Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The three mentors are in charge of pushing their apprentices out of their comfort zone, which could involve the three creating trust tests and exercises to get them through it. Unfortunately all three mentors are a part of the Eerie family and can get a bit extreme despite being well meaning.)
Disloyaldog poked at his apprentice like he were some limp dead creature worth figuring out to satisfy his curiosity, "Sooo, what's so weird about you that Glowstar gave you to me? Do you like vomit acid or maybe while you walked away from a crowd you tripped, accidentally shoved someone off a cliff. Another cat came, saw the dead body and said, "YOU KILLED HIM!" loudly and then also slips off the cliff from the rain water. And then everyone heard that cat say you killed that guy at the bottom and now that guys dead and it's all just one huge misunderstanding. But then who's going to believe that? So now you're labeled a murderer kind of a thing?"
Despite being as old as he was this was his first apprentice so he was more than pleased that his sister, Wanderingwright and daughter, Yuccablossom were going to take their apprentices out together to train.
"Or maybe Glowstar just really hates these kids. I'd be surprised if she expects them to survive the day in our company." Wanderingwight lounged a few paces away, curled up as though she'd decided to take a nap right where she lay. The she-cat was known to fight against abusing children, however, if anyone actually looked at her mentoring track record, that in itself was highly traumatic. She hadn't killed anyone yet, though she suspected Desiree would have preferred death to Sen's 'training' methods.
"You two are too hard or yourselves!" Yuccablossom said with a big smile on her face. Like her father, this was her first apprentice, but she was just ecstatic to spend more time with Disloyaldog and Wanderingwight as she was to actually train Smokepaw, "If I were an apprentice, I'd be so excited to have such strong, admiral cats as my mentors. I'm sure Mothpaw and Tangledpaw agree... right? Mothpaw? Tangledpaw?"
She glanced back at the group of little apprentices and of course her heart melted right away. So young and full of potential, there was literally nothing stopping any of them from becoming anything that they wanted someday, "Oh, Smokepaw! I didn't mean to exclude you! You think Disloyaldog and Wanderingwight are great cats too, don't you?"

"Y- yeah! I'm uh, really excited," Mothpaw quickly stammered, nodding so much he looked like a bobblehead. It was obvious to anyone though, that he was more nervous than anything. Maybe he might have been excited before Wanderingwight implied their impending doom--which was just awesome since she was his mentor--but now it was far too late to console him of his fears. At least he had Tangledpaw and Smokepaw with him. They didn't worry him like the others. Well, unless Tangledpaw could vomit acid or was a murderer, but he was pretty sure that wasn't the case. Still, he kept one eye on the other apprentice just to be sure.
Tangledpaw just nodded, too afraid to stutter and disappoint Disloyaldog. The black tom was super scary and since he was the son of Glowstar he probably could get Tangledpaw kicked out of the clan if he got upset. The fluffy Bengal was pretty sure he was already on thin ice, not for any special reason other than clearly something always had to go wrong. So he looked between the three mentors, all of them powerful, skilled cats with less than stellar social skills.
(I think Cookie's taking a break on Classic? So in the mean time we can have Gardeniapaw jump in since she's apparently decided that she owns DayClan and can Yucca help mentor. Maybe Gardenia can bond a bit with Mothpaw like previously plotted!)
"Hey, speak for yourself, just because your apprentice is a wimp, doesn't mean that Tangledpaw over here is some weirdo. In fact, my apprentice is better than yours in every way that counts," Disloyaldog bragged. After all, despite being as old as he was and in many clans as he had this was his first apprentice. As his first he had a lot of high expectations, maybe some cliff jumping, junkyard dog fights, raiding clans to steal their rocks and then selling them for high prices on the black market. Really, in Disloyaldog's head, the fun would just never end now that he had an apprentice!
"Our apprentices do need to toughen up and apparently have a hard time though so maybe we should do something to encourage them?" Disloyaldog suggested or more asked.
"Hey, we got one more," Glowstar announced, leading an apprentice made up of cinder and ashen white fur. The apprentices body was dusted in dark stormy greys while her chest and neck was wrapped like a scarf in arctic wolf white. Her face returned to a dark cinder shade, but her angelic blue gaze looked outright celestial. They were a kind of blue shade that couldn't be compared to anything in nature, as rare and mesmerizing to stare at as an unearthed gemstone. "This is Gardeniapaw, Wintrystar's daughter, she's inspecting DayClan for a while, but will need some mentoring, Yuccablossom, I was hoping you could help her understand our culture."
Gardeniapaw held herself with an aura of power, her chin tilted high like she were keeping an invisible crown from falling, "Greetings Yucca," Gardeniapaw said to Yuccablossom, holding out her paw to the she-cat for her to kiss it, but she hardly spared a glass at the other two apprentices.

