Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Glowstar looked back in the dark tunnels. The tunnels ahead were newer, she didn't know her way through them which meant they were getting closer to Renegades new territory. She wanted to go to the surface, but it was cold and the kits hadn't even opened their eyes yet. Not to mention if SunClan was following them they would be above, it was too dangerous for far too many reasons. Somewhere behind her was Burningstar carrying some kits, but for now she held two kits in her jaw and had two carefully balanced on her back. It was such a struggle she found herself literally setting the two in her jaw down and realigning the kits on her back. It had been a long journey, but at least she didn't have to kidnap all seven by herself. Or more rescue if anything.
She padded along, trying to make her pawsteps heavy and breathing harder in an effort to lure some Renegade cats interest. She was tired and hoping to find a raiser more than anything else.
It didn't take long for someone to take notice of the intruders in the tunnel. Everyone had been wary since BrookClan's attack on their tunnels and so guards were normally set near the entrances. Today however, there had been no guard. Commander Mars had been about to go out for a bit with Jasmine as she had wanted to take a walk on the surface and he disliked sending his daughter out on her own. The scent of DayClan had hit him almost instantly though and he had stopped. He had sent Jasmine back to alert the others so that his mercenaries could meet him here. Hopefully he would be able to stall them until then.
Glowstar pressed forward and at first didn't even make out Commander Mars until she came closer. She placed the two kits down and felt almost like lying down. On any normal day she wouldn't even flinch at the exhaustion she felt because she kept up with her league training despite having moved to DayClan. But SunClan and being a mom had forced her to stay in camp. Her legs did feel weak, speed was definitely where she struggled in, but her endurance kept her up, "I'm Glowstar of DayClan and SunClan has attempted to steal our kits. When a SunClan cat is destined to become warrior they are put through a trial where they can die if they fail. These kits aren't loyal to SunClan, please. Let them stay with you."
She used all the breath in her to speak, but kept her eyes trained on Commander Mars, not moving from where she stood. She knew well enough that not every group was evil and even if Renegade didn't follow a code they were honorable cats who could always use more kits in their rank. The kits would be safer and grow up to be better cats than they would if they had stayed in SunClan.
Honestly, this was not what he had been expecting and part of him still felt like it might be a trap. Perhaps he was being paranoid after the incident with BrookClan, but no sane leader would bring tykes to a battle so perhaps she was being truthful. "You were brave to enter the tunnels of your own accord. He looked down at they tykes after this. His spies had told him that SunClan and BrookClan seemed to be stirring up trouble. The Regime could use these tykes. There had been very few kits this season and the strange sickness those strange loners had brought with them had killed quite a few. "We will take these tykes, but tell me this. I have heard whispers of an alliance between SunClan and BrookClan, is this true?"
Glowstar looked at the kits wondering for a moment if this was a good idea. But Renegade Regime was different now, they didn't lock up outsiders or half clan kits in dungeons. Her head felt a bit heavy as she replied, "Yeah, they've teamed up. These were all the kits I could manage to carry here. Burningstar will be here soon with the rest."
She looked back, but Burningstar had been behind, she turned back to Commander Mars, "Can I rest here? If you let me I'll hunt for you, or show you a new trick."
It was the life she knew. One where no one was kind and she had to bargain and trade or even give up things to get anything she wanted. There was no humanity in her world and being held by her sister and betrayed by her friend had only proven that more. Currently SunClan had no idea that she was the one who had stolen the kits and she intended to keep it that way. However she just walked across multiple territories and needed a break. She already gave the kits which seemed like enough, but may also be considered a favor.
Mars watched her for several long moments. He knew this was a situation where he would be expected to remain completely serious, but this really wasn't his strong suit. It never had been honestly. This was not to say that he couldn't be serious when he needed to be. "I see...We were attacked by BrookClan recently. We managed to drive them off, but I know they will most likely be back if they are allied with SunClan." He wasn't sure he liked this idea, but at least now he knew so that he could prepare his soldiers. He frowned when she asked to stay for a bit. He wasn't sure he liked the idea, but perhaps if there was a guard? "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to let you regain your strength for the journey back, but during that time, you will have to be guarded." He was still cautious after BrookClan. He doubted Glowstar was going to try anything, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
Her expression immediately perked up with excitement, "Ohhhh mercenaries! Strongest in the land, the league likes to pretend their the strongest, but mercenaries train their whole lives never wasting time in other affairs. It's alright if we have guards, SunClan treats my whole clan this way anyways. You're lucky y'know, when Spring and us were captured they waited as if expecting more. You were the clan that went missing," A smile played at her lips as she continued, "Good job Commander," She said in a sing song voice.
Her paw gently stroked one of the kits, five of the kits ears were weirdly enough folded and one of them had big ears. Truly only one kit had an actual normal physique.
Burningstar had hung back, she wasn't familiar with the Regime, and thus had to let Glowstar take point. And on occasion the ginger she cat would glance back, half fearing she'd catch sight of someone from the alliance, or maybe even Lindon having gotten bored watching over Bonfirekit and realizing Burningstar had actually intended to hide something from him. But they'd made it to where the Regime ruled. And Burningstar felt a bit claustrophobic in the tunnels but the ginger she cat forced herself to look as calm as possible.
She set down the kits she carried and kept them wrapped in her tail while glancing around. She had to admit she was a bit curious about the only group that had managed to repel the alliance.
