Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Melonkit had only been alive for one short moon, but he already knew one thing for sure--you could get away with almost anything when you were young and cute.
His dad Peachblush had said something about needing to go back to DayClan to vote in some...weird election thing--whatever that meant--and told him and his siblings to be good while I'm gone, okay? What a mistake that had been on the older tom's behalf. Melonkit felt his lips curl upward as he put the final touches on his prank, a bird nest covered in wet moss and dirt balanced precariously on the small ridge above the entrance to the SwiftClan nursery. When he nudged the stick propped up against it with his paw, it would fall on whoever was walking by underneath.
...In theory, anyway. But Melonkit was pretty sure it was gonna work, and when it did? It would be awesome.
@ian ѕнαdow✩ in case you guys wanna rp melon's siblings o3o
Kiwikit prided herself on being the brains of her siblings. She liked to think her job was to keep her siblings from getting into trouble — well, as best she could, anyway. Their father might not have officially given her the title, but she doubted he’d object. Who else was going to keep her littermates, especially Melonkit, from doing something irreversibly mousebrained?
Speaking of which, she wasn’t entirely sure where he was right now. It wasn’t her fault! Well, not completely. She didn’t quite have eyes in the back of her head like some of the queens did. She was still cultivating that particular skill. Padding out of the nursery, she gazed around with narrowed eyes, hoping her senses were sharp enough to-
Whump.
Kiwikit slowly opened her eyes through the wet moss dripping down her face and the smell of mud and decaying plantlife in her nose. Gritting her teeth, she slowly looked upward.
"Kiwi." Melonkit's grin almost seemed to stretch out to the entire width of his face. "What? C'mon, that was objectively impressive. Dad would be proud, not angry." He paused briefly, seeing dirty water dripping off his dear sister's face. Man, he'd really screwed up her day. "Hmm. Maybe I should've...prepared a bath for you or something, I dunno. I mean, you'll be fine, right? Just wash off in a puddle or something."
Green eyes narrowed to slits. “Dear brother, it appears you’re overdue on a gift. Why don’t you come down here so I can give it to you?” He knew what he was doing when he set up that nest of horrifying madness atop the nursery, she knew he knew, and he knew she knew he knew. Despite the utter chaos her brother could inflict upon the world, nothing Melonkit ever did was unplanned, even his ‘wing it’ ideas had some semblance of a line graph, point A to point D. Part of her should’ve been glad his experiment had been tested on her instead of an unsuspecting queen, but the part of her that won out was ready to dish out some just desserts.
"I probably would uh... not come down here," meowed the scraggly young she-cat. She then glanced over to her sister, "not that I blame you or anything for bein' mad." Applekit wasn't doing a great job at hiding the fact that she was deeply amused by her brother's tomfoolery, if only because she hadn't been the victim. Maybe she wouldn't feel the same way if she had a giant wad of soggy greenery dumped on her head, but hey, that wasn't her problem. She glanced back up at Melonkit, her whiskers twitching. Good work, she mouthed, just as soon as she could guarantee Kiwikit wouldn't have seen her.
