The Romance Festival had come to a close and tomorrow Bloodystar was cooking up something that perhaps only Perfectstorm knew was coming: the group marriage ceremonies. Perfectstorm wasn't terribly worried about it. After all, Blindfaith was hand-picked for him by the Sun God, so he had nothing to fear, they were meant to be.
Still, his conscience couldn't rest easy for some reason, so he decided to seek out his brother for advise. It hadn't been all that long ago since Lionpride had been in Perfectstorm's shoes and they could use some bonding time. He couldn't remember the last time they'd had a conversation with one another except in passing.
"Lionpride, want to go on a short patrol with me? I uh... I just need to clear my head some."

"I would love to, but..."
his voice trailed off as he looked back to the nest he shared with Pollendrone in the nursery. It was unusual, but with so many kits to care for it took both of their attentions to be able to keep up with them. Besides he always wanted to be a very involved father and he was finally getting his wish. "I have all the kits right now, and Pollendrone isn't back yet. She wanted to go an stretch her legs, I'm getting a little bit worried" his mate had been missing for a while now, but he had been trying to convince himself that she was just taking some time for herself.
With a sigh he shook his head "Let me see if one of the other queens will watch over them for a little while" he disappered into the nursery only to reappear a little bit later
"ok let's go. Perhaps we will catch a glimpse of her while we are out. It would help to ease my mind..."
"I was on guard duty when she left earlier. She was heading west, toward NightClan, so we can go that way. We're bound to cross paths," Perfectstorm was actually more comfortable around Pollendrone that Lionpride, so he was looking forward to adding her to the party. He could have the conversation he wanted with his brother and, when in inevitably got awkward, she'd show up and smooth things out.

Perfectstorm very nearly bumped his head against the ceiling of the tunnel's exit. He'd recently had a growth spurt and, while Lionpride remained larger than him, the gap was getting narrower and narrower. It wasn't exactly a point of pride for him. He was now nearly a head above Bloodystar and it just felt... wrong. So, he slouched and did his best to keep as small a presence as he could when around the general population, but he felt no such pressure when with his brother.
"So..." Where to start? It was hard to say, really, now that they were alone thing were already getting really awkward, "... I... Well, I touched noses with Blindfaith yesterday."
Lionpride led the way through the tunnels, chuckling when his younger brother nearly his his head on the tunnel. He couldn't ever count the number of times that he had nearly hit his own head on the tunnel entrance when he was a hurry or the number of times that he had and ended up with a lump on his head that required medical attention "You have grown a lot over the past moon" he commented, a little teasingly though he had no ill intent behind it. He wasn't exactly sure what to do with Perfectstorm. He was his brother, but also not really. Perfectstorm had grown up as Bloodystar's son...
He found it a bit odd that the younger cat wanted to go on a patrol with him, but his questions were answered with what he said next. He considered his words carefully "and is that what you both wanted?" there was no judgment in his voice, only curiosity
"Bloodystar told me it was the Sun God's will, so yeah, of course it's what we both would have wanted," Perfectstorm laughed nervously, "We haven't talked since it happened, so I'm not sure if she even knows that, though. But she's a very nice she-cat. I'm sure we'll be very happy once we get to know each other better."
Perfectstorm, despite having so many siblings, grew up as one of Bloodystar's favorites and sort of had only child syndrome. A little awkward in his mannerisms and phrasing, but very genuine and knowledgable. A great friend, although you couldn't really trust him, for he always went straight to Bloodystar if he heard whisperings against the High Priest. So most never let him too close... most, that is, until Blindfaith. It may not have been her choice but she accepted it right away, and her influence already led the young tom to try and reach out to others, hence this evening stroll with his almost estranged brother.