"BrookClan wasn't used to fighting in the tunnels. That was their downfall in the end. I'm surprised you both made it this far even. They got lost upon arriving in the tunnels which gave us time to prepare once we were aware of their presence." The entrance to the Regime's tunnel home was a natural maze and so intruders often found themselves lost which led to them being discovered before they made it anywhere near the Renegade Regime. He glanced back when he heard pawsteps behind him. Jasmine had reappeared flanked by Reisi and Basil. Mars frowned when he noticed that Jasmine had come back with the other two. "Jasmine you should have returned to Post Kilo." "I had to show Basil and Reisi where you were." Mars frowned. "No matter. Jasmine, go and get Venus. The two of you can take these tykes to Post Kilo and see that they are settled in." The small she cat that was a much smaller copy of Commander Mars dipped her head. "Yes Commander." She turned to hurry off once more while Reisi and Basil flanked Mars on either side. Basil clearly looked like he was ready for a fight, but one look from Mars was enough to settle the younger tom. "Once the tykes are seen to, we will see to it that the two of you are given space to rest for a short while."
Burningstar chuckled, "Well fortunately Glowstar tends to be full of surprises. And I'd appreciate a place to rest, though I will need to depart quickly. Thank you for housing these kits." She said earnestly. "It's wrong for BrookClan and SunClan to be splitting the kits up from their mothers." She meowed. "Please take good care of them."
"And from their own litters. Some kits are in Brook and some from the same litter in Sun, that's just intentionally cruel," Glowstar agreed and leaned into her friend, "But these kits will always have you and Burningstar to thank that they're together now. I hope they adapt well and don't worry, your tunnel securities good. I was born in the Regime and training to be a Spy so I was forced to be familiar with the older tunnels more than any other rank."
Glowstar watched the kits being carried off, but she didn't find any regret. Renegade raisers would help them figure out what path they wanted to follow and in many ways were family oriented. It was unlikely the kits would grow up feeling like outsiders especially since they were joining as new borns. Oh right, "And um.. These kits were just born hours ago so they need a que- origin stat."
"Of course. Our raisers will take them and we will see to it that one of the origins feed them." The next time Jasmine returned, she was being followed by a black and white she cat with a heart shaped patch on her chest. "Venus, take these tykes to Post Kilo with Jasmine and see to it that an origin is found to feed them." Venus looked like she wanted to ask him more questions, but also noticed their guests and dipped her head. "Of course Commander Mars." The two she cats stepped forward to pick up the tykes while Mars kept his attention on Glowstar and Burningstar. "What SunClan and BrookClan are doing is unacceptable. Should you need it, you will have the support of the Regime." Of course he had his own reasons for offering aid. He'd much rather go against them now with the aid of other clans than to risk facing two or more clans without their aid later on. Perhaps his decision to ignore his spies' reports on the possible alliance between the two clans had been a mistake after all.
Glowstar grinned, wincing slightly at the proposition, "Thank-you Commander Mars, but if you do wish to help, do not be too slow. DayClan and SpringClan members have chosen to try to initiate into SunClan and therefore are building up their army. They're not especially powerful or traitorous cats. But cats who are queens, apprentices, cats that feel afraid and want protection out of fear of what SunClan will do to them if they don't join."
She paused licking one of her paws, opening her mouth ajar, but decided to say nothing more and allow Mars to lead the conversation. She had to wonder what Mars meant, she never used to wonder that. Her name had been Lilith, that was it, it didn't need to have a meaning behind it. But other places like WaterClan had meaning behind their names at birth to the warrior names they were given later in life. Coming back to Renegade Regime not having any meaning behind a name felt almost odd and out of place when before having a name such as Glowstar sounded more odd than anything else. One of the few things that all Revolution Group cats could actually agree on.
"Soon, we can send out a patrol, warning the clans of trouble to come if they do not return to their respective borders. If they leave peacefully, that will be the end of it, but if they refuse, there will be more trouble to come." Mars still wanted to try and find a peaceful solution if it was at all possible, but he was not against a war with the two clans as long as DayClan would back them so that they were not outnumbered against the two clans. His soldiers would probably find his decision odd since the Regime usually stayed out of clan affairs, but he truly believed that this would be the best possible solution.
"Commander Fjord was a great friend of mine, I am going to have the same faith in you as I had in him until proven otherwise. Thank-you, I'll be expecting a patrol soon from you. But do not be slow, they're forces are growing and if you wait for too long they may try a second time with the Regime. I'd hate for my family here to be in any danger, except for maybe my brother," She smiled, before looking serious again, "But that's not my point. My point is, don't make soon a week later, there could be genocide."
She looked at Burningstar, "And if everyone in DayClan does get murdered because of you and Fox and Kerrigan's involvement I'm going to dismiss you from the equation. Because I understand you're new to leadership and clearly making deals is not your thing. But I was trained to kill and I will take away everything those two love except for stupi- stupendous Linda, okay? You can have Linda. So rest easy knowing you'll never be on my revenge list. But please, please please, pretty please just stop making bad deals," She pleaded, "Like us getting kits from BrookClan, that was a bad idea that lead to you giving your loyalty to Kerrigan which also lead to so many guards that Spring and us are outnumbered. Just no more deals that end in a literal apocalyptic scenario for my clan, that's fair right? Is that fair?"
It was hard not to feel a bit betrayed by Burningstar, but to Glowstar it was alright. At least Burningstar didn't mean to. Kerrigan and Foxstar did it intentionally and more than anything that hurt. Plus seeing Burningstar in front of her through it all was enough to mean the world to her. She was a true friend, she was there for her even when she didn't have to be.
Mars had remained silent while he listened to their conversation. It was interesting to say the least, but he didn't really know much of what they were speaking about, but it told him enough to give him a hint on how all of this might have started. It was probably best that he not comment on this however. Instead, he decided to address what she said earlier. "I simply need the time to inform the superiors of the situation and we will have a patrol ready. " Hopefully they would agree with his decision. They would be helping either way, but things would go smoother if they all agreed.
