Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Polarbast and his bff (ѕнαdow✩) after the divorce of Polarblast and Jaguarblood via the challenge day threads Plot: Friendship development, romantic confession, personal development for Polarblast, Polarblast breaking away from his family and their beliefs on purebloods in WinterClan and becoming his own cat. Polarblast working up the courage to confess to his long time best friend and possibly talk about repairing his relationship with his daughter.
The challenges were over and for that Polarblast was glad. He and Jaguarblood weren't good together, even if his family thought they were. They'd pushed him to choose her as a mate, mostly because of her blood status and not because they got along. But now, he was free of that. He'd beaten her in the challenges and gained his freedom from their marriage. It was....nice? He wasn't really sure. While he knew he didn't love the she-cat, never had, he also wasn't sure what else to do. For his whole life he'd followed his mother's rules to a T and now, he'd just broken her command by breaking up his marriage with the cat she approved of. And why? All because he couldn't bring himself to do it anymore. Polarblast wasn't happy with Jaguarblood, especially with how much like his mother she was.
The fluffy tom stood at the edge of the Jagged Falls, trying to figure out what to do next. What was his next step? Did he go groveling back to his mother and hope she wasn't to mad about his divorce? What would she say? He had no idea, but he was sure she was furious with him about it all. That was the main reason he hadn't been back to camp since the challenge. He couldn't bring himself to face his family, his mother, and explain why he'd done it. Because besides being unhappy, the tom wasn't really sure why he'd done it. It just felt...right.
(we talked about this but who all if Avalonmist related to? So I can add it to the family tree for later. Oh and Neverforgotten plays his mother, so we can always add her in for some drama if we want since he's breaking free form her control) ѕнαdow✩
Polarblast didn't need to look over to know who it was. Part of him was still reeling, anxious about his decision and what he'd done. But he couldn't go back, couldn't take Jaguarblood back, so here he sat. Panicking, anxious, and questioning his decisions. But there was another part of him, small but there. This part was excited to see who he could be outside of his mother's control. Stormsurge had her claw on the tom's throat his whole life, telling him who to be, how to act, and even who he should mate. He'd selected from a list of cats she'd approved of when choosing Jaguarblood as his mate. And none of that, the loyalty to his mother and clan and mate, were worth the way he felt. It'd taken time, but he'd slowly realized he didn't like who'd he'd grown up to be. His siblings hated him, his mother loved him, he was the perfect little soldier, and yet, he was the unhappiest cat around. Constantly worrying about what mother would think, how mother would do things, what mother would expect of him, never once wondering if he wanted something. He didn't want to be that cat anymore, he didn't want to be Poalrblast anymore. "Yeah....."
[ forgot to answer your question : Avalonmist is blood related to Kryoselixir and Northernlights, but only Kryos knows this right now, since if Avalon revealed that to everyone / anyone in the clan, word would get back to Northern and Kryos would tear her throat out. ]
The she-cat stared at him for some time before rolling her eyes and heaving a sigh. “Are you really going to make me do all the work?” Her tone was irritated, but there was a note of fond exasperation there too. There was always something that spoke of her care for the tom, whether it be in her actions or words, no matter how she tried to hide it.
“If you want to start living again, you need to figure out where your starting line is. I can help you only so much. So- Now that you’re free, what’s the first thing you want to do above all else? You can see anyone, speak to anyone, spend time with anyone.”
Her wide eyed expression grew threatening by a degree.
“But if your answer isn’t your children first and foremost, we will have words.”
(what's her blood status? Was trying to figure out reasons his mom wouldn't like her lol A good one would be just the fact that she doesn't believe the same way as Stormsurge, who is big on blood purity and all that. Also I'm pretty sure Avalonmist and Kryoselixir aren't on the page?)
Free? Was he free? Polarblast wasn't sure that's what he felt. Guilty, anxiety, and fear, definitely. But he wasn't sure if that small slither of feeling he was getting was freedom or something else entirely. He really sunk down into himself when he reminded him about his children. The children his mother had been furious to find out existed and then made sure he had no contact with. Did he dare inquire her wrath more by talking to them? He was pretty sure on Nightfreeze still lived in the clan at that. "I....." Where did one star in a situation like this? He had no idea what he was doing and was at a lost on how to act. Hi eyes, sad, lost, and hoping for some direction, gazed in his best friend's direction. Maybe....Could he do that? Could he just talk to Nightfreeze and fix things? It seemed to easy? It all seemed to easy. How he'd beaten Jaguarblood in the fight and divorced her, how his mother hadn't yet gotten wind of what'd happened, and the fact that Avalonmist was the first top find hi in is current state of....lost. "Ca..can I do that?" Did he dare hope? Was that what this feeling was? Hope for what was to come?
[ not yet, no. haven’t been doing so hot in the mental or physical health areas. keep forgetting to get on the desktop & add them all to the page. i’m thinking 50% Winter, 50% Spring. Northern believes herself to be 100% Winter. only Kryos and Avalon know they’re only half-bloods. ]
“What’s more important to you?” She stressed, resisting the urge to sigh in frustration. She pitied her friend’s plight; she’d never experienced such pressure from any family or friend, not in such a degree. She knew what freedom felt like, what it tasted like. She’d never let it go. “Appeasing a group of cats that don’t care about you or how you feel or re-inserting yourself in the lives of those who will love you for who you are and who you’re meant to be?”
Avalonmist stretched. “Children are everything. If you’re lucky enough to have some of your own, you should hold onto that for as long as you can. Be there for them for as long as you can. Each day, time trickles away a little bit more, the door closes a little bit more.” She glanced at him. “How much are you willing to lose by playing by the rules?”
Pineflurry flinched back at her words, did NIghtfreeze love him? She'd always glared at him and he really couldn't blame her either. He'd public disowned her in front of his family and clan when she was but a kit. He didn't deserve the forgiveness, but....but maybe he wanted to try? Avalonmist ahs faith him, so hopefully that counts for something. And what were the rules now? The ones he'd grown up on, been trained to follow were void to him now. "I..I don't know the rules and I-I doubt Nightfreeze would even want to talk to me." He felt like a kit again, trying to relearn the world. "How do you do it? How do you just...." live? That's what he wanted to ask. How do you live because what he's known his whole life doesn't work anymore.