"Thats not what I asked" he replied, a little disappointed in just how much his brother sounded like Bloodystar. "I know what the Sun God said, but how do YOU feel about it" he blinked giving time for the other cat to take in his words "Just because it is the sun god's will doesn't mean that you feel the same way in your heart" at least he didn't seem bothered by his choice in mate, but if he was truely as confident as he pretended to be, they wouldn't be having this conversation
Perfectstorm was caught off guard by Lionpride's sudden fire, but he also sort of expected it. He wasn't sure exactly what he'd said wrong but this was usually the kind of interactions he had when he tried to talk to his older siblings. Almost immediately he began to close himself, his movements a little more constrained, his tail slightly lowered.
"What I want and what the Sun God want are the same thing," He said, his honey brown eyes looking anywhere but at his brother, "I may not understand yet, but I will with time, for a God's guidance sees far beyond my own. You're the perfect example of that. I may have been just a kit, but I still remember when I visited you in the prisons with Polledrone. You two are so happy now. It's hard to believe how much you fought to be apart back then."
Perfectstorm's tone had softened somewhat, he felt like he had made a compelling argument so he was a little less defensive now, "There was a time that I doubted the Sun God, too. But your struggles taught me that there's no use fighting against the destiny he has laid out for you. Defying him breeds hardships, but trusting him leads to true happiness.""

Lionpride sighed, his brother was clearly not able to think for himself even for a moment. However tearing down this blind faith in the Sun God wasn't easy, and it was going to take time. For now all he could do was plant the seeds of doubt "I love Pollendrone, that much is true... but what happened to the two of us is more an exception than a rule. For every story that has a happy ending, there are more that do not. Take Brilliantbeacon... she would have never been happy with a tom" anyone that knew her, it was clear to see
"The Sun God may have plans for all of us, but it doesn't change how you feel in you heart. You can deny it, but I know there has been times when you have doubted him"
"Bloodystar and I have talked for great lengths about your concerns, because they were the same kinds I had once," Wow, this talk really wasn't going to direction that he wanted it to, that was for sure. But Perfectstorm had sort of expected this. Lionpride was famous for being the leader of Bloodystar's opposition at one point in time. While the High Priest had believed that Lionpride had been won over to his side, Perfectstorm had never been quite so sure, and today proved it, "Brilliantbeacon is only unhappy because she is still challenging the path the Sun God set out for her, same as you were at one time. Perhaps she would never be happy with a tom, but, had she gone with him I have no doubts that the Sun God wouldn't have guided her to the happiness she deserves. The journey is just not as obvious."

"You are wrong..." he replied his golden eyes shining
Lionpride paused, trying to reign himself in from going off on Perfectstorm, reminding himself that it wasn't his brothers fault. Not truly. Bloodystar had brain washed him. "If it was truly the Sun Gods will then perhaps you would be correct, but it's not. This was simply a ruse by Bloodystar" he didn't fear Bloodystar knowing that he was as docile as he thought, but he had taken a step back to recover and and rest after the fire. He had also recently found out that their mother was alive and coming for them, embolden him further.
Perfectstorm came to a sudden halt. He had done his best to tolerate Lionpride's heretical ramblings, but he could only take so much before he, like Bloodystar, had had enough.
"Speaking ill of our chosen High Priest will only bring your misfortune, brother. I will pray that Sun God shows you mercy for what you have just said. Our God does great good but is capable of anything to prove his point," His voice was cold and controlled, similar but different from Bloodystar. He was brainwashed, yes, but he still had his wits about him and able to see flaws that his adoptive father could not, "I-I will pretend that I didn't hear what you said for the sake of your kits... but I will not be so generous next time. Let's talk about something else."

"and what is it that you wish to talk about?" he mused, allowing his younger brother to take the lead. He wasn't afraid of Perfectstorm, but starting a fight now wouldn't help their relationship any. Lionpride stretched out his long legs, picking up the pace some and expected Perfectstorm to keep up. "Surely you have more on your mind than just girls"
"How about the weather," Perfectstorm replied back with just a touch of sarcasm. He was starting to feel like Lionpride was making fun of him, but he couldn't pin down exactly what for. His devotion? His perceived naiveite? Lionpride was certainly more experienced that Perfectstorm, but the younger brother had a sense of superiority about himself that had been taught to him by Bloodystar. It made just who had seniority between the two of them unclear, which made the young and hot-blood Perfectstorm that much more on edge, "It's... still hot and dry."
