Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Poppymask didn't need much convincing from Devotedcrow to have her steal Ratstar away for a few days, leaving the clan to the Ratsassin's Creeds' antics until their return. Among the other festivities he had coordinated with Rosethorn, this was to be the main event, one that the whole clan could participate in as they pleased.
Scattered throughout the camp were materials of all sorts: Branches, logs even, hay collected from somewhere, muds, pastes, jams, jellies, flowers, you name it, they had it! The smack center was cleared out by a large radius; he'd even taken the creek into account, bark stripped off some of the territory's trees bridging across it. Currently, standing in the midst of the clearing, Crow looked back at the clanmates that had grown curious about what was happening. "So, Ratstar won't be back for two nights and I think the best way we can all show him our complete and utter devotion is by building a statue in his honor! It's going to be a team effort and we'll need as many paws that are willing to lend a hand, and hopefully we can have it completed by time he gets back!"
There was one extra detail he omitted, but he planned on reserving that for Ratstar's return, hoping the one-eyed tabby would be surprised and thrilled by what he had planned. "So who's in?"
The sentence had barely left Devotedcrow's mouth before his field of vision would be obscured by not one but two apprentices simultaneously.
Twilightpaw was a little hurt that she hadn't already been asked to participate in helping Devotedcrow set up the event in the first place. Had she upset him somehow? Was her training not going as well as he had hoped? Was she going to have to prove herself to him by building the biggest statue known to catkind? And why was Bluepaw trying to barge in on her moment with her dad mentor? She wasn't even part of the Ratsassin's Creed! "I'll help! Where do you need me to start?" she said, trying to project an aura of eager helpfulness that was untainted by her roiling anxieties, and not doing a very good job.
"I can help too, Devotedcrow," Bluepaw said helpfully, craning her neck around Twilightpaw's mass of fluffy fur and blissfully unaware of the daggers the older apprentice was occasionally shooting in her direction.
"Finally," Icesplash chuckled to himself, limping over to where cats were beginning to gather around Devotedcrow and taking a seat by the bank of the creek. "Something I can actually help out with for once. A cousin of mine was always big into crafting stuff out of twigs and mud and reeds; I used to help him out sometimes, so this should be easy!"
Weevilpaw looked between Devotedcrow, Twilightpaw, and Bluepaw for a moment before smirking mischievously, lifting a back leg to scratch at his ear as he turned to Pikepaw. "They'll definitely need our help, don't ya think?" he inquired of his best friend. "I mean, we know my Papa better than anyone, so who better to build a statue of him than us?" Though honestly, he just wasn't interested in any of the other events the Ratsassin's Creed crew had set up. What was so special about romance and she-cats, anyway? Getting his already messy fur caked in mud seemed a lot more fun.
(so sorry! last month got extremely busy with moving but now it's winding down!)
Twilightpaw, Bluepaw, and Icesplash all arrived around the same time, and Crow glanced between the three of them as he absorbed each of their separate comments. "Your help is greatly appreciated Bluepaw," he assured the apprentice, then turned to address Icesplash. "That's great because between you and me-- and these two-- I don't know what I'm doing in the slightest. I'm surprised anyone showed up if I'm honest," he laughed. Lastly, he turned to give his anxiety-overloaded apprentice his full attention, directing her to some of the sticks and mud. "I have a very important job for you, Twilightpaw. How do you feel about helping me out with the sections I make? I'm not sure how well I'll be able to work with one good paw."
Pikepaw looked up from where he was counting some of the stones at his paws, brow furrowed in concentration that was now broken. He glanced between Weevilpaw and the group that was now gathering around Devotedcrow as he slowly registered what was happening. "Hey, you're right! Do you think we should try and make a flower crown for it? I bet we could do a really good job of it," he suggested, envisioning the very best flower crowns imaginable perched on top of the giant Ratstar statue. Surely everyone would be impressed by that!
Firekit scampered from the nursery, drawn outside by all the commotion. "I wanna help!" What he was helping with, he wasn't exactly sure, but it sure did beat being cooped up in the nursery with Cinderkit using him for a pillow!
