to help her clan. "F-forgive my stammering. I'm...still a bit shook over what I had just witnessed..." She dipped her head Whispyfeather. "I'm forever grateful for your offer to help save my clan. If only I were half the cat my mother was, I could save them single-pawed but...well, I guess I'm not. I accept your deal and I promise to uphold my end of it." The promise felt sour on her tongue for she felt she could not keep that promise. If Starclan ever did turn their backs on Dayclan and allowed them to suffer, Buttercupglow would do anything for her clan, regardless of her promise to the starry cats.
