A sweet scent caught the root of her mouth earlier, and that was what she was doing; following said scent. She was hoping that it wasn't just her imagination, because if she were right, this herb was very precious and needed to be catered to. She could smell the faint tinge of earth, signaling to her that she were most likely passing through the crystal cavern. Still the silver plumed she-cat pressed, until she hesitated. Her paws now hovered at the edge unfamiliar terrain, to her. Regime scent, even, was very sparse here. Almost nonexistent. She tapped a few times, nervously, before the temptation grew too much. Isla pressed on, ears flicking now with jumbled nerves, until she rounded into a softer smelling area. She had no idea how far she was now from the previous cavern, but she could smell more strongly the tang of herb and greenery. She moved carefully, feeling the cool splash of water underpaw. She bent then, inhaling the sharp herb scent, and grinning excitedly. And then, a pebble dislodged behind her.
She startled out of her thoughts, her gaze flitting behind her; as if they reaction did her any good. "Hello? Tav?" she called, her voice trembling slightly with a bit of fear. She knew she shouldn't have gotten so careless -- she shouldn't have been so curious. But part of her hoped that it was her brother, so she would get a less harsh scolding. She'd no idea what had caused the noise, though. Any other cat, at this point, would do. "W-who's there?"
"I don't know who Tav is, but I'm Vincent. Are you okay though?" The voice was was gentle and held a soft note of concern, the tom noticing both the shaken she cat and the catching the scent of what he detected as the faint trace of the same herb the she cat had been following. The tom had been trained as a guider, after all
Drawing closer, he was carfeul to step gently through the slippery terrain that the tom noted would be difficult to navigate safely even for a seeing cat. His gaze flashing with both trace curiosity at what the guider was doing and a touch of worry for his fellow group-mate's safety.

She visibly relaxed, recognizing the tom's voice as someone in her own rank, but still remaining a bit wary. Turning her head back in the direction of the scent, she made a small little laugh at the back of her throat and said, "I'm alright. Just gave me a start, is all -- I wasn't paying attention." It was true enough, she really hadn't been. But she also chastised herself for being caught so off guard. Usually, she was much more careful about who was able to sneak up on her.
"Okay, well I'm glad you're okay." Vincent said, his tone warm as he padded closer, still taking care not to trip moving through the both wet and somewhat rocky and uneven terrain. "What are you doing all the way out here though?" Vincent asked, a flash of curiosity in his eyes, although in some ways he had already guessed based on the fresh scent of the herb in the air alone. Even still the way out here, through the caverns many tunnels and through the fairly dangerous area of crystal cave, was a path that normally even challenged most scouts and mercenaries if they weren't sure to keep good footing, so seeing someone that far out not of those two ranks was a rare sight.

She moved slightly, figuring she was blocking his view from the mouthwatering scent she'd caught a whiff of earlier. "That's what I came for. I mean, my one job is to make sure herbs are tended to, so I figured I might as well risk it," she mewed quietly, not entirely adding any afterthought of it not mattering if she'd wound up falling anyways. What was one guider to the entire Regime? With a shake of her head, she cleared her thoughts and added, "Besides, I'm pretty well adept at traveling despite my blindness. You'd be surprised what your other senses are capable of."
Taking the extra time to follow the scent, the tom caught sight of the herb, giving it a once-over with his eyes. Of all the places for a more rare species to be, of course it had to be in a place where one would nearly have to break their neck to get to, that was just their luck these days. Even still, Vincent gave a nod to that comment, although he realized a little too late the she cat couldn't see it.
"I'm sure. I know my brothers do things with their sense of smell with skill I'm eternally jealous of and they only need it to hunt for their job, so I imagine what you can do would even put them to shame. But even still..." Vincent hesitated, trying to find the right words. "...Even still, I wouldn't even want to try and get to there without having someone else around to make sure I didn't break my neck trying in the attempt. An herb isn't worth a life." He advised gently.
