Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Talk about emptying out the nursery. In hindsight, Ratstar probably should've seen this coming earlier; three medium-sized litters, as well as a few adopted orphans, that had all been born roughly around the same time. But the Summerclan leader had been so excited about the upcoming promotion of his own children that he hadn't noticed the issue until Graythorn brought it up to him about a week prior...which had been immediately followed by a rush of warriors remodeling what had previously been a relatively barren apprentices' den in order to fit the large wave of promoted kits. Ratstar and Rosethorn had roughly split their duties concerning the influx; with Ratstar overseeing the remodel while Rosethorn worked out most of the mentor pairings. The one-eyed tom did have a few specific pairings in mind though...his Deputy would probably have her paws full, but it would be worth it in teaching his little princess a lesson in respect.
Ratstar couldn't hide the tears of fatherly pride welling up in his eye at the bright, happy faces of his beloved kits, as well as those of all the other newly promoted apprentices. All of them would become great and honorable warriors of Summerclan someday...he was certain of it.
(Training threads for Apprentices are fully optional; if you want one, DM your mentor's rp'er. There is some new incentive for doing so though; starting next AC, the apprentice whose linked training thread has the most replies will be recognized during ceremonies and be granted the title of 'Top of the Class' for that month, with their mentor being given the title of 'Head Professor'. It's mostly just bragging rights, tbh.)
Sunpaw was....noticeably absent from the ceremonies. It actually felt hollow without an outcry from SummerClan's self-appointed overseer-- or was that because there was a distinct lack of apprentices that were relegated to garden keeper training? Ratstar had announced fourteen names in total, so why were there only nine pairs of eyes looking back at Ratstar? And why did it take this long for him to notice that a quarter of his promotions were missing?
The garden keeper apprentices in question were all herded to an area right outside the camp's bramble barriers, their heads covered by whatever had been closest to her at the time. Molepaw had mud caked across his eyes like a bandit mask (which didn't matter because his eyes were closed anyway); Dahliapaw had leaves pasted over her eyes with some adhesive substance that had an unknown origin; and Bluepaw seemed to be struggling to breathe with all the moss covering her head, but right before she suffocated, Sunpaw removed the makeshift blindfolds. "Bubs, you can open your eyes," she informed her brother before clearing her throat.
"You might be wondering why I've gathered you all here. Well, unfortunately, my Papi has fallen under the spell of an evil, evil witch and it is our job to save him from her." Her voice was grave and her expression somber, a moment of silence falling over the group as she prayed to StarClan to lend her the strength she would need to do what obviously needed to be done. "He cannot be trusted to make sound decisions any longer, so we must take matters into our own paws-- and get rid of Rosethorn!" strawberrycupidlavellanmeow
Back in camp, and doing normal newly apprenticed things, Pikepaw bounded across to his best pal, Weevilpaw, a giddy grin stretched across his golden maw despite his father's own ceremonial reassignment. He was electing to ignore all that for now, instead reveling in the newfound freedom he'd obtained. "We did it! We're apprentices! Doesn't Pikepaw have a nice ring to it?" GidgetGal
Bluepaw gasped. "An evil witch?" Her eyes bugged out of her head in shock as Sunpaw continued. And it was Rosethorn? The deputy?! How had StarClan allowed this to happen? "How are we going to bring her down?" she asked, giving Sunpaw her rapturous attention. woof

Daydreamer had been dozing off in the corner nearest the warriors den with the most sunlight shining down, a blessing on this particularly cold morning, when he heard the call for a meeting he simply kept his ears pricked, the bengal not bothering to open his eyes until at his surprise his name was called to be a mentor, and of all cats to train, it was the offspring of the leader himself? The clan must be going to the foxes, or they had finally started believing that Daydreamer wasn't as daft as many before had imagined. Either way, in his orange eyes there was a light of coming pride.

Really, Molepaw could have been asked to follow Sunpaw and he would have. But instead he was blinded by mud and herded into an off shoot outside of camp. His first time out of camp and he didn't even get to see it. He rubbed the mud off as Sunpaw explained her plot. "How is Daddy under a spell? I haven't noticed a change in him?"
"Oh, no, she got to you too, bubs," lamented Sunpaw dismally, looking at her brother with sad eyes. She shook her head and patted him on the back with her tail. "We'll get you right, don't worry. Anyway, we're going to have to be sneaky about this. We can't exactly charge in guns blazing alright? Someone is going to need to protect paps while we handle the problem, so who wants to volunteer to be a bodyguard?"

"She?... Oh, you mean Rosethorn." Molepaw didn't really get it, but he did like it when Sunpaw was more sympathetic towards him. So he took the pat on the back with a small smile. As he listened to his sister's plan, he tilted his head. "Well, you're in the best position to keep an eye on Rosethorn since you're her apprentice, Sunpaw. So then one of us should keep an eye on Ratstar." Molepaw's gaze traced over the group that were here before focusing again on his sister, "I don't think Goldenthistle will be that lax with me so maybe someone else?"
Sunpaw looked like she was positively glowing with pride, murmuring an encouragement to him, but then she was all business again, pinpointing Bluepaw as the obvious option. "Bluepaw has Honeyfrost as her mentor, and I always see her and that other weird cat around Pappy. It should be easy enough for you to watch him that way."
