Magnoliablush shuffled her paws nervously, glancing shyly up at Paintedcanyon as they walked away from the mate choosing ceremony. It was tradition that the new couples spent the night out in the territory to bond with one another. However, she couldn't help but feel like she had cheated. She had been so frazzled by her mother's sudden appearance that it hardly registered that she had in deed touched noses with Paintedcanyon "I'm glad it was you" she murmured softly, hoping he felt the same way Nova

He could definitely say that the Romance Festival had not been what he was expecting. He definitely didn't expect to come out of it with a mate, nor did he expect the circumstances surrounding it. Even Magnoliablush had seemed frazzled by it. Yet the mixed paint that was still on his nose proved that the pair had chosen each other. He could definitely say that he didn't regret it. Paintedcanyon thought that the she-cat was sweet and endearing. He just hoped that she didn't find him to be too awkward and stiff. The dark ginger tom looked over at her and smiled softly.
"I just hope that I'll be able to make you happy." Paintedcanyon said. "I did mean what I said though. About starting fresh and still making this special. N-Not that it i-isn't...!" The tom said quickly as he began to stumble over his words. "I mean it is its just that... well I know it didn't go how you planned and I know that you were upset about and..uh... mousedung I've messed that up..."

Magnoliablush felt her cheeks heat up, but it wasn't because she was angry. It just that when he got all flustered like that he looked really cute. She put her paw gently onto his head, and ruffled the long fur there with a smile "I'm always happy when I am with you...." she looked down a bit embaressed
"I am the one that messed up, not you" she had the whole thing planned out inside her head, but her mother had messed it all up "After all that I didn't think you would be interested anymore. So thank you for this second chance" she pressed her nose to his cheek shly, almost as if they were just two apprentices who were sneaking in a subtle touch trying not to get caught

Paintedcanyon ducked his head a bit as she ruffled his fur. He couldn't help but chuckle a bit as he smiled up at her. "It's no one's fault, Magnoliablush. Sunclan has been in disarray since everything happened. Between losing the Sun God, the attacks and invasions... moving camps, all of it. Everyone's stressed and hurt." The long furred tom said gently but left it at that. The last thing he wanted to do was bring up bad memories. Instead, he shook his head and offered her a crooked smirk.
"Besides, if you think about it we just hurtled over our first obstacle together." He said, hoping to change the subject. "Doesn't the Sun God plan everything out? Lay out our paths and things like this? Maybe this was a test of his for us. I'd like to think we passed"