Mothpaw still wasn't sure if he could trust Tangledpaw, but before he could shrug off his thin suspicions, he whipped his head around to face Disloyaldog. His mouth opened to argue just how awesome he was and how he wasn't a weirdo, but he resorted to annoyed muttering as Glowstar approached them. Even those died down as he glanced at the two newcomers, one catching his eye more than the other. Gardeniapaw was absolutely stunning, not to mention a literal princess. It took all of his willpower not to launch himself at her offered paw and kiss it himself, and he turned away so as to not tempt himself any further. Tangledpaw was still next to him though and now he was staring right at the other apprentice with a dazed look in eyes. Shaking himself out of it, Mothpaw shot a glare at him because it was too hard to glare at Disloyaldog. "I am not a weirdo," he whispered.
"My liege!" Yuccablossom purred, bowing her head to Gardeniapaw and stretching her paw slightly outward. She thought it looked pretty knight-like and official, which was the game she was still playing with the little WinterClan princess whether she liked it or not, "I'm not sure how you did it, but you're even more beautiful than last time I laid eyes on you, Gardeniastar."
Glancing up now, she noticed that Gardeniapaw's paw was outstretched sort of like what Yuccablossom herself had done. She cocked her head slightly. It was pretty clear that the WinterClan she-cat wanted Yuccablossom to do something, but she wasn't sure exactly what. So, she took the paw she had already extended and rested it against Gardeniapaw's, "Oh, are we making a secret handshake or something!? I've always wanted one of those! You start!" Faith
"For you to fathom my beauty would no doubt fry a quaint mind such as yourself," Gardeniapaw said to Yuccablossom matter of factly. That was what her sister would say after all, but it also wasn't what she would have said. "But also thank-you, I find you're um modest appearance to be quite charming," She said with a polite smile that slowly faded the more Yuccablossom attempted to guess a hand shake, "You disappoint me tremendously sometimes Yucca. No this is my paw for you to kiss. I'm royalty, this is a huge gesture from me, to you, my knight. I mean you should be groveling at my paws in gratitude, but a simple thanks will do I suppose."
That was when she noticed Mothpaw off to the side. Ebony black fur poured over by clouds of misty white shades across his body. He looked-
"Who's the weirdo?" Gardeniapaw asked, pointing to Mothpaw.
"HA! Told you! Mom gave you a weird apprentice, mine isn't weird, it's yours," Disloyaldog laughed.
"Oh, I see, I see. Thank you for the lesson," Yuccablossom nodded even though she totally got the wrong idea. She translated Gardeniapaw's lecture about groveling and kissing her paw as code for the secret handshake that was in fact so secret that she couldn't even talk about it expect in this weird coded message. Amazing! Her sunny hazel eyes turned back to Gardenipaw's, waiting for some kind of sign, and in moments she had it.
When Gardenipaw pointed at Mothpaw, Yuccablossom dropped to the ground - 'grovel' - rolled onto her back and kissed Gardenipaw's cute little toe beans, "If thif good enuf, Princess?"
Senescence let out a quiet huff of air, turning her gaze to her granddaughter as she arrived. "Well, at least we have apparent royalty to make up for my lackluster apprentice." The League Proxy mused, her whiskers twitching in what might have been slight amusement, something both Yuccablossom and Disloyaldog rarely had the opportunity to see.
"Are we going to execute me again? I was thinking something a little more dramatic than my impending death." For being Mothpaw's mentor... Wanderingwight sure seemed to ignore him, and only after speaking with Gardenia'star'. "Maybe if you survive, Mothpaw, we can upgrade you from weirdo, to simply 'strange', hmm?"

Mothpaw's tail puffed out as he shot an affronted look Gardeniapaw's way. Did she really think that about him too? His heart suddenly fell into the pit of his stomach as he felt the blossoming hope of love fizzle out of existence. Of course, a she-cat like her would see him as odd. What was he even thinking? His whole body hunched over in defeat as he imagined his own personal storm cloud floating over him. He didn't even have the desire to defend himself anymore when Wanderingwight spoke. He only gave a slow nod and curled into himself even more. Deep down though, he still felt like he was the only normal cat here, but there was no point arguing with crazies.

Not a moment later, Mothpaw would find his head lifted up firmly by Sen's paw, the she-cat staring him in the eyes. "Keep the head up. Bound to run head first into something you don't wanna deal with is you stare at the ground like that. Since you're with a bunch of Eeries, start acting like one. Might get you killed, might make death thing twice next time if you do live. Consider this a warning, next time I see your head down, I'm gonna throw you off the tallest thing in the area, and you'll get to watch yourself fall all the way down, since you like staring at the ground so much." Mothpaw was the exact opposite of Desiree. Sen had pretty much broken the League she-cat by tearing down her unnatural levels of confidence. Mothpaw needed to be lifted up, not that Sen would treat him any less harshly for it. She would absolutely do exactly what she said if she caught himself curling in on himself again, no matter the time or place.
"Yes Yucca, I suppose that will have to do because unfortunately that is you at your best," Gardeniapaw said regretfully, but motioned for her new mentor to rise. "Oh he's your apprentice," She said with more understanding, like that explained why they were associating themselves with him. But as soon as she said she went right back to Wanderingwight, like he wasn't even there, "And what can possibly be more dramatic than your impending death? Your death would mark the era of Gardeniastar after all."

