"But Firetooth..." Jetfire puffed out her cheeks in protest, pouting at the turn of events. The queen had been recovering quickly now that her newest litter had been born. She had almost died that day, but it was hard to tell it now. Her pelt that had been dull for so long was becoming shinier, her bones showing less and less through her thin skin, but the biggest difference was her sheer amount of energy and more positive outlook. Without the pregnancy hormones and herbs constantly in her system, she was feeling better than she had in such a long time. Her mother and father had given her their blessing to stay in swiftclan, but had to return to DayClan. They were working on ways to get the rest of her family out of SunClan and to safety.
Her newborn had just opened their eyes, and it was time for them to go out and see their camp for their first time, but Firetooth was insisting that she rest instead "This is a special moment, and I want to be there with them" she looked rather disappointed. She continued to push herself to her limits, eager to get back all the time she had lost and spend it with her family, but she didn't know her own limits. She would go and go, only stopping when sheer exhaustion nearly caused her to collapse. GidgetGal
Firetooth let out a sigh of exasperation at Jetfire's stubbornness. She was getting healthier by the day, and seeing her and her kits' bright smiles every morning when he visited the nursery made his entire day worth it. He could even say that she was becoming even more beautiful than before, if that were even possible. With all that in mind, it made it incredibly difficult to say no to her. But he was still a Medicine Cat first and a mate second. Even if she felt healthier and looked gorgeous, there was still quite a long way to go in her recovery. With the severity of the injuries the Queen had suffered over the past several moons, it would take seasons for her to come even close to the warrior she once was in a physical sense.
Luckily, or perhaps unluckily for Firetooth, it was much quicker for her to come back into her old personality. Littlestar hadn't been lying when she referred to her daughter a 'a little spitfire'. Batting up doe-eyes at him, the Medicine Cat quickly flushed and sheepishly turned his head away. "Jetfire...you can watch them well enough from the den's entrance. I know you; as soon as your kits ask you to play mossball or run around with them, you'll push yourself 'til you drop, just like Sparrowpaw." At least he knew now where the apprentice had gotten it from.

"Then come with me" she mused, leaning over to touch her nose to his cheek and her tail ran along his spine as she got her her paws any way "How much trouble can I get into with my handsome mate at my side?" she had a lopsided smile on her face, not taking no for an answer this time as she began padding towards the exit. It was either try and stop her, or come along for the journey "I missed to many special moments with my first litter, and I'm not missing this one. Even for you"
The silver tabby let her tail slide along his side until it tickled his nose "come on, our kits are waiting and we have an important question to ask of Ghostcrown" Jetfire nosed her kits awake from where they were sleeping near the entrance, watching as they opened their eyes sleepily "It's time to let you explore the rest of camp" she whispered softly to them, trying to contain her own excitement before Firetooth could stop her JadieGidgetGal@stardance
Mountainkit was, to no one's surprise, already wide awake; the energetic ginger kit struggling to break free from his siblings' cuddle pile and go play already. He only paused momentarily when his mother padded over to them, staring up at her with big blue eyes that only seemed to grow wider when Jetfire announced that they were actually gonna go explore outside today! "You really mean it?!" He squeaked in glee, finally managing to pull himself free from his sleepy littermates, stumbling and rolling to a stop at the Queen's front paws. The little mishap didn't seem to stop him in the least, as he immediate righted himself up again and began pacing back and forth in front of the den entrance. "Come on, come on! Hurry up you guys, I wanna go outside!"
"Ugh...ancestors help me," Firetooth groaned, accepting the fact that he couldn't stop the Queen if he tried. Padding up to her side once again, a small smile crossed his muzzle as he watched how excited the kits were to be leaving the den for the first time. It brought up fond memories of how he and Pondkit used to constantly try to sneak out of Earthclan's nursery together, and how Raypaw and Creekghost used to catch them every time. Seeing Jetfire's smug smile, he sighed and gave in. "Fine, but I'm staying right by your side the entire time."

“I’d expect nothing less” she purred, knowing that she had won this time. Her tail tapped his shoulder lightly, as she nodded to their kits “Yes I mean it. Your father and I are going to take you on a little tour, and then let you play in the clearing for a little while”
Sunkit sat up, blinking the sleepiness from his gaze before tumbling out of the nest after his brother in a more graceful manner. The long legged tom waved his tail high in the air, the longer whisky furs catching the soft sunlight that filtered into the nursery “I have been waiting on this for so long!” He chirped have heard from their older siblings who were just promoted to apprentices
Jetkit yawned then curled into a tighter ball at his mother's side. He wasn't particularly a heavy sleeper, but he was certainly not a morning person. It didn't help that the ginger-furred tom had always lived by his own agenda and no one else's, meaning her was naturally opposed to any command given to him, especially one that required him to stop resting when he was oh-so-comfortable, "Five more minutes, mama."
