Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Logically, Southspectre knew that it wasn't considered proper etiquette for a Silent Brother of MoonClan to be poking around outside of his 'jurisdiction', but Southspectre had never been one to pay attention, or even care about social convention. The tom was picking through a dead end of a tunnel someone had once called home, looking for anything he could take back to his own living quarters and study. He was closer than ever before to where the 'regular' MoonClanners resided, the ones who hadn't taken a vow of silence like he had.
And this tom had definitely not taken a vow a silence, and would never take one in his life. Ravenpaw finished his training just a little bit earlier, and used that time to just go off and do his own thing. When he came across the Silent Brother's scent, he was surprised to say the least. He smelled so different despite being part of MoonClan. He almost smelled like death... it made sense now that he thought about it. He strolled into the tunnel and saw the tom digging away. "Hey... are you one of the dead-loving guys?"
Southspectre almost jumped out of his fur at the sound of the younger tom's voice--it was something he probably should've expected to hear, considering how close he was to where the rest of the cats resided, but he'd spent long enough in the Silent City that it had been a while since he'd heard a real voice.
He straightened his shoulders and regained his composure, though he still didn't make eye contact with Ravenpaw. We're a little more than that, you know, he signalled to the tom, not quite used to his new abilities. Most cats determine it wise to give us slightly more respect than that, lest we...lose their remains in the future.
"WHAT THE HELL!" The tom jumped at hear the voice in his head, and nearly hit the top of the small cave when he jumped back. His fur bristled as he stared at the tom in complete bewilderment. "Did... did you just..." He shivered and his fur started to lay flatter as he started to collect himself a little bit. "Holy Selene in all her grace..." His panting subsided. "Just... uhh..."
Southspectre frowned. Oh, do cats on the outside not know about this ability of the Silent Brothers? he "said", concealing a small smile. That is unfortunate. I will relay this information to my brothers in the Silent City, so that they do not inadvertently give any members of MoonClan a heart attack. Unless you would like that..
"Well, maybe I did at one point, but... do you have any idea how scary it is to have a voice in your head? It is weird, and I really don't like it." He couldn't help the smirk that crept onto his face. "Yeah... that would be fun. Maybe you could come the Academy for a bit and prank everyone there. I don't it's a big building, you could find some creative places to hide."
I can see how it would be disconcerting, Southspectre replied. He'd eventually gotten used to it, but that had required being totally isolated from the outside world. The idea does sound enticing, though. Tell me, what's the Academy like? I was never able to attend myself, but I've heard stories... Not that he was...jealous, or anything.
"Eh, I mean it's much better than living in the main camp. No parents, obviously. But it's so rigid and the cats in there get really annoying really fast. Like there's this fool Nocturnepaw. Like he's going to SunClan or whatever for training because of some dumb rule, but if you ask me, it's a cover up for something else." He sighed and shook his head. "But I'm the only one who seems to think it's suspicious..."