Mothpaw's blood turned to ice at the sudden, unwanted contact from his mentor. She was terrifying. So much so that he forgot about the other cats around him. He had little choice in keeping his head up with her doing it for him, but he couldn't look away from her even if he tried. There was no doubt in his mind that she'd make good on her threat. No matter how scared he was though, his anger was nearly equal to it. He had every right to keep his head down when these cats didn't spare him the time of day unless it was to insult him. Maybe if they were nicer, he'd care what they thought instead of ducking his head to avoid their wrath. Apparently, there was no avoiding it unless he acted like them and what were they really? Scary? Ruthless? Bullies?
"I'll never act like you," he said, forcing himself to look at her nose instead of her eyes. He was shaking; now with more fear than anything else because he didn't mean to say that out loud. Well, maybe he did, but what did it matter. This was their first real training session and she was going to kill him. Might as well go out looking somewhat cool.

"You're talking back, so you already are." Sen countered, her head nodding almost imperceptibly as if approving. But then the moment passed, and she turned to talk to others again. "If your rule is at it's peak with my death, that's a pretty boring reign isn't it." She glanced at Luc. "Also, maybe before you insult my apprentice again, you make sure yours is actually breathing first. He hasn't said a thing."
Yuccablossom got herself back on all fours and padded over to Sen. The chain and slate necklace she had been gifted from her aunt was all twisted up in her fur after the tussling on the ground, so she was fidgeting with it as she walked, a weird, delicate balancing act that she somehow pulled off effortlessly, "Oh, don't be so hard on him, Wanderingwight. This is DayClan, not the League. We teach with love and patience here. Besides..." She leaned forward to whisper into Sen's ear but spoke well and loud enough for everyone to hear, "Mothpaw is the highest social class here, which means if he wants to make us do something, we gotta listen. So be nice!"
"My apprentice is inhaling harder than a tornado unlike yours whose looks like a deflated pufferfish. After all, everyone knows the strongest apprentice is ranked based on their ability to breathe. It's how our kids got hired on Immortal Council, their ability to breathe," Disloyaldog snickered.
Gardeniapaw was inspecting her claws when she heard Wanderingwight's claim. Letting out a scoff she responded, "I would not be bored without you. My life has been eventful even before I met you," She assured her, but her ears flicked in Yuccablossom's direction. Luckily she hadn't ignored her too much as she caught onto the mention of power. So Mothpaw was... Powerful? Important?
"You can tell others around?" Gardeniapaw ventured as she moved closer to Mothpaw, "How did you obtain such high standing? Are your parents important?"
"Even Glowstar learned with blood and death, she wouldn't still be leading DayClan all this time later if she'd been raised in peace." Senescence answered her niece bluntly, casually watching as the she-cat untwisted the necklace. "Besides, maybe it's my turn to end up Forsaken, Luc beat me to it, but that doesn't mean he gets all the fun alone."
Wanderingwight snorted at her brother's claim. Technically, he was right. Their ability to not stop breathing was quite the achievement. "I'm barely feeling a breeze from him, much less a tornado. If that's what you considering an ability to breathe, I think the lack of air getting to your head explains a lot about you." She mused teasingly, though if one wasn't used to her deadpan humor, they could easily assume it was an insult, and to be fair, she could always mean it either way.

Relief flooded Mothpaw when finally Wanderwight left him alone, but at least he'd gotten over some of his initial fear. Now his mood was just plain sour as he watched the warriors insult one another. How was it the apprentices were more mature? Although, he did have to fight down a laugh when they started making fun of Tangledpaw's breathing which was kinda impressive. He was back to side-eyeing the other apprentice when Gardeniapaw walked over and thankfully, he managed not to jump at her sudden presence.
"High standing?" he parroted back dumbly, not catching on as fast as he should have. Maybe mentioning his parents slowed him down a bit. He didn't really get a chance to know them or anything, so he couldn't say for sure what their standing was. Eventually, though, it dawned on him and he abruptly cleared his throat. "I mean, yeah. I guess for now I can? We all get temporary classes when we're in training so it might change when I'm older, but to tell ya the truth..." He leaned in and covered the side of his mouth with one paw. "I'll probably always be able to boss these guys around. They're ranked wayyyyy low." Well, unless you considered Yuccablossom being on the immortal council but technicalities meant nothing when trying to impress a princess.
